    Analyst Programmer

    Job Description

    The key objectives of OMIG’s Analyst Programmers are to facilitate, develop and implement multi-disciplinary cross-functional data projects and to provide support to the business in respect of OMIG’s existing data capabilities. The role requires extensive involvement in all phases of the agile development lifecycle, from analysis and development through to testing and deployment.

    • Primary interface to investment professional and the development and maintenance of proprietary business applications

    • Liaise with the OMIG business units and the rest of OMIG IT to develop functional specifications.

    • Develop ETL data process flows as per business specifications.

    • Develop technical specifications documenting solutions for projects.

    • Test plans and test packs

    • Solution implementation and code deployment. 

    • Query optimisation and troubleshooting job failures.

    • Keep users informed of progress through effective communication.

    • Work on multiple projects at the same time

    • Develop, support and maintain various reports using SQL, SSRS and PowerBI

    Job requirements

    • A graduate with majors in Information Systems or Computer Science

    • At least 2 years’ experience in a DWH Development environment

    • At least 2 years’ experience in Asset Management industry or in the related financial services industry

    • At least 2-3 years’ experience in technical problem solving and software development

    • Financial markets knowledge (preferable)

    • Business Process Analysis & Design (preferable)

    Specific Skills Desired:

    • Experience in Financial services business analysis and software development

    • Experience in T-SQL and SQL 2017 (or older), query construction, query optimisation.

    • Experience in ETL development using tools like SSIS, InfoStore or any other.

    • Experience with C# .NET, Devops and agile development

    • Exposure to Angular, .Net Core, Entity Framework, Python C++ would be advantageous.

    • Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (Integration, Analysis and Reporting Services)

    • Experience in Data Modeling (Metadata, Content, Taxonomy, Navigation, ERDs)

    • Experience with Microsoft Flow and Teams would be advantageous.

    Job Description

    This role manages a sales team and distribution strategy and is accountable for the sales targets and profitability of the team, over periods of up to a year.
    The position has been identified as a FAIS position and falls within the ambit contemplated by FAIS related to Category B. The successful candidates must therefore comply with all FAIS requirements, including the Fit and Proper requirements of Honesty and Integrity (e.g. be clear of any offence relating to fraud, dishonesty and/or any professional misconduct) as well as competence and relevant qualifications.

    Senior Analyst Programmer

    Job Description

    The key objectives of the Senior Analyst Programmer are to facilitate, develop and implement multi-disciplinary cross-functional data projects and to provide support to the business in respect of OMIG’s existing data capabilities. The role requires extensive involvement in all phases of the agile development lifecycle, from analysis and development through to testing and deployment.

    • Partner with the investment boutiques and professional partner teams to scope business requirements and identify where data can have the greatest impact from a BI perspective

    • Facilitate the development & implementation of multi-disciplinary cross-functional BI projects

    • Provide support to the business in respect of OMIG’s existing BI capabilities

    • Effective planning and prioritising of multi-disciplinary cross-functional BI projects.

    • Assist with solution design and implement best practices from a software development perspective.

    • Provide thought leadership on the latest technologies and advances in software development.

    • Provide guidance to junior members in the context of adhering to best practices development standards

    • Keep stakeholders informed of progress through regular, effective communication.

    • Collaborate with data owners to increase BI reporting capabilities

    • Develop against OMIG’s Data Architecture reference model, Data Spectrum and Taxonomy.

    • Liaise with stakeholders to coordinate data sources, eliminate duplication, while focusing on data quality and reliability in BI models

    Job Requirements:

    • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Management and/or Business Analysis or equivalent.

    • At least 10 years’ business/system analysis experience, including system development and implementation of large-scale projects related to information/knowledge management.

    • At least 5 years’ experience in asset management or 8 years financial services experience.

    • Extensive experience in both Backend and Frontend Development.

    • Knowledge of data governance practices, regulatory requirements and emerging trends.

    • Working knowledge of financial instruments, investment processes and industry terminology.

    • Business Process Analysis & Design.

    • Software Engineering experience.

    • Project Management experience.

    • Exposure to Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or Enterprise Architect roles (advantageous)

    • Exposure to Microsoft CRM Dynamics, SQL Server Business Intelligence and Metadata Management software (advantageous)

    • The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification (advantageous)
