    Key Account Representative (B2B: New Business Development)

    Job Description

    • The RCL FOODS Talent Team is currently looking for a passionate Key Account Representative with impressive communication, interpersonal & problem-solving abilities to support the Customer Executive in the development of new business opportunities across categories such as Sugar, Milling, Spreads, Creams, Breading, and Plant-based raw material.
    • A strong sense of curiosity, a passion for developing new business, and an ability to take plans from strategy through to flawless execution will favour candidates.

    The role will be based in Johannesburg or Pretoria West and report directly to the National Account Manager.
    Minimum Requirements    

    • Completed a relevant Tertiary Qualification.
    • At least 3 years of Sales or Marketing experience in a customer-facing environment, specifically within the FMCG food manufacturing environment.
    • Proven ability to establish positive working relationships with key customers. Business-to-Business experience will be an advantage.
    • Solid background in analysis and insight generation.
    • Valid Driver’s License & own vehicle.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • New Customer Development
    • Collaborate with Customer Marketing and the sales team to identify market opportunities and customer development pipeline.
    • Analyse internal and external data to identify and size new opportunities.
    • Maintain pipeline tracker and report on progress vs targets
    • Develop tailored solutions for new customer approaches.
    • Identify unmet product needs in market for consideration for innovation.
    • Manage NPD launches from factory to store in accordance with the launch plan.
    • Build relationships and work closely with BU Technical support and BU Supply Chain specialists.
    • Develop proposals, negotiate terms and conditions and implement contractual agreements with assigned national accounts accountability for delivering strong financial results.
    • Build and share knowledge of new business development skills, tools and approaches.
    • Develop and maintain product knowledge of the Milling industry and RCL Foods products in particular.
    • Act as an active ambassador of RCL Foods at the customer and of the customer at RCL Foods.

    Account Management

    • Develop account strategies in accordance with the overall channel strategy.
    • Conduct regular reviews of business performance.
    • Manage and develop strong day-to-day relationships with the Industrial key account managers and NAM’s.
    • Seek out and propose new product innovation, new channels and new business.
    • Forecast demand and feed that into the S&OP process.
    • Monitor market trends, competitive activities and new products.
    • Continuously review and monitor pricing to ensure RCL Foods remains competitive with the highest profitability possible.
    • Report meeting results and follow up with all cross-functional groups to capitalise on sales opportunities.
    • Ensure that customer demands in terms of food safety, sustainability and quality issues are met.
    • Attend sales meetings as required.
    • Be an internal account champion, assuring clear and regular communication to key company managers and coordinating finance, commercial, demand and supply planning, marketing and new product development for the account.

    Account Financial Management

    • Drive the achievement of the key account sales budgets in terms of volume.
    • Oversee the processing of all claims.
    • Forecast, budget and track account revenues and cost.
    • Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly sales margins and goals.
    • Provide monthly feedback to the Channel Executive indicating the progress on volume vs budget.

    Wholesale Category Manager

    Job Description

    • Our Talent Team are currently looking for a dynamic Wholesale Category Manager within our Customer Marketing team to be based in Westville. The role will report into the Customer Marketing Executive.

    RCL Foods entrusts the Wholesale Category Manager to:

    • Facilitate collaboration between the customer, distributor and internal stakeholders to determine the point of optimisation in pricing, promotion, shelving, and assortment to maximise profitability and shopper/trader satisfaction by collecting and interpreting the latest industry trends, leveraging available data and utilising best-in-class technology from leading solution providers.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • A degree or diploma in marketing or business management (3 years).
    • Valid Code EB drivers’ licence.
    • 3 years relevant experience in a similar environment.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Category Management:
    • Analyse shelf health (on-shelf availability, right forward share, best shelf/Pallet position) for both consumer and trader.
    • Analyse pricing data (from relevant pricing tools) for consumer and trader.
    • Monitor product availability, visibility and affordability and consolidate feedback into actionable plans for the customer team to implement.
    • Use and leverage specific category insights.
    • Execute brand standards (brand DNA) and support development and execution wholesale-specific brand standards.
    • Measure and review category performance; wholesale margins and customer profitability.
    • Clean and analyse scan data provided by customers/
    • Create specific shelf planograms for customers/categories, ensuring fair share of shelf.
    • Conduct periodic updates of planograms with new launches.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of planograms and ranging to ensure maximised shelf efficiency.

    Information Analysis, Management and Reporting:

    • Provide detailed and precise reports to illustrate trends, predictions and relevant strategies.
    • Analyse and interpret key data (Asked data).
    • Provide regular reports on category results.
    • Assist in the production of reports, data, presentations and any other items deemed necessary to support the sales function.

    New Product Launching:

    • Develop and deliver new product launch plans in the trade, with required analysis and feedback for both the consumer and trader.
    • Support new product introductions for listing into mix.
    • Co-ordinate all wet demos.

    Customer Relationship Management:

    • Ensure that critical customer information is available to the customer team and internal stakeholders.
    • Identify customer information requirements.
    • Follow up and ensure that sales team initiatives (customer plans) are effectively implemented with the identified customers.
    • Prepare, analyse and present category reviews to customers and interact with customers on assortment analysis, category performance and ranging.

    Category Planning:

    • Support the annual joint business planning process through data analysis and opportunity identification.
    • Run customer-specific category management projects.
    • Integrate research insights into the category process for actionable on-ground deliverables.
    • Develop proposals and recommendations for customers in executing category management projects.
    • Drive category management projects.
    • Liaise with the operations team to ensure smooth implementation.

    Performance Evaluation:

    • Measure and review category performance and customer profitability.
    • Compile and consolidate business dashboards, scorecards and measurement.
    • Conduct category performance analysis (incl. causes of deviation). Identify opportunities

    Financial Management:

    • Manage the trade show budgets within agreed limits and ensure that all initiatives are shown to be commercially sound.

    • RCL Foods is on the hunt for a Time and Attendance Clerk. The main objective of the Time and Attendance Clerk is to maintain and update employee hours on the SAP system to ensure accuracy before every payroll run.

    Minimum Requirements
