Job Advert Summary    

• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality systems. The core objective is to drive continuous improvement, mitigate risk, and ensure adherence to compliance to achieve operational and client excellence.

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12.
• Degree in Food Science and Technology.
• 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Excellent timekeeping skills.
• Be able to work under pressure. 
• Working overtime when required.

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Complete role as a food safety team leader.
• Ensure adherence to the required food safety standards. 
• Ensure all corrective actions of external audits are done within a given period. 
• Ensure management review is done yearly. 
• Conducting internal audits as per the plan and ensuring all parties are participating in and completing audits within the required timeframe.
• Follow-up on completion of reports, daily, weekly, monthly. 
• Participate in and manage third party audits. 
• Maintain the HACCP systems.
• Ensure that all safety, quality and animal welfare procedures are up to date. 
• Conduct plant inspections. 
• Handle queries from service providers.
• Ensuring customer complaints are investigated and closed off.
• Ensure control equipment is working and sent for calibration by the person responsible (thermometer, infra-red, refractometer, humidity meter)
• Maintain and manage the food safety and quality program.
• Assist with product trails, changes and customer requirements. 
• Maintain quality controls, specifications, and documented procedures. 
• Updating of animal welfare procedures and records. 
• Ensure birds are processed according to animal welfare standards

• Ensure compliance with the food safety, quality and animal welfare systems in the assigned area of responsibility. To supports the QA Manager in overseeing quality control processes and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12.
• Degree/Diploma in Food Science and Technology.
• 3–5 years’ relevant experience.
• Excellent timekeeping skills.
• Be able to work under pressure. 
• Working overtime when required.

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Conduct plant walks as required.
• Ensure that food safety and quality standards and practices are maintained.
• Maintain the Quality Control Program.
• Maintain a high level of hygiene throughout the processing plant.
• Report workers not adhering to the required standard.
• Verification of product specifications.
• Maintain food safety and quality systems. 
• Follow up on corrective actions of external audits. 
• Assist in third party audits.
• Conduct internal audits.
• Assist with product trails, changes and customer requirements. 
• Responsible for KFC calibration – twice a year. 
• Assist in approval or checking quality employee clocking’s.
• Assisting in handling customer complaints. 
• Handle all queries from service.
• Responsible for quality monthly report. 
• Completing 6 sigma sheet.
• Ensure birds are processed according to animal welfare practices and standards.
