    Area Manager - JHB (JHB East Rand)

    Description

    • Purpose of this role is to ensure the profitability of all sites within the portfolio by managing risks and identifying opportunities as the key account manager, as well as instilling customer centricity through regular, meaningful interactions.  Purpose is also to ensure compliance in terms of Health and Food Safety, operational stability, and people development.
    • We require a skilled and competent Area Manager to join the Ecowize Group to oversee cleaning operations in Johannesburg. If you are a natural leader and you have a passion for operations combined with key account management, this is the role for you. 

    High-level Objectives:

    • Drive Operational Excellence through regular, meaningful interactions to drive an inclusive partnership with each customer. 
    • Ensuring that all sites take the necessary actions and ensure training interventions to prevent damages and maintain facilities, equipment, and machinery. 
    • People Focus on empowering, developing and motivating teams and individuals to perform at their best. Ensure continuous development for yourself and team. 
    • Food Safety Focus in ensuring that all sites take the necessary actions and ensure training interventions are taken to eliminate food safety risks.  

    Main responsibilities: 

    • Maintain and build strong relationships with new and existing customers. 
    • Plan and execute business strategy to grow Ecowize Footprint in this region. 
    • Generate leads for possible new business opportunities and communicate leads to Business Development Manager. 

    Job Specification: 

    • Attend monthly meetings to discuss all aspects of the site such as progress reports, client feedback and team performance, aggregate hygiene reports, and budgets. 
    • Use information obtained at the site to complete inspections, micros, audits, and customer feedback. 
    • Conduct and report meetings with Teams. 
    • Responsible for all portfolio operational activities, including operational problem-solving. 
    • Lead & manage Site Managers, who in turn must manage their teams in order to produce a food-safe portfolio, daily. 
    • Enforce a hygienic & safe working environment, with compliance to all statutory safety regulations. 
    • Manage individual and team performance of HR Resource, and coach & develop Site Managers. 
    • Manage and achieve the Portfolio Financial Budget. 
    • Adhere to and promote the Company Value System by compliance with the Ecowize Way. 

    Requirements
    Job Requirements: 

    • Grade 12.
    • Management /or Food Technology Qualification (advantageous). 
    • Experience in FMCG and or cleaning industry essential. 
    • Staff Management and Labour Relations experience is essential.  
    • Experience working with a Hygiene Quality Management System is advantageous. 
    • Own reliable transport essential and willingness to travel.  
    • Good command of the English Language. 
    • High-Quality administrative skills required. 
    • Be flexible to work at various sites as requested on short notice.

    The successful incumbent must have the following skill sets:

    Site Supervisor - Worcester (Western Cape)

    Description

    • Purpose is to oversee the work activities of the hygiene team to ensure that the site is handed over to the client according to required hygiene standards. Responsible for training the hygiene team in using all equipment and chemicals in a safe manner. Responsible for site safety and making sure that teams perform tasks timeously.

    Summary of responsibilities: 

    • Lead and manage a team to produce a food-safe site, daily. 
    • Manage and achieve the Budgeted Man-hours and Purchases in their Section. 
    • Maintain a hygienic and safe working environment with compliance to all statutory safety regulations. 
    • Manage individual and team performance; coach and develop staff. 
    • Responsible for all Operational activities in their section, including operational problem solving.

    QA Analyst - Montague Gardens (Western Cape)

    Description

    • The QA Analyst position involves comprehensive quality control tasks, including inspections, testing, and audits to maintain high-quality standards for raw materials, processes, and finished products. This role requires active participation in production management, training, and continuous improvement projects. Additionally, the candidate will support R&D efforts through laboratory testing, documentation, and collaborative product development activities.

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for product scale-up.
    • Perform inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
    • Document and capture inspection outcomes accurately within the quality management system.
    • Identify, report, and address quality issues and non-conformities.
    • Conduct audits of manufacturing processes and procedures.
    • Calibrate, maintain, and operate lab/testing equipment following SOPs.
    • Support validation and qualification processes for new equipment and processes.
    • Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
    • Provide guidance and training to personnel.
    • Conduct routine quality checks and escalate issues promptly.
    • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment; report any issues promptly.
    • Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity and reduce waste.
    • Collaborate with other departments such as quality, production, and product development to support product scale-up.
    • Support the R&D team in laboratory experiments and trials.
    • Accurately document experimental procedures, results, and observations in lab notebooks or digital systems.
    • Conduct physical, chemical, or sensory testing as necessary.
    • Prepare samples for evaluation, internal and external testing, and client trials.

    Requirements

    • Diploma or BTech qualification (Chemical Engineering or Chemistry)
    • Previous experience and knowledge of Measuring tools, lab equipment, and quality testing techniques.
    • Must have the ability to interpret technical documents, standard operating procedures,
    • formulation of work instructions, and specifications.
    • The incumbent should possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced computer literacy and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications.
    • Exposure in the Chemical detergent and disinfectant Industry will be advantageous.

    x2 Site Manager Trainees (6 Months Fixed Term Contract) (Gauteng)

    Description

    • The purpose of this role is to create a contingency plan in our operations business unit. Appointing external candidates that will be on a dedicated training plan, with the end goal of being a roaming resource available to stand in temporarily where needed. Refer to the job profile for the site manager and Site Supervisor and the training plans for clear responsibilities and milestones to qualify as a stand in resource. This individual would be required to relief staff in unforeseen events where the Site Manager is not present due to leave, training and other events.
