    Refinery Senior Business Analyst

    • The responsibilities of the Business Analyst is to gather, analyse and prepare documentation such as business cases, detailed impact assessments and any functional specification documents required for Astron Energy corporate functions and shared platforms.
    • They will also report on any IT generated demand as well as business generated enhancements required. The Business Analyst is responsible to facilitate reporting standardisation across functional areas by identifying standardisation opportunities and optimising the existing reporting framework.
    • The Business Analyst supports the refinery domain architect and refinery BRM by preparing accurate business requirements and support any required business cases for IT generated projects
    • The business analyst supports the domain architect by accurately documenting business reporting and enhancement requirements and by improving reporting standardisation across the different functional areas
    • Leads workshops with IT and the refinery to gather the requirements for IT projects including functional and non-functional requirements
    • May lead small to medium projects as required or serve as project resources
    • Responsible to document requirements and transfer knowledge to project delivery teams
    • Generate the Project Scope for refinery IT generated projects
    • Support the development of comprehensive requirement specifications that will determine the estimate of cost, time and resources to deploy solutions in conjunction with other IT SME’s
    • Highlight / identify gaps in existing functionality and review requirements with stakeholders
    • Contribute to business impact analysis reports to assist business partners with appropriate information about new business requirements and alignment to prioritised IT roadmap
    • Deliver designs for complex systems and system integration and as well as managing implementation of these

    Professional Qualification and Certifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • BA Certification desirable

    ​​​​​​​Work Experience: 

    • 10 or more years IT BA experience in a refinery or chemical processing environment
    • Program Development background
    • Ideally consulting background

    ​​​​​​​Knowledge and skills:

    • Demonstrated experience and a proven track record of successfully delivering solutions in a refinery environment
    • Strong refinery business knowledge and systems knowledge
    • Strong development background required to provide guidance on technical/development solutions and oversight of vendors delivering such solutions
    • Advanced IT technical skills to provide guidance to project teams on development of complex systems. Deep understanding of the manufacturing technology stack to include OS, DB, middleware, application layer, OT, IoT, virtualisation, and cloud technologies
    • Good communication and customer focus - the ability to influence multiple IT and business stakeholder groups to agree on a single set prioritised requirements
    • Proven analytical skills – the ability to understand business requirements for enhancements and reports.

    Administrative Assistant

    • Provide administrative support for the Cape Town Retail Team
    • Acts as a central point for fielding & directing queries to the Cape Town Retail Team
    • Provides confidential, customer-facing and administrative support
    • Works with all stakeholders in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Managers to ensure smooth operating environment
    • Custodian of all documentation for the team
    • Maintains calendars and scheduling of Retailer Engagements for Retail Territory Managers and fulfil general administration functions for the team
    • Assist with customer query resolution and follow ups
    • Stand-in (caretaker) for Territory Managers on emergencies
    • Participate in projects on an ad hoc basis

    Admin support:

    • Travel arrangements for the National Sales Manager/Head of Sales & Operations
    • Purchase order management, including requesting/receiving quotes from vendors and load new vendors in the Procurement SharePoint site
    • Liaise with vendors and Accounts Payable for invoice queries
    • Book venues and catering for all meetings for the sales teams
    • Take minutes & action items during weekly performance meetings and Monthly Business Reviews (MBR’s), monthly LPS Stewardship meetings, Territory Meetings, Retailer Engagement Meetings, etc.
    • Coordinate year plan and training schedules in collaboration with Learning and development for the team and also arrange meetings/ venues for the team
    • Coordinate new employees’ on-boarding (IT & HR), with the necessary submission of documentation
    • Provide administrative support function for the team to track & monitor budgets on a monthly basis
    • Participate and provide an administrative support in projects that the team and the business unit undertake from time to time.

    Professional Qualification and Certifications:

    • Matric or equivalent, or tertiary qualification in Executive Office Administration, or equivalent

    Work Experience:

    • Approximately 3 years’ experience in Administration
