    Case Manager – Rondebosch Medical Centre

    Description

    • A vacancy exists for a Case Manager, reporting to the Patient Administration Manager.
    • The position’s primary responsibilities include efficient patient case management and the delivery of an efficient and professional service to the internal and external customers.
    • The successful candidate will be goal oriented with strong customer, quality, and performance focus.

    Critical Outputs

    • Carry out clinical coding in accordance with CPT and ICD requirements
    • Ensure that pre-admission and pre-authorisation information is accurate and in accordance with hospital and funder procedures.
    • Maintain patients’ clinical status in accordance with funder approval requirements for the duration of hospitalization; keeping patients informed and managing the entire hospital stays’ financial risk
    • Provide complete and accurate updates and discharge information of all accounts
    • Maintaining accurate accounts of all admissions
    • Handle patient files in accordance with hospital procedures
    • Timeous electronic submission of accounts and follow up on short payments arising from case management related issues.
    • Ensure the adherence of hospital staff to funder rules and coding procedures
    • Keep well informed on legislation pertaining to funders and related Health Care matters

    Requirements

    • SANC registration as an RN
    • High school matric certificate
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience of basic finance and Medical Aid administration procedures will be an advantage
    • Knowledge of hospital billing and tariffs would be an advantage.
    • Have sound computer literacy skills and working knowledge of MS office, word and excel.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to form and build strong partnerships
    • Excellent negotiation skills & the ability to interact with tact and diplomacy

    Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) – Medicare Private Hospital

    Description

    • A vacancy exists for a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) reporting to the Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of medication and supplementary services to patients and the multidisciplinary team.

    Critical Outputs

    • Receiving, checking and unpacking stock, together with checking orders against invoices.
    • Acquisition, control and distribution of stock to internal units.
    • Ordering pharmaceutical stock, processing of credits and stock transfers.
    • Performing cycle counts and stock takes as well as capturing stock takes, investigating variances.
    • Liaise with nursing staff and doctors on formulary and initiatives.
    • Participate in the facility’s quality programmes and initiatives.
    • Dispensing, compounding under the supervision of a pharmacist.
    • Replacement of medication to the emergency cupboard.
    • Dead stock management.
    • Assist with other admin functions on a daily basis.
    • Assist with daily ordering and management of stock.

    Requirements

    • Registration as a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant with the South African Pharmacy Council.
    • Experience in hospital pharmacy would be an advantage.
    • Computer proficiency.

    Services Supervisor – Rondebosch Medical Centre

    Description

    • An exciting opportunity exists for a Services Supervisor at Rondebosch Medical Centre in Cape Town, reporting to the Hospital Manager.
    • This role supports the coordination of internal support services and assists in managing external service providers to ensure quality service delivery and operational efficiency

    Critical Outputs

    The Services Supervisor will assist in the coordination of the following services:

    • Catering
    • Cleaning/Bundled services
    • Security
    • Garden & Hygiene services
    • Pest Control
    • Medical/Healthcare risk waste
    • General Waste
    • Laundry

    Support in External Service Provider Management

    • Monitor conformance to SLA, identify gaps and implement corrective action.
    • Monitoring service level agreements (SLAs)
    • Support performance tracking and reporting
    • Maintain relationships with service providers
    • Identify, together with Hospital Manager, applicable services and service providers
    • Maintain productive relationships with service providers through regular meetings.

    Quality Systems Support

    • Assist in conducting customer satisfaction surveys
    • Support compliance checks with health and safety standards
    • Help prepare documentation for audits
    • Ensure external stakeholders conform to agreed quality standards and drive conformance to relevant health and safety legislation as it relates to area of responsibility.
    • Ensure compliance to RMC Services and Health and Safety policy standards, on-key system and relevant legislation.

    Financial Administration

    • Assist with invoice processing and budget tracking
    • Support cost and quality benchmarking activities

    Team Support

    • Provide a 24hr standby service to always ensure the availability of essential services for all stakeholders.
    • Help organize training and development activities
    • Visible leadership in respect of RMC values, operating model and strategy.
    • Facilities Coordination
    • Manage and monitor cleanliness and readiness of hospital facilities
    • Assist in coordinating small-scale facilities projects
    • Assist with reporting maintenance issues pertaining to the facilities.

    Requirements

    • Certificate or Diploma in Facilities Management
    • 3 years of experience in support services or facilities coordination in Private healthcare environment is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of contract management and health and safety regulations.
    • Proven leadership and people management experience.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong leadership style with the ability to motivate and direct a team
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Computer proficiency.
    • Drivers license.
