    Assistant Unit Leader - NRC Olivedale

    ROLE SUMMARY
    The Assistant Unit Leader will focus on the delivery of quality competent nursing care. The incumbent will act as a clinical resource and leader in the Renal specialty, performing functions at an advanced level competently and consistently.
    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • To provide optimal patient care as per the nursing scope of practice and NRC’s clinical care pathways.
    • To perform dialysis according to prescription in a safe manner and in accordance to NRC’s internal policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that all patient clinical records are maintained and updated in accordance with the deadlines, policies & procedures and the NRC standards.
    • Manage and maintain all medical equipment in accordance with NRC’s technical policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that all financial policies and procedures are followed in the unit i.e. confirmation, billing, private patients, stock, waste etc.
    • Ensure that your knowledge is constantly updated regarding Nephrology nursing in order to aid you in providing an optimal dialysis service and education and training to patients,new staff and patient’s families.
    • Ensure that all NRC quality initiative programs are utilised for the patients under your management.
    • Responsible for leading the shift and for the supervision of all subcategories on the floor on a daily basis and to perform the functions of the Unit Leader in his/ her absence.

    REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree) or equivalent NQF 7 qualification
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/HPCSA
    • Proven Leadership abilities a prerequisite Computer proficiency (MS Office)
    • A Minimum of 3 years’ renal experience will be an advantage.

    Registered Nurse/Clinical Technologist - Rover - NRC Area Kwa-Zulu Natal

    ROLE SUMMARY
    The Registered Nurse/Clinical Technologist (Independent Practice) will render and promote cost effective, safe, quality patient care in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.     Technical Administrator - NRC Area Cape

    ROLE SUMMARY

    • Support the Technical Department in administrative activities to ensure accurate technical reporting.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Process and receive job cards for technical equipment repairs from relevant suppliers andcompare these against the machine registry.
    • Receive final invoices from the relevant supplier.
    • Submit approved invoices to the creditors department for payment.
    • Act as a liaison between the creditors department and the relevant supplier by resolving all queries timeously.
    • Monitor accounts on a monthly basis to determine unjust spending trends in order to take corrective action.
    • Provide telephonic support to units regarding best practices and technical policies and procedures.
    • Liaise with pathology laboratories regarding anomalies of water test conducted in the units
    • Receive unit summary report, reconcile with Technical Equipment Asset Management register and update accordingly.
    • Compile and maintain the technical equipment repairs register.
    • Receive and update the repair and maintenance general ledger from finance. Compare repair and maintenance accrual vs. actual spend and submit to National Technical Manager.
    • Collect and collate quarterly TTS test data from the units and calculate the National TTS score.
    • Maintain reporting templates including but not limited to the Machine Registries and Unit Summary Report.
    • Receive and collate data biannually from RO chemical tests conducted in the units.
    • Assist National Technical Manager with data mining when compiling the annual technical budget.
    • Maintain PPT assignment stock levels and distribute nationally.
    • Assume responsibility for own personal and professional development
    • Keep up to date with National Renal Cares evolving policies and procedures
    • Actively participate in social responsibility programs.
    • Any ad-hoc duties as and when required.

    REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
    • Tertiary Education in administration would be beneficial
    • 3-5 years previous experience in an administrative environment
    • Experience within a technical environment
    • Experience is assets and stock management
    • Fully Computer Literate and proficient in MS Office
    • Experience in SOP drafting (ISO)

    Health Care Worker - NRC - RCH Ladysmith

    ROLE SUMMARY

    • The Health Care Worker will be tasked to assist in attending to and maintaining the basic needs of the patient.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Ensure a safe and optimal dialysis service by prepping and cleaning dialysis machines prior to each patient dialysis session as per policies & procedures and NRC standards.
    • Ensure that the unit generator is in working condition by completing the daily, weekly and monthly maintenance inspections, logging technical issues and refuelling the generator with diesel as and when required.
    • Ensure that all financial policies and procedures are followed in the unit i.e. stock, waste
    • Ensure excellent customer service and patient care by ordering and serving patients their meals in line with dietary requirements and NRC policies and procedures.
    • Maintain a safe work ethic and a safe dialysis environment by complying with infection control and occupational health and Safety standards on a daily basis.
    • Ensure that you are continuously educated regarding the Health care worker function in the unit and that your related knowledge is constantly updated.
    • Ensuring a safe dialysis session by testing of the machine alarms prior to each dialysis session to ensure that they are operational.

    REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Grade 12 level of numeracy and literacy
    • A Minimum of 1-year experience within a similar role is preferred.
    • A minimum of 1-year experience within renal will be advantageous
