    Head of Product: ooba Home Loans

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Product Lead that we are looking for should have the necessary skills and competencies to develop new & enhance existing solutions that are valuable (bought and used by our clients), viable (works within the constraints of the current market and our business), usable (well designed and simple) and feasible (within our means to develop).

    The mandate of this role is, through deep business analysis, product development and delivery management expertise, to facilitate the product development lifecycle and enable high quality strategic decision making that ensures we meet our group’s strategic objectives. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Key Performance Areas

    • Opportunity discovery and product design
    • Identify opportunities for new solutions and/or services
    • Track industry and competitor activity
    • Perform analysis of requirements and facilitate collaborate design to produce feasible, value adding product and/or service propositions
    • Validate new opportunities in terms of value, viability, and feasibility
    • Develop business plans, financial models, feasibility analysis and go to market strategies
    • Develop the product-market fit for new products and services
    • Product, Customer & Channel value proposition design & delivery
    • Develop product roadmaps and development plans
    • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and testable prototypes
    • Lead solutions delivery with cross-functional teams
    • Deliver on product milestones through collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders
    • Collaboratively develop operational execution plans that can transition new products and services into the appropriate area of existing operations
    • Support all aspects of product commercialization and operationalisation including OHL pricing policy and review
    • Customer value proposition design & delivery
    • Channel value proposition design & delivery
    • Customer Experience design & delivery (in conjunction with CE Manager)
    • Take-to-Market design & delivery (in conjunction with Marketing team)
    • Project Management
    • Initiate projects linked to OHL business, including business case development and ownership
    • Lead project prioritization process
    • Lead project definition and scoping process
    • Manage delivery of key project milestones through to delivery alongside Strategic Business Enablement (SBE) team
    • Ensure timeous project delivery on-time, to spec and within budgeted cost parameters alongside SBE team

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Qualification & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or greater in business, sciences, engineering, or technology.
    • Demonstrable experience in the use of modern product discovery and delivery technique.
    • 10 years’ experience working in retail and/or financial services industry, preferably on technology-powered products as either a business owner, product manager, product designer, engineer, or analyst.
    • Demonstrable experience successfully driving and managing products within a multi-product environment from ideation through launch in the start-up phases
    • Product strategy and ideation, product-market fit, road map and dual-track agile
    • Experience in developing new markets and managing sales channel mix
    • Scaling up newly established product offerings using a lean start up approach
    • Proven ability to combine the required disciplines of multiple functional business areas in support of bringing new products and services to the market (i.e. technology, design, finance, sales, marketing, operations, and change).
    • Proven ability to engage with developers/engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative manner that achieves successful product delivery.
    • Fintech, Proptech, and / or financial services experience would be an advantage.

    • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret customer needs, market and competitive conditions and then translate these into product enhancement strategies

    Business Intelligence Solutions Engineer

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • The Business Information team is looking for a dynamic individual to help them maximise the value embedded in ooba's data.
    • The role includes approximately 50% engineering and architecture duties that will require this person to collaborate to define and implement the BI roadmap.
    • The balance of the role is BI development and governance. This includes SQL development, BI publisher template development, PBI development as well as loading of data into systems for relevant reporting. 
    • They must be able to analyse data and understand how to use it. Ultimately using this insight to create the relevant data structures and create the reports required.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    BI and data Roadmap Planning:

    • Develop and communicate a strategic plan for the ooba's BI and data infrastructure, encompassing ETL processes, data models, reporting tools, and cloud migration strategies which will be clearly outlined in a roadmap.
    • Create end-to-end data solutions, considering cloud-native technologies, ETL optimizations, and data modeling best practices.

    Reporting Excellence:

    • Collaborate to development interactive and insightful reports using tools like PowerBI, catering to the specific needs of stakeholders across the organization.
    • Collaborate on report visualization and delivery methods to meet the business needs.
    • Creation of robust data extracts for analysis purposes and ensuring that this code is reusable when required elsewhere and these extracts become reports as required.

    Data Governance and Compliance:

    • Implement and enforce robust data governance policies, ensuring data security, quality and compliance with industry regulations and ooba's architectural and security standards.
    • Code reviews, implementation reviews and sizing reviews of internal and external deliverables.
    • Implement performance and health monitoring of BI systems, data integrations and reports performance and delivery.

    Continuous Improvement and Training:

    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the data pipeline, while also conducting training sessions for team members and end-users on new technologies and practices.
    • Create the data structures, SQL queries, views etc. on which reports will be based and deliver reports in the BI  technologies available at ooba.

    Other duties and things to consider

    • Unified Data Model implementation: Implement a unified PowerBI data model, providing a cohesive structure for diverse data sources and facilitating seamless reporting and analytics.
    • Cloud Migration Execution: If justified and we decide to go this route. Lead the execution of the cloud migration plan, ensuring a smooth transition of data solutions to cloud platforms while minimizing disruptions.
    • ETL Optimization: Continuously optimize ETL processes for efficiency, scalability, and reliability, ensuring timely and accurate data extraction, transformation and loading.
    • Consolidation and Integration: Establish and maintain a consolidated database that integrates data from various sources, emphasizing data quality, integrity and accessibility.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between tchnical and non-technical teams, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data needs and align solutions accordingly.
    • Help to analyse/identify and implement data fixes.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years of recent BI Developer (or Oracle SQL)
    • Microsoft Power BI and MS Excel advanced
    • Relational database systems
    • Working on an enterprise level BI development platform
    • Data Science or ICT diploma/degree
