    Store Assistant

    Job Advert Summary    

    • We are looking for an experienced Store Assistant to join our team. The goal is to ensure all support activities are carried out efficiently and effectively to allow the other operations to function properly.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12
    • Valid Drivers license
    • 1 year experience in related field
    • Qualification in the relative field would be an added advantage
    • Basic computer skills - MS Office (Excel, Word, Power point & Outlook)
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent record keeping skills

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Working according to strict schedules, deadlines and procedures
    • Monitor inventory and keeping good record of new materials/supplies/parts especially when issuing is done
    • Keeping good record and communicating with department manager to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock
    • Ensure that all duties carried out are of high quality
    • Prompt issuing and ordering of stock, especially if it can affect production
    • Ensure that all bio-security standards and procedures are strictly adhered to
    • Candidate should be willing to work flexible hours and weekends when needed
    • Compile weekly and monthly reports for Admin Manager
    • Store to be kept in good, clean condition
    • Conduct weekly stock takes and auditing of stock on hand
    • Receiving of deliveries and completing paperwork
    • Administrative duties such as filling copies of invoices etc.
    • Quality control (petrol, diesel, vaccines & chemical store)
    • Keeping PPE registers up to date and in place
    • Candidate should have excellent driving abilities as they would need to pick up/deliver items from town and site when needed

    Electrician (Maintenance Manager)

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 with a relevant Electrical qualification (Red Seal).
    • Minimum of 5 years’ maintenance management experience, preferably in a hatchery/poultry environment. 
    • Knowledge & practical experience working on Hatchery Machinery (Petersime, Chickmaster, etc) would be beneficial
    • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems.
    • Proven leadership and people management abilities.
    • Sound understanding of preventative maintenance systems.
    • Excellent planning, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Hands-on and proactive approach.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and biosecurity.
    • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to breakdowns.
    • Candidate should be willing to work flexible hours and weekends including standby to attend to call outs where needed

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Manage and lead the maintenance team to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all hatchery equipment and systems (incubators, hatchers, HVAC, water systems, compressors, etc.).
    • Conduct routine inspections and ensure timely repair of mechanical, electrical, and structural faults.
    • Manage maintenance budgets, stock levels, and procurement of parts and equipment.
    • Ensure adherence to HSE and biosecurity standards at all times.
    • Support production by ensuring minimal disruption due to mechanical or electrical failures.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records
    • Liaise with external contractors and service providers when necessary.

    • Record keeping and reporting to Manager (mortalities, egg collection sheets, daily stats, water consumptions, feed orders, etc.) on a daily basis.
    • Ensure that the assets and installations are maintained and in good order, thorough knowledge of function / tasks / equipment.
    • Ensuring livestock is treated humanely, and in compliance with company standards (monitoring feedings, spillages, report deviations, vaccinations)
    • Coaching and monitoring employees to help them develop clear understanding of standards/requirements relating to Animal Welfare, Food Safety and Quality.
    • Training staff as per schedule
    • Planning daily work activities and organising duties on site
    • Effective communication 
    • Decision making within authority level and company procedures
    • Time management on site as well as guiding others to manage their time effectively
    • Managing IR/ HR matters of site
    • Ensuring the site complies with Health & Safety regulations
