    Mechanical Engineer

    MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

    • Collaborate with the data centre team to understand, develop and approve the data centre mechanical system designs for new data centre construction and system enhancement projects.
    • Designs will include DX Cooling systems, chilled water systems, direct and indirect free cooling systems.
    • Review and approve basis of design documents, capacity calculations and mechanical schematics.
    • Review and approve all Commissioning and system testing strategies for each project.
    • Constant enhancement of mechanical systems to ensure high level of efficiency.
    • Infrastructure design, implementation and testing to deliver a concurrently maintainable, cost effective solution supporting 99.999% electrical uptime and 99.99% mechanical uptime.
    • Conduct working methods to ensure all SLA and MSA's are achieved.
    • Ensure all parts of the designs can be monitored and connected back to the BMS system for overall system monitoring and management.
    • Review, approve and provide all hand over documentation to the Data Centre operations team.

    Data Centre Operations

    • Review and approve all mechanical maintenance procedures.
    • Create safe work procedures for all mechanical maintenance to be done on all systems.
    • Ensure applicable planned and corrective maintenance is managed in accordance to ensure customer MSA's and SLA's are achieved.
    • Ensure all maintenance and systems complies to local legislation and standards.
    • Provide training to the operational team on the design and operation principles of the mechanical systems.

    Compliance

    • Maintain compliance in accordance to all relative policies and procedures
    • Support the HR department in achieving the organization developmental plan deliverables within agreed timelines
    • Meet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement)
    • H&S monitoring and corrective action to meet statutory compliance, SLAS and good business practice
    • Implement company and departmental policies, processes and work instructions as per the agreed quality and timeline/ RFS

    Critical System Management

    • Conduct working methods to maintain agreed PUE levels
    • Task finalization and report accurately, as per agreed format, quality and within the agreed timelines
    • Provide national technical support to operational data centres

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Excellent technical design and calculation abilities.
    • Knowledge of mechanical, control, fire and BMS systems will be an advantage.
    • Effective communication skills, active listener ability to understand requirements
    • Proactive problem solver, perform rapid and accurate assessments
    • Ability to work independently, as well as being a positive team player

    Junior Solutions Architect

    MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

    Client power capacity planning, assignment, monitoring and reporting

    • Utilise both formal and on-the-job training to become a subject matter expert in Teraco data centre power and cooling understanding. Understand power capacity and distribution of the data centres and energy centres.
    • Review non-standard requests including any non-standard power requirements, and allocate footprints based on power availability, cooling and equalisation of power distribution/load balancing principles.
    • Monitor power utilisation against power sold, to proactively intervene where power use exceeds capacity.
    • Develop & implement power monitoring and planning analytical models with the Data Analytics department, to improve planning and track implementation.
    • Attend to tickets logged with threshold exceeded warnings on footprint clients and ensure capacity limits are not exceeded. Collaborate with the Revenue Controller to ensure that additional power licences are sold where clients exceed power balancing thresholds.
    • Own power capacity planning to busbar / PDP level ensuring system balancing of distributed redundant systems and collaborate with the Infrastructure Management Electrical Engineer in power capacity planning to the energy centre level.
    • Management of the cabinet power and cooling tool sets.
    • Own the quality of the client power data in the system and drive continuous improvement with both the software development and operations teams. Perform analytics on data to proactively identify data errors for intervention.
    • Support the Head of Solutions, in preparation of the monthly power capacity reporting meetings and within 18 months, take over responsibility for leading these meetings.

      Non-standard Client Solutions

    • Detailed client designs for non-standard solutions – engage with the professionals in design, and obtain signoff from relevant DCM.
    • Review and sign-off co-ordinated as built drawings for all non-standard client deployments.
    • Obtain and review quotes for non-standard designs – ensure that pricing & quoted elements matches client and Teraco’s specifications and agreed pricing arrangements.
    • Work with 3rd party vendors and suppliers to ensure acceptable service levels are met and necessary services are performed, and to be informed of latest changes and improvements in the data centre market segment.  Evaluate quote and most cost effective pricing and ability to interpret quotes to ensure that they meet the required design.
    • Assist Sales, Service Management and Project Managers with a solutions and support approach, on a technical level with particular focus on power and cooling including assisting with solutions and support on routing, network and security.
    • Assist Sales with solution designs on RFI’s and Tenders.
    • Assist Service Management and Operational and Infrastructure Project Management Team with client Project roll-outs and sign off of installed against design.
    • Implement defined standards, policies and procedures in line with ISO methodologies.
    • Be familiar on a comprehensive capacity plan for Teraco. This will include, but is not limited to, power, space, cooling and BMS endpoints.
    • Respond to and perform miscellaneous duties as directed by management.
    • Act as technical resource for all client project builds, ensuring standards and qualities are applied in accordance with Teraco standards and client design specifications.
    • Assist in ensuring consistent optimization of all systems (hardware & software) to achieve business targets.

    QUALIFICIATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Matric qualifications
    • Diploma or background in Electrical Engineering
    • Knowledge of electrical solutions i.e AC/DC, Single Phase, 3-Phase.
    • Knowledge in routing solutions
    • Knowledge of cabling networks beneficial
    • 3 years relevant working experience
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel  skills beneficial
    • Certified Data Centre Professional (preferred)
    • Full understanding of a data centre infrastructure and environment
    • Understand electrical components SLD’s
    • Understand mechanical components for SLD’s
    • Own transport. Note: may include travel to various sites. Local via own transport.
    • MS Visio (preferred)

    Debtors Controller

    MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

    • To manage the debtors process in order to maximise working capital
    • Understand client's terms as defined in their MSA
    • Ensure the billing systems reflect accurate and up to date client contact information
    • Communicate with clients regarding any outstanding items that are preventing invoices from being raised, like purchase orders
    • Communicate with Sales, Operations and the Billing Controller to ensure Service Orders are billed as soon as possible
    • Assist and resolve client queries and complaints
    • Engage with clients to collect outstanding amounts
    • Process cancellations and replacement Service Orders
    • Prepare and send out annual increase letters to clients
    • Prepare increases in the billing system and update all Service Orders
    • Prepare monthly Remote Hands billing reports
    • Prepare monthly Power Usage reports for clients
    • Perform full recon of billing process to identify any errors or anomalies
    • Review, identity and report any discrepancies or process weaknesses to management
    • Monitor client remote hands tickets and prepare billing reports
    • Prepare monthly journals for quarterly billing, accruals and unbilled revenue
    • Update pipeline report to reflect current month's billing and churn
    • Analyse monthly sales and prepare revenue figures for management accounts
    • Prepare monthly reports including interconnects, power and customer sensitivity analysis
    • Update monthly power usage reports
    • Assist other finance staff and business with ad hoc queries
    • Prompt response to and resolution of queries as per agreed OLAs
    • Mentor junior staff
    • Implement best practices, standards and procedures in all accounting functions and activities

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Matric certificate
    • Relevant financial degree or diploma
    • Strong excel skills
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and software

    Financial Manager

    MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

    Strategic Management:

    • Provide strategic input regarding various aspects of the business processes and long-term business plans.
    • Ensure that the organisation’s financial systems, procedures and controls are effective and operating as designed.
    • Oversee, manage and guide a team of finance professionals.

    Revenue Management and Collections:

    • Full management and oversight of the revenue business cycle and monthly billing runs.

    Financial Management and Reporting: 

    • Manage and maintain the financial records of the organisation.
    • Verify the accuracy and quality of financial information.
    • Ensure statutory compliance by implementing policies and procedures that pertain to the financial management of the organisation in terms of the Company’s Act, Vat Act and the Income Tax Act.

    Annual Financial Statements:

    • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
    • Disclosure and accounting treatment in line with IFRS.
    • Statutory accounts administration for group subsidiaries.
    • Working alongside external audit to ensure an efficient and timely financial audit.

    Taxation and statutory compliance:

    • Performing preliminary annual and provisional tax computations and assessments, including indirect taxes
    • Working with tax advisors in finalising tax computations and regulatory filings
    • Verification of monthly VAT calculations for submitting for filing with SARS. Ensuring operating effectiveness of Sarbanes-Oxley controls applicable to the revenue cycle

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • BCom / BAcc, or equivalent 3-year tertiary qualification in Finance
    • Preferable: Qualified CA (SA) or CIMA
    • 3-6 years’ experience in a Financial Manager role
