Job Overview

• UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry.  This Position reports directly to the Logistics Manager. He/She will be responsible to lead a team of internal Logistics flow and collaborate with the respective stakeholders to deliver the required products to the immediate Customer. 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Leading the internal logistics team in UDSA
• Responsible for coaching and development of the team
• Responsible to execute the Parts Receipt / Unpacking/ Storage & Parts picking in accordance with routines and support to production to fulfil the KPI.
• Responsible to store the parts in the most optimised way.
• Responsible to follow up the material shortage to material controller to avoid delay in production.
• Responsible for the stock accuracy of the stocks available.
• Responsible to provide all evidence for issues related to parts (UCR etc).
• Responsible to Conduct Gemba Audit in the workplace.
• Responsible to escalate, in accordance with routines, deviations and risk for disturbances to production line.
• Responsible to Conduct Morning Team meeting and review the routines as per the production plan.
• Responsible to participate in cross functional L2 meeting to update logistics status.
• Responsible for the UDPS activities within the team
• Responsible to implement appropriate material handling flows in accordance to the recommended way of working
• Responsible to measure MIS & KPI for internal logistics process.
• Responsible to maintain good housekeeping and safety measures.
• Responsible to prepare the picking list for all KD kits to aid the internal logistics operations
• Responsible to maintain good industrial relations in the shop floor
• Maintain ISO 9001 & 14001 standards
• Engage in all plant and department specific initiatives
• Support the Logistics Engineering Team projects
• Collaborate with the packing platform for any improvement activities

Minimum Qualifications

• B-Degree / N.Dip - Engineering / Logistics Management/Operations Management

EXPERIENCE:

• Relevant experience in Logistics & Material Handling (5-10 Years)

Job Overview

UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry.  The main purpose of the job is to plan and ensure development and execution of all maintenance processes and systems in line with plant strategic objectives

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Develop and maintain maintenance system in line with UD Production System, ISO9001 and ISO14001. 
• In charge of the metrology and maintenance teams & is responsible to supervise all their activities.
• Create planned maintenance schedules for the maintenance team leader to implement.
• Avail oneself for shutdown work when required. 
• Communicate with other departments in order to ensure adherence to the machine requirements.
• Planning & organising spares for maintainable assets.
• Responsible for all new machine commissioning and plant start-ups as well as decommissioning. 
• Create and maintain maintenance dashboards. 
• Develop work instructions and standard operating procedures for safe maintenance and testing of all plant equipment.  
• Responsible for data & documentation for the purpose of analysis & systems improvement. 
• Participate in daily meetings.  Highlight / feedback issues related to potential disturbances for the day & week.
• Discipline issues of absenteeism, timing, leave planning etc.
• Identify the training needs of the team members & actions required to impart the training.
• Maintain a proper asset register for the whole plant and ensure replacement plans are communicated in time. 
• Ensure all plant equipment are properly tagged for identifiability. 
• Recommend maintenance intervals and prepare plans thereof. 
• Ensure 5s is lived in calibration and maintenance workshop. 
• Ensure tool service and calibration plans for all production and measurement equipment are developed and adhered to.
• Prepare and annual calibration and maintenance budget for approval by superior. 
• Recommends tools for repair or condemnation and raise purchase orders.
• Together with Process Engineers, support ME and Maintenance Manager in developing Capital Budgets for the plant. 
• Be a champion for plant equipment safety.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable safety standards.
• To ensure that equipment, jigs fixtures, tools, material handling equipment and lifting gear conform to occupational health and Safety Act (OHS Act) specifications.
• To appoint contractors for jobs that cannot be done in-house and supervise them to ensure safe and quality completion thereof. 
• Lead machine breakdown root cause analysis. 
• Support Real Estate function in ensuring UD Trucks Southern Africa site facilities are maintained in good working order. 
• Performs related duties as required.

Minimum qualifications and experience 

• BTech/Bsc/BEng in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance function in manufacturing environment.
• Experience in maintenance planning. 
• Experience in lean implementation in maintenance. 
• Experience in the automotive sector an added advantage.
