    Environmental Scientist

    Job Description

    • Are you passionate about shaping sustainable futures and driving environmental excellence? We’re looking for a skilled Environmental Scientist to join our dynamic team and contribute to impactful projects across AECOM globally.

    Role Overview

    • As an Environmental Scientist, you will play a key role in developing environmental outputs throughout various project stages. You’ll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, guide junior staff, and manage stakeholder engagement processes. Your work will directly influence environmental assessments, reporting, and approvals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and coordinate environmental studies and outputs across project phases and regions.
    • Guide Junior Environmental Scientists and contribute to specialist reporting.
    • Conduct surveys, monitoring, and routine environmental tasks.
    • Assist with Public Participation and Stakeholder Engagement processes.
    • Prepare high-quality EIA/ESIA reports using technical knowledge and specialist inputs.
    • Apply legislative knowledge to identify project triggers and ensure compliance.
    • Coordinate with authorities for environmental approvals.
    • Support client meetings and contribute to technical proposals.
    • Engage with AECOM Global teams.

    Technical Excellence

    • Analyse environmental data using established procedures and software tools.
    • Ensure reporting quality meets client and authority standards.
    • Work within budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
    • Maintain and develop technical skills to support project delivery.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
    • Professional registration with SACNASP (Scientist) and EAPASA (Environmental Assessment Practitioner).
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in environmental assessments and reporting.

    Candidate Engineer - Dams and Hydropower

    Job Description

    • The Candidate Engineer - Dams and Hydropower will provide technical support in feasibility studies, design and inspections across dam engineering disciplines, including dam structures, foundations, construction materials, spillway, and hydraulic and flood hydrological analyses.
    • The role involves working within multidisciplinary teams and contributing to local and international projects from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support and contract administration.

    Here is what you will be doing (under supervision of an experienced engineer):

    • Assist with dam safety inspections.
    • Support designs of all types of dams.
    • Participate in quality assurance during dam construction projects.
    • Prepare project specifications, bill of quantities and tender documentation.
    • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analysis of catchment runoff and watercourses.
    • Perform hydraulic modelling and design of spillway and other hydraulic structures.
    • Utilise design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, etc).
    • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

    Minimum requirements

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Exposure with design software will be advantageous (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, etc).
    • Prior exposure to dam engineering will be advantageous.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
    • 0-3 years' experience post-graduation.

    Engineer - Water

    Job Description

    • Water and Wastewater Hydraulic Modeler / Engineer / Senior Technologist

    Here is what you will do:

    • Prepare and edit 2D drawings, including plans, profiles, and cross-sections, using MicroStation.  
    • Import, reference, and coordinate design data from Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, or other modeling platforms.  
    • Support utility and infrastructure design teams in developing construction drawings, layouts, plan & profiles and as-built documentation.  
    • Manage ProjectWise, environments for drawing control, versioning, and collaboration.  
    • Generate drawing sheets, annotations, dimensions, and labeling in accordance with project templates and QA/QC procedures.  
    • Assist with data translation, such as converting between DWG and DGN formats while maintaining data integrity.  
    • Wastewater and water modeling using InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater Pro and InfoWorks WA
    • Working on projects in Canada, USA, UK&I the Middle East and Australia

    Here’s what we’re looking for:

    • 5+ years of experience in MicroStation-based drafting for civil or wet utility projects including Gravity & Pressure network. 
    • 5+ Years of experience in InfoWorks ICM modeling, InfoWater Pro Modeling
    • Should have experience using MicroStation Connect Edition software & Open Road Designer software in specific to Wet Utilities Design. Like Plan & Profiles. 
    • MicroStation CAD Standards. 
    • Working experience on ROP & COT MicroStation Seed files would be preferable. 

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Civil Engineering
    • 4 relevant experience post qualification
    • Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Professional Quantity Surveyor - MEPF

    Job Description

    • Here is what we you will be doing:
    • The Professional Quantity Surveyor is required to be facilitate over the programme development cycle (engineering, procurement and construction) and provides quantity surveying duties pre- and/or post-contract while working as part of the project team. Performs specific and limited portions of a broader project as an experienced quantity surveyor.  Guides Candidate Quantity Surveyors on works and detailed routine.

    Technical Excellence:

    • Undertakes responsibilities independently and/or under very general supervision, where work is reviewed for soundness of judgement and accuracy
    • Provides expertise and supervision utilizing more than one competence on projects of varying scope and complexity
    • Provides expertise and supervision with completing the measurement of quantities for input into cost plans, cost estimates and bills of quantities
    • Provides expertise and supervision with the preparation of tender documentation
    • Provides expertise and supervision with viability studies and cost estimates
    • Provides expertise and supervision with implementing, maintaining and monitoring cost control procedures throughout the duration of a project
    • Provides expertise and supervision with providing necessary input related to financial claims
    • Provides expertise and supervision with evaluating variations, additions, and omissions, etc, and incorporating these into monthly cost reports
    • Provides expertise and supervision with preparing, pricing and negotiating change orders with clients and contractors
    • Complies with all QA requirements

    Qualifications

    Here is what we are looking for:

    • BSc Quantity Surveying
    • Over 5 years of experience in the built environment in a QS function
    • Must be registered as a Pr.QS with SACQSP
    • Under limited supervision, normally receives little instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
    • Conducts surveys to ascertain the locations of natural features and human-made structures on the earth's surface, underground, and underwater, using electronic distance-measuring equipment and other surveying instruments.
    • Operates and manages land-information computer systems, performs tasks such as storing data, making inquiries, and producing plots and reports.
    • Reviews information from survey teams regarding measurement of distances, directions, angles between points and elevation of points, lines, and contours on, above, and below the earth’s surface.
    • Research legal records, looks for evidence of previous boundaries, and analyses the data to determine the location of boundary lines.
    • Records the results of surveys, verifies the accuracy of data, and prepares plots, maps, and reports.
    • An experienced professional with full understanding of area of specialization.
    • Works on problems of diverse scope.
