    Production Manager - Eloff

    Description

    The purpose of this role is to manage the manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities at the Eloff site in the most cost-effective way by ensuring maximum efficiency and optimal mix whilst maintaining compliance with legislation, customer specifications, quality and company standards to achieve planned production.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A Diploma/Degree in Production Management or any other relevant qualification.
    • 5 years operational management experience within the FMCG manufacturing environment of which 3 years must be in a management position.
    • Experience in an Animal Feeds manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of cost management (i.e., processing budget vs expenditure).
    • Knowledge of cost-saving (i.e., deliver against cost-saving and business improvement initiatives).
    • Target-driven, knowledge of production processes, best practices and quality systems (e.g., OEE).
    • Knowledge of waste management processes.
    • Solid team management experience, including but not limited to workforce planning, performance management and ensuring discipline on-site.
    • Knowledge of SHEQ compliance within the Processing Department.

    KEY PERFROAMN AREAS

    • Oversee production planning on-site.
    • Provide input into the broader strategy from a production perspective.
    • Manage, plan and control the Production Department’s budget.
    • Ensure that the Production Department is sufficiently capacitated to deliver against the production plan.
    • Identify and implement work improvement practices to achieve maximum outputs.
    • Establish and ensure the most efficient use of resources i.e., cost, people, time, etc. to increase delivery on product output and quality.
    • Develop, implement and manage the preventative maintenance program.
    • Drive optimal product quality and volumes to maximize customer satisfaction.
    • Provide input into the establishment of systems and procedures to comply with best practices, legislative, and other regulatory guidelines.
    • Drive production targets while minimizing costs (i.e., ensuring minimum wastage of raw materials, packaging materials, minimizing downtime and reducing labour costs).
    • Ensure on-site compliance to Safety, Health, Risk, Environment and Quality Management.
    • Ensure prompt implementation of corrective measures where non-compliance is identified.

    Maintenance Foreman - Bethlehem

    Description

    • Responsible for the overall management of the maintenance program.

    Requirements

    REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING    

    • Grade 12
    • N6 Millwright/Technical Qualification
    • Trade certificate: Millwright
    • Registered Wireman’s Licence - Category 2: Installation Electrician

    REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE            

    • 6 years technical experience as a qualified Millwright
    • Previous experience within an animal feed factory will be an advantage

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS         

    • Plan the maintenance schedule
    • Inspect and repair machinery and equipment
    • Maintain an up-to-date list of  critical spares, procure and manage spare parts and stock on emergency spares
    • Conduct regular inspections and repairs of equipment and machinery to prevent mechanical and electrical breakdowns
    • Oversee the speedy repairs of unplanned breakdowns
    • Manage the planned preventative maintenance program by accurately documenting preventative inspections and recommending the replacement and/or repairs of equipment and machinery 
    • Recruit and appoint competent employees, manage performance and resolve grievances, conflict and disciplinary issues in line with applicable HR policies.
    • Manage and control the plant's budget 
    • Monitor and prevent food safety risks in work areas, ensure food safety awareness and report non-conforming products
    • Ensure health and safety are maintained in accordance with relevant legislation and company policy

    TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/ COMPETENCIES          

    • Practical/hands-on mechanical knowledge
    • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance

    • Management experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance planning
