    Key Account Manager

    Purpose Of The Job

    • The incumbent is mainly responsible for the selling and executing McCain strategies and initiatives within the MEU’s by maintaining and driving profitable new business from existing customer base, build and nurture relationships with existing customers.


    Suitable Candidates Must Possess The Following Minimum Qualifications

    • A tertiary commercial or relevant. A post-graduate qualification would be advantageous;


    Suitable Candidates Must Have The Following Work Experience

    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in the FMCG market, more particularly in a Key Account Management/Sales role;
    • Minimum commercial degree/diploma - preference to Logistics, Sales, Marketing
    • Strong business insights, an ability to manage complexity and demonstrated decision quality;
    • Proven relationships with MEU’s partners ;
    • Demonstrate experience in developing sales strategies
    • Valid drivers license and own transport
       

    Suitable candidates will possess the following skills, abilities and knowledge:

    • Expert knowledge of principles, concepts, strategies and techniques relating to QSR and/or Food Service and/or Retail management and customer management;
    • Strong commercial acumen and financial knowledge of the Food Service, Retail, QSR and Hospitality sectors;
    • Insight into the latest national and international sales trends and how they impact on the collective business;
    • Strong ability to influence people and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and customers;
    • Ability to articulate the business strategy and business imperatives to internal as well as external stakeholders;
    • Excellent presentation and written and oral communication skills.

    Pallet Controller

    Purpose Of The Job

    • To ensure effective pallet management by working cost effectively, minimising variances and maintaining daily account reconciliations. To assist plants with queries regarding pallet disputes.


    Key Performance Areas

    Pallet Management:

    • Obtain daily pallet stock counts from Warehouse
    • Manage daily pallet reconciliation
    • Ensure daily update of CHEP documents
    • Monitor any outstanding transactions on VCS (Vector) and CCS depots, and ensure timeous processing
    • Manage daily transaction processes
    • Present weekly/daily pallet reconciliations to management
    • Control pallet movement to/from customers and depots
    • Manage Portfolio Plus
    • Resolve pallet stock variances
    • Check and verify documents for accuracy and signatures
    • File all pallet documentation
    • Liaise with warehouse and transport to resolve queries
    • Complete Adhoc Reconciliations
    • Complete monthly warehouse stock counts
    • Monitor and control stock in outside storage locations
    • Invoice deliveries from outside storage locations
    • Oversee cycle stock counts
    • Process purchase orders / credit notes
    • Manage and resolve dispute notes by obtaining relevant documentation
    • Co-ordinate pallet collections/Returns with transporter and customers

    Management and tracking of costs:

    • Process customer credits on SAP for pallets returned
    • Compile weekly cost reports;
    • Storage (McCain outside cold storages by Warehouse)
    • Transport (Primary, Secondary, Inter Bulk transport, Third party transport)
    • Pallets (Hire Charges, Relocation, Transfer Fee’s, Issue, Pass on Charges)

    Assist with scheduling and load co-ordination:

    • Follow through from order to delivery - follow up on customer orders daily each morning and confer with departments - sales, shipping, warehouse, expeditors or transporters in order to expedite or trace delayed or non-shipments.
    • Resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.
    • Inform the customer by telephone/email of the service delivery issue and engage with the customer on the best resolution of the problem.

    Assist with ad-hoc operational projects:

    • Consult and assist Supply Chain with operations at Factory level;
    • Assess opportunities for improvement from packing through to the cold chain (Storage, Staging, Loading)
    • Risk management and optimization of functions within cold chain
    • Re-evaluate the usage of the cold store to improve efficiency, cost saving and effectiveness
       





    Requirements

    • National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
    • CHEP - ECAP training - equipment controlling accreditation programme
    • 1-2 years Full CHEP pallet control within a large warehouse/D.C
       

    Person Specifications

    • Minimum of Matric / Grade 12
    • Multilingual
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Customer relations
    • Accurate with a disciplined work approach
    • A high level of attention to detail
    • Working knowledge of SAP warehouse systems
    • Working knowledge of CHEP Portfolio Plus
    • Computer literate (MS Office, Excel, Word and Windows)
    • Self-motivated with the desire for self-improvement
    • Excellent understanding of CHEP Pallet Management
