Introduction

• To provide alternate & renewable energy and discipline specific electrical engineering support services to company engineers and its clients, including analysis, design and construction monitoring duties while supporting the broader business, values and vision.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Business Development and Support (tender management, proposal development)
• Internal Project Management, Health and Safety, Administration & Quality Mgt Procedures
• Project Delivery (support to project teams & CTO regarding all aspects of design, costing, reporting, adjudication, construction, operational and monitoring processes)

Alternate & Renewable Energy Support Services

•  Support the feasibility, data analysis, basic and detailed design and development of alternate & renewable energy systems (incl. electrical schematics & diagrams, site inspections and surveys and engineering calculations)
•  Collaborate with project managers to develop project timelines and budgets and manage quality.
•  Provide technical support to technicians and other contracted engineers on renewable energy projects.
•  Assisting with training and mentoring of in-training engineers/technologists.
•  Commit to health, safety and environment protocols and ensure zero harm to all employees, clients, contractors with zero environmental incidents.

Desired Experience, Qualification and other requirements

•  B. Eng (Electrical) degree.
•  A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of electrical systems and/or
• renewable energy technologies and the basic requirements of other disciplines that
• interface to these electrical systems.

 Added advantage:

• A minimum of 10 years technical and practical experience, post qualification, in Alternative & Renewable Energy systems and projects including PV, wind and other alternative energy systems.
• Capabilities to include feasibility studies, technical & economic duediligence, analysis, design, documentation, construction monitoring and preventative maintenance of solar generation, battery storage, invertors, UPS, Hydrogen technologies, wind generation and other alternative energy systems.
• Knowledge of the SSEG regulatory environment for the integration with the utility grid, code compliance and associated legislation is required.
• A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements, i.e., IEC, SANS, NRS.
• Proficiency in applicable electrical & alternate/renewable energy design & analysis software.
•  A sound knowledge of MS OFFICE software is essential such as Excel, Word,
• PowerPoint, Teams, Projects etc.
•  RSA driver’s licence and own transport/vehicle for site/meeting us

Requirements:

•  B.Sc(Eng) / B.Eng in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
•  Experience in developing custom applications for accessing, managing, and presenting data
•  Previous exposure to the energy sector will be advantageous
•  Previous exposure to the linux OS will be advantageous
•  Excellent Communication skills
•  Own transport

The position will be based at our offices operating out of Sandton, Johannesburg, with intermittent
local travel within Gauteng to client’s sites. Own vehicle with driver’s license necessary. No two days

Job Profile:
The graduate will form part of the project development and asset management teams and report to
the Design, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (DEPC) Manager.
The role could include but not be limited to:

•  Support, plan and manage project development activities for energy efficiency and generation projects. This may include but is not limited to the preparation of proposals, tender submissions, and costing estimates.
•  Conduct site assessments for the development of energy projects.
•  Coordinate and manage external suppliers and contractors for energy projects.
•  Perform and or support quality inspections of PV and other energy technology installations during the project execution phase.
•  Conduct PV simulation studies to support the development of PV projects.
•  Provide technical support and input during the execution of energy measurement and audit engagements.
•  Design and implement software programs to monitor renewable energy installations and which support business internal processes
•  Support and or manage the analysis of data collected during energy measurements and audit engagements.
•  Assist with report writing of energy measurement and audit projects.
•  Support the DEPC process by contributing to the Company’s technology roadmap, software tools, technical engineering capability and project management processes.
•  Develop, refine, or evaluate energy input assessments and power output expectations. Perform or oversee analyses to optimize site layouts and equipment selection to maximize performance and minimize lifecycle costs for energy projects.
•  Support the activities of designers, consultants, and contractors to achieve efficient use of resources, meet deadlines for deliverables, minimize delays, avoid crises, and resolve conflicts for projects.
•  Support the DEPC team through the ongoing search for improved system cost and performance by contributing to evaluations of new technologies, systems, and components, and be versed in emerging regulations, technologies, and techniques in the clean energy industry.

•  Assist with the analysis of energy and water usage.
•  Support the coordination and management of suppliers and contractors for energy & water projects.
•  Assist with PV simulation studies to support the development of PV projects.
•  Provide support and input during energy & water measurement and audit engagements.
•  Provide support and execute the installation of energy meters during energy measurement and audit engagements.
•  Support and or manage the analysis of data collected during energy & water measurements and audit engagements.
•  Assist with report writing of energy & water measurement and audit projects.
•  Support the continuous improvement of the Company through doing research on new technology, software tools, technical engineering capability and project management processes.
•  Perform or oversee analyses to optimize site layouts and equipment selection to maximize
