    nGAP Lecturer: IsiNdebele - (NG008.1)

    Job Primary Purpose

    • The University of Mpumalanga invites applications for nGAP Lectureship in IsiNdebele. This is a permanent post at the Lecturer level. 
    • The nGAP is positioned by the Department of Higher Education and Training as a prestigious programme in the sector, and candidates who demonstrate a passion for following a career as an academic and who have demonstrated high academic ability will be recruited.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • The provision of some leadership at the module level.
    • Provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching of IsiNdebele.
    • Research and the production of accredited research outputs. 
    • Engagement, through which knowledge and skills are used to benefit the discipline/ profession and  the community

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Applicants must have at least a Master’s qualification in an appropriate field of study.
    • Be a South African Citizen.
    • Prospective candidates should have achieved an average of 70% or above in the preceding degree, which should be a minimum of a Master’s degree.
    • Be 40 years or younger.
    • Be prepared and able to undertake and complete postgraduate studies at the doctoral level.

    Lecturer in Graphic Design - (A632.2)

    Job Primary Purpose

    • The primary purpose of this position is to provide teaching, research, community engagement, and administration in Graphic Design.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Leadership: The provision of some leadership at the module level.
    • Teaching & Learning: The provision of Leadership in teaching & learning and the provision of relevant, up to date course, using modern and appropriate pedagogies.

    Research:

    • The provision of leadership in research at a School level.

    • A record of postgraduate supervision at Honours and Master's levels.
    • Evidence of application of disciplinary/professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community.
    • Participation in and leadership of learned societies.

    Fixed Assets Officer - (B730.1)

    Job Primary Purpose

    • To ensure accurate and timely recoding, tracking and reporting of fixed assets in accordance with accounting standards and the institution's policy.
    • The Fixed Assets Officer performs asset lifecycle processes including acquisition, tagging, movement, depreciation and disposal while maintaining a complete and compliant asset register to support financial reporting, audits, and operational planning.
    • The Fixed Assets Officer collaborates with finance, supply chain management, new infrastructure projects, ICT, operations team, and asset users/requestors to track the asset lifecycle from acquisition to disposal.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Receipting of Movable and Immovable assets.
    • Timely and accurate recording and updating of fixed asset register.
    • Implementation of monthly reconciliations for Assets management accounts.
    • Implementation of physical assets verification.
    • Timely updating assets disposal register.
    • Liaising with Asset Management stakeholders.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • M + 3 in relevant field or Degree in Accounting.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in Fixed Asset Management.
    • Experience in Asset Management in Higher Education would be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of ITS and/or other relevant Accounting Software Packages.

    Key Competencies

    • Sound knowledge of asset accounting and reporting.
    • Sound knowledge of International Reporting Standards (IFRS)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Job Primary Purpose

    • The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership in Media Studies.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Highest Qualification Doctoral qualification in Media Studies.
    • Teaching experience 5 years at university level.
    • Research A strong record of research outputs including papers in accredited national and international journals and presentations at national and international conferences. A good record of postgraduate supervision at Masters' level with some of these students publishing their research.
    • Engagement Participation in learned societies. Some application of disciplinary/professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community.

    Supervisor: Landscaping - (179)

    Job Primary Purpose

    • The main purpose of this post is to supervise and lead all planned landscaping tasks and operations on the Mbombela Campus to ensure that the estate is kept to a standard.
    • The incumbent will monitor the eradication of alien plant species on the Campus, schedule work as requested by Archibus users to move assets and set-up venues, monitor the safe usage of equipment and its cleaning and basic maintenance.
    • The Supervisor is expected to maintain the Archibus asset register for small tools and landscaping equipment, assist in the overall administration, management, planning and organising of staff in the landscaping section and in the enforcement and implementation of all policies and safe work procedures.
    • The incumbent is expected to participate in all SHE related activities within the section and identify emerging risks relating to the above interactions with service providers, internal staff, plant and ensure that equipment are reported to the Line Manager.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Provide operational leadership to the Division.
    • Create an effective HR environment in the Section.
    • Provide support services.
    • Provide well maintained estates and infrastructure.
    • Perform any other duties as delegated by the Line Manager.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • M+3 in Horticulture.
    • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
    • Computer literacy (MS packages).
    • Experience in maintenance of infrastructure and grounds, plumbing, painting, bricklaying, plaster, welding and handyman work would be an advantage.
