    Installations Administrator (Senior)

    Key Purpose of the role

    • The position is responsible for the day-to-day administration within the Retirement Funds business unit. This is a core administration function and the incumbent would be required to holistically manage and control a portfolio of different Retirement Fund disciplines, for example scheme installations, monthly contribution reconciliation, investment option, special rule registration, renewal, amendments, enhancements, Section 13A non-compliance letters and calculations, Default Reg requirements, T-day and new member processes. The incumbent must ensure that processes and procedures are implemented, maintained, and improved. The incumbent needs to ensure operational activity is conducted within regulatory frameworks, accurately, effectively, and efficiently. The incumbent must ensure that he/she has the knowledge, skills, tools, and competencies required to perform the required job within service level agreements. The incumbent must have an appetite to be part of a growing new business unit, continuous improvement, able to adapt to change easily and play a role in change management within the team, challenge the status quo, inspire, and motivate others. The incumbent will continually review existing processes and procedures to ensure the delivery of committed services to the Umbrella Funds Clients.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • Manage adherence to Service Level Agreement. Implement processes and procedures and ensure all services in respect of the operations of Umbrella Funds are conducted timeously and efficiently.
    • Dealing with the full Human Resources function for staff managed. Ensure others are trained on the processes and systems. Provides staff with clear direction. Sets appropriate standards of behaviour and outputs.  Delegates work appropriately and fairly. Motivates and empowers others.
    • Ensure that the contribution / billing process (Section 13A, Default Reg, T-day) are accurate, compliant, and abreast with regulatory frameworks such as, Pension Funds Act, Tax Act, Rules of the Discovery Life Umbrella Pension and Provident Funds, Participating employer special rules. Ensures delivery of key operational attributes such as data completeness and data quality.
    • Responsible to maintain and update SOP’s in line with business process developments and system enhancements. Assist with audits and appropriate responses to audit queries.
    • Ensure regular, comprehensive and appropriate management reports are generated for submission to line manager and the broader business.
    • Ensure productivity levels are optimised.
    • Dealing with escalated calls or queries from internal stakeholders, communicate effectively with clients to resolve queries and escalations, ensure client expectations are met.
    • Develop and maintain excellent business relations with internal and external brokers.
    • Managing projects.
    • The incumbent is the Subject Matter Expert in Retirement Fund areas under management. Produces new ideas, approaches or insights. Produces range of solutions to problems and do root cause analysis. Effective decision-making by “out of the box” thinking and weighing up risks involved.

    Team Leader Admin & Support

    Key Purpose of the role

    • The position is responsible for managing a smaller team, responsible for the Onboarding and Installation of New Business.  Some functions:
    • To review and initiate Special Rule requests and the implementation of Amendments, Enhancements and Renewals. 
    • To load and process all Umbrella contributions / billing reconciliations and investments in accordance with Section 13A of the Pension Fund Act.   
    • To compile AUM report, review and submission.
    • The incumbent must ensure that the processes and procedures are implemented, maintained (Default Reg & T-day) and improved, in order to ensure that the team managed are able to conduct the operational activity within regulatory frameworks, accurately, effectively and efficiently.     Instructional Designer

    KEY PURPOSE

    • The vacancy is for an Instructional Design role within the Discovery Institute of Training. The role requires the Instructional Designer to develop training solutions and material for the Discovery Vitality portfolio, according to high quality standards. The role will also involve constant evaluation of the training cycle and regular updating of material.

    KEY OUTPUTS

    • All work must be done accurately, comprehensively and in-line with set quality standards.
    • Effectively follow the 6Ds methodology to develop all learning solutions.
    • Consult with stakeholders across all relevant business areas to identify and address L&D needs.
    • Gather information about Discovery Vitality in relation to key needs and requirements of the area.
    • Develop comprehensive curriculum to cater for the needs of specific areas.

    • Develop storyboards (only) for digital training material, which could include online courses, videos, podcasts, infographics and animations.
    • Note: The Instructional Designer will not be responsible for any development of digital material as this function is fulfilled by the Multimedia design team.
    • Consult with business areas to agree on reasonable and achievable deadlines.
    • Train and provide guidance to the facilitators to ensure that learning outcomes are achieved through effective presentation of material.
    • Maintain material and ensuring best practice guidelines are followed across the areas.
    • Continuous evaluation of both facilitators and the effectiveness of training material.

    Clinical Coding Specialist

    Key Purpose

    • To maintain full responsibility and accountability for all clinical coding/terminology initiatives and business requirements for the Discovery/Vitality Group including but not limited to Discovery Health and Amplify Health

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • To ensure regulatory compliance to industry coding standards as they apply to each geographical region

    DevOps Engineer (Junior)

    Key Purpose

    • The Junior DevOps Engineer is an entry-level software engineer/developer with foundational knowledge of technology infrastructure and development operations, working within the Platform as a Service (PaaS) team. The primary purpose of this role is to support software developers, infrastructure administrators, and senior DevOps engineers in implementing, operating, and maintaining software solutions that enhance the software delivery and operational performance of development and infrastructure teams. The PaaS team enables business, development teams, and technology services by providing platform services, tools, and automation to improve innovation speed, software delivery, and operational performance, while helping to build cost-effective, secure, reliable, and scalable products and services.
    • The Junior DevOps Engineer will assist in implementing system designs to improve development and operational practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and the automation of manual processes. Using modern tools and technologies, this role will support environments hosted in internal data centers and the cloud, focusing on provisioning environments, assisting with software builds, and monitoring infrastructure under the guidance of senior team members.

    DevOps Engineer (Associate Specialist)

    Key Purpose

    • The DevOps engineer is a software engineer/developer with good knowledge of technology infrastructure and development operations that will work in the Platform as a Service (PaaS) team. His/her purpose is to work with software developers, infrastructure administrators, and enterprise architects to plan for, implement, and efficiently operate and maintain software solutions that will increase development and infrastructure teams’ software delivery and operations performance of their products and services. Using the latest tools and technologies, this role will support environments hosted within internal data centers and in the cloud, implementing solutions to: provision and manage environments; perform software development builds and automated testing; and monitor existing infrastructure.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    • Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current DevOps environment 
    • Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues on the platforms services provided; understand requirements to enhance platform services in use through automation or tools; assist with optimising and simplifying deployment; and to measure the software delivery and operational performance
    • Integrate various tools in the DevOps toolchain to accelerate development teams’ velocity while maintaining high standards for quality and consistency
    • Design and develop APIs / plugins / integration for tools and applications
    • Assist with the design and implementation of continuous delivery and integration pipelines and automation workflows across both on-premise and public cloud solutions
    • Automate parts of the development delivery process using scripts and other appropriate tools, including infrastructure provisioning and day 2 operations
    • Create and maintain technical documentation, including processes and user guides for integrated tools and scripts
    • Create failure management processes and tools so outages can be handled without causing a loss of delivery
