 Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:

• To analyse applications and to call for requirements considering medical, financial, territorial and vocational risks of new and existing business.
• To support key distribution partners and to ensure that all partners get superior customer service.
• To deal with escalations and to check that underwriting rules and policies have been applied.
• To ensure that the thought process used in order to underwrite a particular case is synopsised so that other underwriters can understand the thought process.
•  Applying necessary guidelines to ensure correct risk rating is applied to new and existing business.
• To liaise with all internal and external clients regarding risk applied or policies that are deferred/declined.
• To attending to enquires which would include written, telephonic, emailed or face-to face

Experience and Educational Requirements:

• Matric/Grade 12 is essential
• Medical Diploma is advantageous
• 2 years’ experience in a financial Industry

Key Purpose

• Design, code, test, debug and correct program modules in development for the back-end service providers. Construct robust, maintainable, scalable, optimally performing system code in line with technical specifications, following prescribed process, standards and procedures. Work with the system architect/analyst to define the system design and then develop and test the necessary code that will be deployed.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to:

Design

• Translate business requirements into technical designs adhering to VitalityHealth processes, standards and guidelines, taking cognisance of performance, security and scalability requirements. Deliver within agreed timeframes.
• Liaise with relevant parties where clarification of business requirements or resolution to technical issues is needed
• Research and find effective solutions to technical issues that arise
• Estimate development timelines based on business requirements

Development

• Construct robust, maintainable, scalable, optimally performing system code in line with technical specifications, following prescribed process, standards and procedures. Deliver within agreed timeframes
• Conduct unit testing and fix any defects foun

Testing

• Verify build stability and quality with development team before releasing to test team, aiming to release with zero defects
• Assist the Business analyst in ensuring the test pack includes relevant scenarios and test data.
• Consult and assist in reviewing risk / impact of defects found in testing, and assist with fixing where necessary

Support / Troubleshooting

• Assist system users with technical support issues and handle according to defined procedures
• Ability to effectively analyse root cause of system errors (data errors, performance and stability issues)

Key Purpose

• To understand the business requirements, and through a structured process, design, document, validate and translate it into models or functional documentation/report that are used stakeholders to build a technical solution and or track progress. Test and validate the functionality of the technical solution against the business requirements. Ensure that the business requirements are delivered in the implemented solution. Interface between the business customer and the development team with regards to the business, non-functional and functional requirements and assist in driving innovative technical solutions.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

• Business and technical requirements gathering and analysis
• Analyze, model, and interpret data using different tools and techniques
• Provide support to business in implementing effective and efficient solutions.
• Formulation of analysis documentation including modelling of solution
• User stories creation including acceptance criteria

Education and Experience

Education

• NQF Level 7: Certified in a 3-year degree, BSc Computer Science, or BCom Information Systems (or similar).  Honours preferred.
• Business Analyst Certification, Diploma, or Advanced BA Qualification (advantageous)

Experience

• 0 – 3 years Application Support Analysist or Business/Systems Analysis experience
• Consideration will be given to graduates without experience who show potential and can demonstrate understanding of required technical skills
