    Senior Auctioneer

    Academic Qualifications

    Essential:

    • Tertiary Education in Auctioneering or Business-related Field
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Assessor Certification

    Advantageous:

    • Relevant certifications or courses

    Work Experience

    Essential:

    • 5–8 years of auctioneering experience within the automotive industry
    • Proven track record of selling items and generating optimal recovery prices

    Advantageous:

    • Experience in salvage vehicle auctioneering

    Key Deliverables and Outputs

    Recovery Ratio Analysis and Implementation

    • Analyze various factors (damage, year model, vehicle type, market value) to calculate recovery percentages based on vehicle market value.

    Pricing of Vehicles

    • Collaborate with the auctioneering team to price vehicles sold at SMD. Evaluate damages, year model, vehicle type, and market value to establish auction prices.

    Starting Bid and Bid Acceptance

    • Determine starting bid offers and evaluate fairness and competitiveness. Make decisions on accepting or declining bids, considering vehicle value and associated supplier/SMD costs.

    Vehicle Coding

    • Assign appropriate vehicle codes (2, 3, or 4) based on damage assessment, including front suspension, overall damage, firewalls, VIN number, chassis condition, and damage severity.

    Consignment of Stock and Process

    • Select vehicles for consignment to achieve desired recovery ratios from respective sales channels. Manage payment processes related to consignment and commissions.

    SHER Manager

    Requirements: 

    • Tertiary Qualification: Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical) or a degree in Health and Safety, Environment, Risk, or Quality.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5-8 years in a SHER Manager role

    Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of risk management principles, SHER/Security policies, legislation, and procedures

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 45000, and ISO 22000 experience.
    • SAMTRAC or NEBOSH qualification.

    Supply Chain Lead

    Qualifications

    • Degree in commerce, logistics, or industrial engineering.
    • Relevant SAPICS certification/accreditation and/or membership is an advantage.

    Experience

    • 5 years or more in a manufacturing environment, including management/supervision of others.

    Knowledge

    • Knowledge of inventory control.
    • Experience in shipping and receiving.
    • Understanding of business and financial administration of departmental and mill cost centers.
    • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management, including transportation principles and cost-benefit analysis.

    • Stock Control: Assist in managing vehicle stock, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the valuation and pricing process.
