About the job:
- A mid to junior to mid-level consultant to team in delivery of services to / at client premises on delegated engagements / projects.
- Apply core finance and accounting knowledge in an advisory context to assist our clients in enabling the success of their finance function.
- Improving the effectiveness and performance of finance functions, and finance processes.
- Supporting our clients to improve their controllership close-to-report cycle. This includes assessing their people, processes, and systems.
- Providing practical and pragmatic accounting solutions.
- Supporting clients during disruptive events (large transactions, such as IPO readiness, mergers and acquisitions, divestments, etc.)
Qualifications
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies required:
- Newly qualified CA(SA) or
- B Com Financial accounting degree
- B Com Financial management degree
- B Com IT degree
- And/ or B Com Internal Audit and
- 3-5 years’ work experience
- Knowledge of financial accounting and internal controls or SOX experience

We’re looking for someone with some or more of the following attributes:
- Understanding of finance business processes (“as-is”, gap analysis, documentation, flowcharts)
- Internal controls design and testing to address risks identified within a process
- Experience in finance functions optimisation / improvements with ERP and reporting packages / systems (SAP, Oracle, SAGE, Hyperion, etc) experience.
- Understanding of the chart of accounts structure and design of month-end balance sheet reconciliation process
- Experience with advanced Excel – macros, etc.

Job Description
- As a Junior Consultant, you will be a part of the Engagement teams in delivery of services to / at client premises on delegated engagements / projects. Focus on the delivery of client engagements. Understands how daily tasks contributes to the priorities of the business. Understand the firm’s purpose & values and explores opportunities for impact.
Technical competencies:
- Basic technical knowledge in specific area and/or industry
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Elementary business acumen
- Different data landscapes
Knowledge and experience across one or multiple areas:
- Business Analysis (including business process understanding and ability to document)
- Descriptive analytics (ability to extract insights and trends from data based on requirements)
- Data Management fundamentals
- Data engineering (extractions, transformations, loading patterns)
- Programming Coding in variety of languages (SAS, SQL, R, Python etc.)
- Basic Data Modelling
- Machine Learning (ML)
- Robotics Process Automation (RPA)
- Relevant Technical fundamentals at that point in time to what the market is procuring
- Cloud based analytics platforms (e.g. Azure and AWS)
Qualifications
- Relevant Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science or Commerce-based degree with a specialisation in IT/Computer Science/Technology
- Passion for Data and Analytics and Data Science
- Working Knowledge of Technology Programming Languages/Databases/Operating Systems
- General awareness of Technology, Data Analytics and Data Science
Preferred
- Honours degree
- Master’s degree (advantageous)
Minimum Experience
- Zero years' relevant experience within the function
Desired Experience
- 6 - 12 months relevant working experience within the function
