    Cleaner

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking committed and meticulous Cleaners to join our ESM Group team. This role consists of a wide range of cleaning and maintenance duties in various settings, ensuring our clients' premises meet our high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. As a Cleaner at ESM Group, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and inviting environment for all occupants. This position offers temporary placement opportunities, adhering to a "no work, no pay" policy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct thorough cleaning tasks including washing dishes, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in designated areas.
    • Clean and sanitize restrooms, i.e. toilets, baths, showers, floors, etc. with proper cleaning agents.
    • Efficiently handle laundry duties, including washing and ironing clothes and linen, and making beds.
    • Cleaning windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
    • Restock necessary supplies in restrooms and cleaning storage areas.
    • Keep accurate count of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages.
    • Strictly adhere to safe handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
    • Comply with all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
    • Promptly report any maintenance or repair needs to management.
    • Participate in special cleaning projects and work together with team members.
    • Maintain a professional, friendly and positive attitude in all interactions.
    • Attend training sessions to stay informed on the latest cleaning protocols.
    • Utilize biometric systems for clocking in, and smart devices for self-clocking during solo placements.
    • Complete leave forms and maintain the cleanliness of company vehicles as needed.
    • Regularly clean and maintain all cleaning equipment.
    • Support team members during high workload periods.
    • Follow detailed checklists for each client and perform monthly deep cleaning duties.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial, janitorial, or domestic cleaning roles.
    • Familiar with cleaning techniques, equipment, and the safe use of chemicals.
    • Independent worker with the capability to perform well in a team.
    • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on quality.
    • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
    • Effective communication skills (Written and Verbal).
    • Education: High School (Gr 10 or higher) or equivalent preferred.
    • Flexibility for varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Must have access to a smartphone.

    Car Wash Attendant

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking energetic, hardworking, and customer-oriented Car Wash Attendants to join our dynamic team. This role involves performing various tasks associated with the cleaning and maintenance of our clients’ vehicles, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service excellence. The ideal candidate will be someone passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and willing to grow and learn within the company.     Requirements:

    • No formal education required; training will be provided. (Grade 10 or higher will be an advantage)
    • Previous experience in car washing or cleaning of a year or more.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
    • Friendly customer service skills and a positive attitude.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    Farm Operations Manager

    Role Overview:

    As part of our Agricultural Crop Production Training programmes, we are deeply engaged in the advancement of vegetable and fruit farming practices across our operations in Diepsloot (Green Acres facility). Our mission is to nurture and sustain the environment while producing high-quality, nutritious produce. We are in search of a Farm Manager who embodies our values of innovation, sustainability, and education in agriculture. This role is central to overseeing the diverse crop operations and to the training and development of the next generation of agricultural professionals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Crop Production Oversight: Lead all aspects of vegetable and fruit production, from planning and cultivation to pest management, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
    • Operational Management: Streamline farming processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and the highest quality of produce. Oversee and Manage the maintenance of farm infrastructure and equipment (Planting shed oversight)
    • Workforce Leadership: Direct and mentor a team of up to 30 individuals (and 2 full time supervisors), emphasising the professional development of newly employed youths through practical agricultural training and exposure. Strong and firm employee management attributes are essential to this Role. 
    • Sustainability and Innovation: Advocate for and implement eco-friendly farming practices, aiming to reduce environmental impact while enhancing crop yield and quality through innovative agricultural techniques (includes livestock elements)

    Desired Background & Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor's degree / Diploma or significant experience in agriculture, biology, or a related discipline, with a focus on crop science.
    • At least 3 years of leadership experience in agricultural operations, preferably in the context of vegetable and fruit farming.
    • Firm personnel and Staff management attributes and experience.
    • Deep understanding of modern agricultural practices, including precision farming, integrated pest
    • management, and efficient water use strategies.
    • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, train, and manage a diverse team.
    • Commitment to the principles of sustainable agriculture and the capacity to work under physically
    • demanding conditions.
    • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
    • An understanding of the NQF and facilitation of Occupational Agri Qualifications would be an
    • advantage.
    • Ability to travel to and from the facilities in Gauteng.
