    Future Pro - Merchandising & Licensing

    Position Summary 

    • The Future Pro – Merchandising and Licensing will support inventory management, product development, and licensing coordination across NBA Africa and BAL retail operations. This role involves market research, presentation development, merchandise tracking, and in-arena retail support. It also contributes to stock reconciliation and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure merchandising efforts align with brand and business goals. 

    Major Responsibilities

    Retail & Merchandising Operations 

    • Provide operational and administrative support for daily workflows and seasonal initiatives 
    • Assist with stock intake, reconciliation, and organization to maintain inventory accuracy 
    • Track and distribute staff merchandise across departments in a timely manner 

    Strategic Support 

    • Develop presentations, reports, and meeting documentation to inform decision-making 
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to guide product assortment and pricing strategies 

    Cross-Functional Collaboration 

    • Work with marketing, events, and logistics teams to align merchandising with brand objectives 
    • Support in-arena retail operations, including point-of-sale setup, customer service, and post-event reporting 

    Required Skills/Knowledge 

    • Highly organized and able to work independently

    Experience Needed

    Future Pro- Guest Experience

    Position Summary

    • The Future Pro– Guest Experience will support the Guest Experience Manager in delivering exceptional hospitality and operational support for VIPs, partners, and key stakeholders at BAL and NBA Africa events. This entry-level role is ideal for a motivated individual eager to learn about sports event management, guest services and cross-functional teamwork in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

    Major Responsibilities

    Guest Support & Logistics 

    • Assist with the coordination of guest logistics, including travel, accommodation, transportation, and on-site support. 
    • Help manage guest registration, accreditation, and welcome processes. 
    • Support the preparation and distribution of guest materials (welcome packs, itineraries, tickets, etc.). 

    Event Operations 

    • Provide on-site support during BAL and NBA Africa events, ensuring guests receive timely assistance and information. 
    • Help set up and manage guest service areas, hospitality lounges, and VIP zones. 
    • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve minor issues with professionalism and courtesy. 

    Cross-Departmental Coordination 

    • Liaise with other departments (Events, Security, Communications, etc.) to ensure guest needs are met. 
    • Attend internal meetings and contribute to planning discussions as needed. 
    • Assist in tracking guest-related tasks and deadlines to ensure smooth execution. 

    Reporting & Continuous Improvement 

    • Collect guest feedback and help prepare post-event reports. 
    • Document lessons learned and suggest improvements for future events. 
    • Support the Guest Experience Manager in maintaining accurate records and guest databases. 

    Required Skills/Knowledge

    • Willingness to travel extensively during the BAL season.
    • Passion for African sports and culture.
    • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn.
    • Fluent in English and French; other languages a plus.
    • Passion for sports and guest service is highly valued.

    Experience Needed

    Future Pro: Media Distribution - NBA Africa & BAL

    Position Summary  

    • The Future Pro – Media Distribution will support NBA Africa’s media team in expanding media rights revenue and distribution across Francophone Africa, including the Basketball Africa League (BAL). This role involves assisting with B2B account management, partner onboarding, market analysis, and marketing activations. It offers hands-on exposure to the evolving media landscape and opportunities to contribute to NBA Africa’s commercial growth. 

    Major Responsibilities  

    Market Intelligence & Sales Support 

    • Compile media rights data and conduct basic market analysis to inform planning and partner engagement 
    • Assist with onboarding new media partners, renewals, and upsells 
    • Help prepare consultative sales presentations using NBA marketing solutions and industry insights 

    Partner Management & Operations 

    • Organize files, track updates, and support due diligence documentation 
    • Assist with administrative tasks related to partner management and business operations 
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of partner deliverables 

    Marketing Activations & Programming 

    • Support planning and execution of marketing campaigns for NBA and BAL events (e.g., Start-of-Season, All-Star Weekend) 
    • Collaborate with the Africa marketing team and New York GMD Business Operations team to align partner activities 
    • Help manage logistics and updates related to partner activations 

    Reporting & Data Coordination 

    • Collect and organize viewership and subscription data from partners 
    • Contribute to regular reporting cycles and performance tracking

This role includes assisting with partner activation, event support, and the creation of commercial materials. It offers hands-on experience in sponsorship management, relationship building, and strategic marketing within a dynamic sports environment. 

    Major Responsibilities  

    • Assist with partner activation and ensure deliverables are met across campaigns and events 
    • Support relationship management with existing and prospective partners 
    • Provide on-site support during events and activations 
    • Help develop commercial decks and presentations using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word 
    • Contribute to lead generation and business development efforts 

    Required Skills/Knowledge 

    • Fluent in English and French 
    • Adaptable and comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments 
    • Able to work under pressure, especially during peak season 
    • Proactive and committed to exceeding expectations 

    Experience Needed 

    • 2 years of postgraduate work experience in sponsorship, marketing, business development, or relationship management
