    Management Accountant - Cape Town

    Purpose of the position: 

     

    • Responsible for the gathering and analysing of financial information, supporting and developing budgets, reporting, information dissemination and analysis. This role will provide direct support to the financial manager/financial management team including month end processes, audit preparation and execution and other ad hoc tasks.  

    Minimum Requirements    

    • CA (SA) and minimum 1 years’ experience as an Accountant / Cost Accountant; or equivalent combination of education and experience   
    • Knowledge of financial accounting systems  
    • A valid driver’s licence 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft packages  
    • Clear credit and criminal record 

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Prepare project specific and organisational budgets/financial reports as and when needed  
    • Budget development in support of new business activities  
    • Ensuring that organisational policies are taken into account in all budgeting processes 
    • Develop and update appropriate templates to assist in budget consolidation and may need to interact with sub-awardees and review budgets prepared by sub-awardees to ensure quality standards are maintained, if applicable
    • Review budgets/forecasts prepared by others to ensure quality standards are maintained
    • Facilitate accurate forecasting for projects
    • Maintain and builds productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders (funders, government, auditors etc.)

    Regional Manager - Durban

    Purpose of the position:

     

    • The Regional Manager will lead a dynamic team that provides operational management and technical support across all aspects of the Priority Population Prevention Programme. The focus is to provide direct service delivery implementation support, in conjunction with technical assistance and evaluation of health interventions.  The regional manager will support and monitor HIV and TB clinical cascades to ensure integrated TB and HIV screening, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and continuity of care to strengthen the health system. The incumbent will be fluent with PEPFAR (CDC) initiatives and Department of Health objectives in order to balance funder and NDoH priorities. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Bachelor’s Degree in MBChB, B. Cur or equivalent degree/diploma plus MPH or equivalent qualification
    • HIV and TB clinical management
    • Financial management
    • Organisational QI methodology
    • Minimum of 5 years senior project/programme management level experience in a relevant programme area/field (preferably in the NGO sector)
    • Experience in drafting final project/programme budget and work plans for high level stakeholders
    • Experience in drafting final performance report at project/programme level for high level stakeholders
    • Experience in QI implementation and formal clinical facilitation will be advantageous
    • Demonstrate ability to interpret and utilise complex programmatic data at a senior management level
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office
    • Valid registration with SANC or HPCSA
    • Willingness to travel extensively, as required
    • Ability to communicate in isiZulu and English
    • Valid code 08 driver’s licence

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Advocates for integrated TB and HIV screening, diagnosis and treatment as well as continuity of care through UTT, HIVSS, community-based ART initiation and adherence to antiretroviral therapy
    • Adopts targeted screening for TB and STI amongst high-risk populations
    • Develops and coordinates the implementation of differentiated care models to strengthen the health system and render integrated TB/HIV and STI care to achieve the global targets including 95-95-95 for TB and HIV, and 70-70-70 for STIs
    • Collaborates closely with districts and the province to ensure that health systems within the district address individual, family and community capacity to increase consumer awareness and behaviour change and promote health, prevent diseases, and enhance the appropriate use of health services, including mental health, youth health, HIV and AIDS, TB and non-communicable diseases
    • Evaluates health interventions adopting QI methodology to analyse TB and HIV screening outcomes
    • Supports the use of robust electronic data collection systems to assess the provision of health interventions, and sets up rapid appraisals, and in-depth evaluations
    • Fosters an environment in which research aspects of TB and HIV care can succeed
    • Supports the implementation of improvement projects and innovations in health facilities
    • Supports facility, district and provincial QI reporting and data utilisation, linked to operational microplanning
    • Ensure the team is adequately trained and resourced to meet objectives
    • Perform annual performance appraisals
    • Chair disciplinary enquiries
    • Provide the team with a vision and motivate and inspire team members
    • Coach, mentor and develop team members
    • Assists the programme director in drafting programme budgets and to monitor and control resource utilisation for optimal cost efficiency, value and impact.

    Peer Coordinator_Cape Town

    Purpose of the position:

     

    • To coordinate peer educators in providing a comprehensive mobile and fixed site wellness service, primarily to people who inject drugs (PWID). This involves ensuring that peer educator work schedules are organized, monitoring peer performance of duties, and ensuring that peer reporting is consistent.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • High school education
    • +One-month related training
    • Previous experience as a peer educator or outreach worker
    • Proficiency in isiXhosa/ English and another South African language
    • Valid code 8 drivers license
    • Clear criminal record

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Coordinate peers working on outreach programmes and at the drop-in centre (DIC), under supervision of the PWID Project Coordinator
    • Conduct outreach activities with the mobile unit
    • Adhere to all relevant standard operating procedures, policies, and standards
    • Engage with PWID community, including attendance of and participation in community advisory group (CAG) meetings
    • Participate and assist in organising in PWID/PWUD support meetings, community advisory group meetings and structures as directed by PNC and project coordinator
    • Support project advocacy initiatives
