    Insure Adviser Assistant

    Job description:

    • To provide underwriting assistance to the Short Term Advisers. The position will focus on personal and commercial lines business.

    Responsibilities:

    • Liaising with clients
    • Preparing quotations for new and existing clients
    • Issuing new policies, renewals and endorsements
    • Building and maintaining good working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
    • Recording details and information on the relevant systems
    • Administration of claims procedures, renewal of policies and new business
    • Assist with product quotes
    • Underwriting
    • Claims

    Minimum Requirements:

    • NQF 4 in Short Term Insurance or relevant B.Com financial Degree (essential)
    • 3 - 5 years short-term insurance experience
    • RE5 Certificate successfully completed (Regulatory examination for Representatives) - advantageous
    • DOFA (Date of First Appointment at FSCA)
    • Proficient in both spoken and written English, and at least one other of the official South African languages

    Paraplanner

    Job description:

    • We require a Paraplanner to provide an efficient administrative support function to Advisers. In this role you will be allocated a portfolio of clients to assist with processing transactions, dealing with clients directly, looking after accounts and support in basic financial planning. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Financial Planning support
    • Formulate effective financial plan documents and/or risk management documents, in-line with the strategy as outlined by the adviser, and the customer’s needs, objectives and risk tolerance. All documents must meet compliance requirements and the relevant legislation, and comply with the company standard documents, policies and procedures.
    • Prepare statement of advice documentation as required.
    • Review customer portfolio review reports in conjunction with changes in customer circumstances and investments and general market movement, as outlined in the sales and service process. Ensure report is accurate and that investment strategy is meeting customer’s objectives. Ensure customer is kept well informed and that all necessary actions are recommended and where necessary undertaken.
    • Review customers risk coverage in conjunction with changes in customer circumstances and risk management needs, product offerings available, and changes in product provider rates.      Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor through scanning of new and existing legislation updates to ensure that the company's operations remain in full compliance with all applicable laws.

    Senior Internal Auditor - General

    Job Overview:

    • We are looking for an objective Senior internal auditor to add value and improve our operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
    • The successful candidate possesses a good knowledge of risk and control within the Financial Services Sector, in particular the Wealth and Investment management industry, as well as insurance, stock broking, and financial planning.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform risk assessments and integrated reviews to identify high-risk areas that require focus.

    Conduct internal audits to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls as well as the effectiveness of risk management, compliance, and governance within the business, including:

    • Pre- and post-implementation reviews of system implementations or enhancements.
    • Reviews of management policies and procedures to ensure that controls are adequately implemented and operating effectively.
    • Provide the business with guidance and recommendations on risk management,
    • Perform data analytics.

    Within each audit assignment, being responsible for:

    • Walkthroughs
    • Key risk and key control identification
    • Defining testing strategies
    • Population analysis
    • Sample selections
    • Perform fieldwork and control effectiveness testing.
    • Consolidate findings and agreed action plans.
    • Create and finalise internal audit reports.
    • Execute internal audits within predetermined timeframes.
    • Conduct peer reviews and follow-up activities across the group.
    • Build strong relationships within the business and other layers of defence.
    • Mentor and coach juniors on the job.
    • Report to the Chief Audit Executive.
    • Possible travelling across the group for audit activities.

    Minimum requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or other relevant discipline such as Internal Auditing
    • CIA or CA(SA)
    • At least 3 years of hands-on auditing experience or newly qualified CA (SA)
    • Have internal or external auditing experience (within the Financial Services Sector or in a similar role)
    • Strong technical skills
