    Job description

    • Prepare pre-course administration as per approved curricula/syllabi and QMS requirements.
    • Draft a course Programme for each course and ensure approval thereof in accordance with the QMS.
    • Oversee arrangements for certification and graduation of delegates as per QMS.
    • Meet specific section, team and individual research and development objectives.
    • Ensure familiarity with international and domestic client training and development needs.
    • Contribute and participate in the ATA ATS Section’s Continuation Training Programme.
    • Conduct research and development in areas of expertise.
    • Conduct theory and practical tests and assessments in compliance with QMS procedures.
    • Conduct training according to the approved syllabi, curricula, lesson plans, practical exercises and training objectives.
    • Ensure evaluation of training presented, as stipulated in the QMS.
    • Compliance with scheduled activities as per approved course programs to be observed and ensured.
    • Conduct theory and practical assessments feedback to students in compliance with QMS procedures.

    Minimum requirements

    Minimum Experience

    • ATS qualification as prescribed in ATNS Company Policies
    • On-the-job training qualification from an approved institution.
    • Train-the-trainer qualification from an approved institution will be an advantage.
    • Assessor and moderator qualifications from an approved institution will be an advantage.

    Minimum Experience

    • Minimum period of two years post validation experience in an operational environment as a validated ATC.

    Senior Instructor: Engineering Training x2

    Job description

    • Observe and study new instructional techniques for conducting classes and implement measures to improve training delivery.
    • Conduct training content analysis (TCA) on training product offerings (as and when required) and provide the necessary training interventions.
    • Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) on ATNS ATSEP, external ANSPs or CAAs and support staff (as and when required) and provide the necessary training proposals.
    • Assist and coordinate the installation /implementation of engineering training systems at the ATA.
    • Interpret performance, reliability, maintainability, availability and monitoring of ATM /CNS systems for statistical purposes.
    • Design survey instruments to determine the validity, sufficiency and quality of product offerings.
    • Research future ATM /CNS systems and provide solutions to enable the department to remain competitive in terms of being the preferred training provider.
    •  Compile comprehensive reports and implementation plans on research conducted in the external professional environment (formal and informal training, conferences, seminars etc.)
    • Apply appropriate research methodologies for the research and analyse results /conclusions to formulate new concepts and ideas.
    • Produce research papers that will benefit the aviation fraternity.
    • Assessment of students is conducted in compliance with QMS procedures and curricula/syllabi.
    •  Ability to present selected core and elective courses outside the area of expertise. (i.e. Communication /Navigation /Surveillance).
    • Create and moderate assessment tools and workbooks for all ATSEP courses.
    • Develop unit training course materials to meet the performance needs of the ATSEP and system support requirements.
    •  Moderate course material/s within the field of knowledge to determine validity, sufficiency, content and quality.
    • Evaluate qualification program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
    • Provide support and guidance to ATNS Technology and Information related to On-the-job training instruction actions and checks to support Competency Based Training and Assessment
    • Provide mentorship to the engineering instructors and support personnel within the area of responsibility.
    • Continuously engage Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on future training systems and recommend the necessary training interventions to ATA management.
    • Collaborate with tertiary institutions on the development of research-based training solutions that will enable a seamless transition of students from academic to work environment.

    Minimum requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

    • B-Tech /B. Eng. /BSc. Degree /Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Electrical /Electronic /Computer Engineering or  equivalent.
    • Train the Trainer and OJTI qualification from an approved institution.

    Minimum Experience

    • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in course presentation, research, operation, maintenance and engineering support of ATM /CNS systems and associated training systems.
