    Advertising Sales Manager

    Job Description

    • Media24 Media is looking for an experienced and visionary Advertising Sales Manager to spearhead our direct advertising sales efforts across multiple platforms, including Die Burger, Netwerk24, Die Son and News24. This leadership role requires a blend of strategic thinking, strong sales understanding, and the ability to guide the Western Cape Direct Sales Team to achieve sales targets and oversee and direct the team on day-to-day sales operations. This position will be pivotal in driving advertising revenue growth, providing expert guidance to the sales team, and fostering collaboration across departments.

    Technical Skills :

    • Proficiency in utilising digital advertising platforms, including Google Ads Manager (GAM), Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and LookerStudio Dashboards.
    • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging data analysis tools to identify commercial trends and opportunities, including experience with in-house tools like KAT24/CAT24.
    • Ability to extract insights from platforms like SimilarWeb and the IAB dashboard to assess the competitive landscape.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the direct Sales Portfolio, organising and planning for achieving team and individual targets set out by the business.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for Die Burger and SON -print portfolio to surpass revenue targets.
    • Lead and mentor the Direct Sales Team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration for continuous improvement.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital sales strategy for News24, Netwerk24, and Die Son to surpass digital revenue targets.
    • Provide strategic direction and insights to the team, ensuring alignment with client briefs, proposals, creative strategies, and industry best practices.
    • Collaborate and create sales opportunities across the business
    • To inform data-driven sales strategies and campaign planning and offer deep insights into audience segments, content areas, and industry trends.
    • Monitor and communicate campaign performance effectively internally and externally to ensure transparent communication and client satisfaction.
    • Lead by example in crafting and delivering impactful client presentations, working alongside team members to showcase the value of our digital offerings.
    • Drive collaboration among cross-functional teams, including AdOps, insights, editorial, and the product team, to ensure successful campaign execution.
    • Stay ahead of industry developments and emerging trends, equipping the Direct Sales Team with cutting-edge knowledge and strategies.
    • Estimates client’s needs and goals and structure solutions accordingly
    • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements with business operations.
    • Training, upskilling of self and assisting team members to develop their skills further

    Requirements:

    • Relevant qualification from a tertiary institution, preferably with a sales or marketing focus;
    • Proven track record of leadership and success in digital advertising sales, ideally within media or publishing.
    • In-depth understanding of digital advertising platforms, analytics tools, and industry dynamics.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for various audiences.
    • Strong sales, negotiation and relationship management skills;
    • Strong collaborative mindset with a history of working effectively across teams and departments.
    • Analytical orientation, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of independently driving results in a dynamic environment.
    • Adaptability to fast-paced and evolving circumstances.
    • Business acumen and related strategic and operational management experience;
    • In-depth knowledge of the media industry, with specific emphasis on newspapers and the digital arena
    • Personal drive, professionalism and integrity;

    IT Governance Specialist

    Purpose of the Role:

    • Reporting to the Head of Business Technology, the IT Governance Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing IT governance frameworks to ensure seamless alignment between IT strategies and business objectives. This role is essential for maintaining regulatory compliance, managing IT risks, and standardizing processes across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and implement comprehensive IT governance frameworks aligned with industry standards
    • Develop IT policies, procedures, and standards across the organisation
    • Create governance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Ensure alignment between IT strategy and business objectives
    • Monitor compliance with IT-related regulations
    • Conduct IT risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
    • Oversee IT audit activities and coordinate with internal/external auditors
    • Manage IT compliance reporting and documentation
    • Develop and monitor IT performance metrics and dashboards
    • Conduct IT service level agreement (SLA) reviews and assessments
    • Identify opportunities for IT process improvements and automation
    • Standardise IT service delivery processes across business units
    • Implement change management procedures for IT systems and processes
    • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within IT operations
    • Ensure proper documentation of IT processes and procedures

    Required Qualifications

    • Post graduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field

    Experience and Competencies

    • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in IT governance or related fields
    • Proven experience with IT governance frameworks
    • Background in IT audit, compliance, or risk management
    • Knowledge of enterprise architecture and IT service management
    • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and data protection requirements
    • Strong understanding of business processes and operations
    • Understanding of regulatory requirements across different industries
    • Ability to translate business requirements into IT governance controls
    • Strategic thinking and business analysis capabilities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong facilitation and meeting management skills
    • Influence and negotiation capabilities
    • Successful implementation of IT governance frameworks
    • Compliance with established IT policies and procedures
