    Project Engineer: Electrical (Industrial Automation)

    Job Description

    • A leading industrial automation and system integration company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Engineer: Electrical. You will be the delivery owner for concurrent projects, taking full accountability for scope, timeline, quality, and client communication from kick-off to close-out. The business currently has a strong pipeline of projects spanning the Automotive and Food & Beverage sectors (including international assignments and numerous smaller capital and operational projects)

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • National Diploma, BTech, or BEng in Electrical, Mechatronic, Automation, or related discipline
    • 3-5 years' experience in industrial automation, systems integration, or electrical projects
    • Food & Beverage/process industry experience is essential
    • Experience with system integrators, automation companies, or engineering contractors advantageous
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and site team
    • Strong technical drawing, P&ID, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

    Advantageous:

    • FMCG/Food & Beverage project experience
    • PLC, E&I, and control systems exposure
    • EPLAN or electrical drafting software knowledge
    • International project delivery experience

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage multiple E&I, automation, and industrial projects simultaneously.
    • Lead site teams and subcontractors, providing technical direction and oversight.
    • Coordinate procurement, materials, FATs, installation, commissioning, and handover.
    • Act as the primary client contact, managing risks, changes, and project communications.
    • Monitor project progress, documentation, safety, quality, and compliance standards.

    Ammonia Plant Operator (Category B)

    Job purpose:

    • To ensure the continuous, efficient, and safe operation of all pressurized ammonia systems in compliance with relevant gas and pressure equipment regulations.

    Primary Functions

    • Plant Operation: Operate, monitor, and adjust ammonia compressors, condensers, and cooling towers to meet production and temperature requirements.
    • Safety Compliance: Enforce all safety policies, incident safety responses, and protocols related to hazardous materials.
    • Inspections: Conduct thorough daily and weekly inspections of plant rooms, valve stations, and rack areas to prevent system breakdowns.
    • Maintenance Support: Perform preventative maintenance and assist in the servicing of pressurized ammonia systems.
    • Logging & Reporting: Accurately document plant readings, monitor energy consumption, and report any potential leakages or equipment failures immediately

    Financial management

    • Financial Reporting: Prepare operational budgets, manage cost control, and report on pack-out percentages, wastage, and throughput to executive management. 
    • Co-managing the budget of the section within approved amounts in a given financial year.

    Governance and communication

    • Liaise with other trading operations services sections and market sections to ensure all sections perform effectively.
    • Timely submission of accurate reports per agreed schedule or frequency.

    Client orientation and Customer Focus

    • Attend to queries of clients timeously.

    Food safety and quality control

    • Prevent irresponsible storage of contaminants on the floor (chemical, physical, biological).
    • Ensure that ripening and cold stores facilities are always kept clean and hygienic (obtain cleaning schedules from the relevant sections).
    • Obtain product chemical residues compliance status reports on top 20 products or all tested products whichever is the greatest, from Assignee responsible for the duties, where applicable.

    Appointment requirements

    • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent technical qualification.
    • Valid Category B Ammonia Refrigeration Practitioner certification (registered with SAQCC Gas or jurisdictional governing body).
    • Minimum 3+ years of relevant working experience in pressurized ammonia systems operation.
    • Trade Certificate (Mechanical or Electrical) or relevant technical diploma is advantageous.
    • Certified training in [Safe Handling] (such as SARACCA-approved courses).
    • Deep understanding of SANS 10147 and OHS Act requirements.

    Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician X2

    Job Description

    • We are seeking 2 E&I Technicians for a hands-on execution role supporting automation projects across the Automotive and Food & Beverage sectors. This is a technical delivery position focused on electrical and instrumentation installation, commissioning support, and quality workmanship, with no project management or client-facing responsibilities.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Trade Certificate: Electrician (Red Seal advantageous) or Millwright with instrumentation training
    • Formal Instrumentation qualification/certification (non-negotiable)
    • 3-5+ years' industrial E&I experience
    • Food & Beverage industry experience essential
    • Experience with system integrators or industrial automation companies preferred
    • Strong control panel building, FAT, and commissioning experience
    • Ability to interpret EPLAN drawings, single-line diagrams, and loop drawings
    • Valid driver's licence and reliable transport

    Advantageous Skills:

    • Siemens PLCs, VSDs, and instrumentation
    • EPLAN software
    • SCADA/HMI systems
    • MCCs and industrial networks
    • ATEX environments

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Execute electrical installations, panel building, MCC installation, cabling, and terminations to approved drawings
    • Install and terminate field instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level devices
    • Support loop checking, FATs, commissioning, and project handovers
    • Maintain accurate EPLAN redlining and as-built documentation
    • Conduct quality checks, inspections, and testing of completed work
    • Participate in panel build, site installation, and commissioning activities
