• Ensure that OT systems and processes adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Stay updated on standards such as ISA-95 (for manufacturing operations management), ISO 62443 (for industrial automation and control systems security), and other relevant guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with regulations like OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
• Prepare for and support regulatory audits. Maintain documentation and evidence of compliance activities.
• Implement and enforce internal policies related to OT system use, data integrity, and security.
• Ensure that software applications used in OT environments function correctly and securely.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of OT applications. Ensure they meet performance and security requirements.
• Implement role-based access controls to ensure only authorized personnel can interact with specific applications.
• Regularly test and validate applications to ensure they perform as expected and do not introduce vulnerabilities.
• Manage updates and patches to OT applications, ensuring they do not disrupt operations.
• Implement and manage cybersecurity measures to protect OT systems from threats.
• Conduct regular security assessments and apply necessary patches and updates.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies.
• Specifically focus on securing operational technology systems from cyber threats and ensuring operational integrity.
• Implement proactive threat detection and streamline security operations.
• Focus on full network visibility, implement network segmentation, monitor and control network access.
• Design and implement secure network architectures for OT systems, including segmentation and monitoring.
• Apply security best practices to harden OT systems against unauthorized access and attacks.
• Regularly scan for and address vulnerabilities in OT systems.
• Compliance with OT Security Frameworks.
• Optimize and control manufacturing processes to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Design and implement control systems that manage manufacturing processes accurately and reliably.
• Continuously monitor process performance and make adjustments to improve efficiency and quality.
• Develop and refine control strategies, including feedback and feedforward controls, to manage process variables effectively.
• Utilize data from process control systems to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage and optimize the technology systems used to monitor and control physical processes in manufacturing.
• Ensure seamless integration of OT systems with IT infrastructure and other enterprise systems.
• Oversee the lifecycle of OT systems, from procurement and installation to maintenance and decommissioning.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
• Ensure high availability and reliability of OT systems to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with OT systems and processes.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities in OT systems and processes.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks, including preventive and corrective actions.
• Analyse incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Continuously monitor and review risk factors to ensure that risk management strategies remain effective.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ISA certifications, cybersecurity certifications) are preferred.
• Professional Engineer Certification, Functional Safety Design Certification-(Advantageous)
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a manufacturing, logistics & customer environment.
• Advantageous: Experience with chemicals and explosives manufacturing
• In depth experience of managing multi-dimensional programmes, deadlines, and large budgets.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Management, Operations Management, or a related field
• Six Sigma or Lean certification.
• Simulation modelling
• Advanced Data Analytics & Modelling- (advantageous)
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operations.
• Proven track-record of analysing, designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving Total Quality Management, Industrial Engineering and Operational Excellence, tools, processes and systems.
• Proven track-record in simulation software such as Simio, Anylogic, Fidelis or similar.
• In depth experience of managing multi-dimensional programmes, deadlines, and large budgets.
• Engagement with diverse, external international stakeholders in managing legislative risk.
• Experience in working across a broad spectrum of industries – from white collar to unionised environments.

Job Description

• Develop process engineering design with support from other engineering disciplines or consultants: Project definition and scoping, Process Design Criteria, PFDs, Process descriptions, P&IDs, Datasheets, Control and Operating philosophies, execution plans, commissioning plans and operational readiness plans
• Facilitate and/or Manage feasibility studies, design and engineering, execution and construction, commissioning and handover of projects
• Participate and/or facilitate Hazard and Operability studies
• Accountable for ensuring robust and accurate process engineering deliverables
• Develop and roll out standard process engineering documentation
• Manage process related projects from initiation through to implementation, covering: pre-feasibility, feasibility, design, execution and closeout
• Establish project requirements, priorities, and deadlines by undertaking effective stakeholder engagement, managing inputs, generating well defined user requirements, scope of work, accurate schedules and costing;
• Develop execution strategies (in-house, semi-turnkey or turnkey) by assessing the project complexity, risk, resource loading and expertise, investment appetite and priority pertaining to business strategy;
• Ensures that all the relevant project management documentation and controls are in place to monitor and track project progress enabling on-time and within budget delivery of projects
• Demonstrates strong understanding of engineering deliverables at the different phases of a project, and implements the relevant controls to ensure that design and engineering complies to best practices;
• Ensures that all project risk assessments, HAZOPs and constructability reviews are effectively undertaken with the required documentation and stakeholders
• Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within budget, meets the stakeholder’s approved requirements and business objectives as committed;
• Ensure projects are completed in accordance to AECI guidelines, policies and procedures. In the absence of updated standards, best global practices shall be adhered to
• Apply in-depth knowledge on all aspect of a project, which include Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Quality and Contract (FDIC etc.)
• Report on project progress, cost, schedule, risk, mitigation plans and governance at weekly, monthly and quarterly Meetings including steering committees
• Active representation and participation in the annual capital budgeting process
• Support the Group Corporate Project’s department with continuous improvement of the project governance procedure, and its roll out across the Group
• Support Senior Project managers in the development of Project Definition and Front end loading
• Support Senior project managers in the development of project schedules, costing and project execution strategies
• Comply with project governance requirements
• Maintain alignment of project teams with business unit objectives
• Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, internal and external stakeholders
• Evaluate and manage project risks and contingency plans in addition to process safety related risk management

Qualifications & Experience

• BScEng/BEng (with honours) in Chemical Engineering. A BTech degree in Chemical Engineering may be considered if candidate has experience in synthesis processes, explosive design, engineering and commissioning
• Management certification/Qualification would be advantageous
• Preference will be given to a candidate that has 10 years’ process engineering and project management experience, ideally in the project management field
• The ideal candidate has strong engagement skills, is self-motivated and driven with a focus on adding value through the on-time delivery of strategic projects
• Deliver results through quality and safety awareness, planning and organizing, decision making and execution to readily deliver value
• Firm understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Demonstrated Project Management track record, and ability to manage multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency in computer literacy i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power-point, MS Projects, and SAP
• Excellent writing skills – Technical Reports and Business Cases
• Excellent command of the English Language
• Strong and Effective Communication skills
