    Product Manager (Marketplace)

    Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

    • Gain a deep understanding of the Marketplace division in terms of its strategic objectives, business processes, available tools & systems, and relevant external best practice benchmarks
    • Work closely with the Head of Product for Merchant to define and maintain a Product Roadmap that delivers on technical developments required to support the Marketplace Division in achieving its strategic objectives
    • Measure the success of developments via the tracking of relevant metrics 
    • Take ownership of improving these metrics by identifying and prioritising appropriate roadmap projects
    • Define the strategic business requirements for technical systems development related to specific projects prioritised on the Product Roadmap, using relevant data to support decision-making
    • Translate business requirements into functional and technical IT user stories and project specifications, by ensuring that projects are broken down into phases to deliver immediate business benefit
    • End-to-end project management of technical projects throughout the entire product development lifecycle – setting timelines, driving project schedules, leading cross-functional development teams from design through to release, and managing the production launch
    • Manage all stakeholder communications - to ensure appropriate input on the Product Roadmap prioritisation and communication on its execution
    • Manage the engineering backlog via appropriate sprint prioritisation and planning

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma (Information Systems/Computer Science/Engineering/Commerce) with at least 5 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or a related role, preferably driving large, company-wide initiatives (through projects or responsibilities)
    • If you do not have a Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in a related field, an equivalent experience requirement must be met which equates to at least 7 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or a related role, preferably driving large, company-wide initiatives (through projects or responsibilities)
    • Experience in an agile/iterative project management and development environment is beneficial 
    • Experience in an e-commerce environment is beneficial

    Advanced Analytics Manager

    Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

    • Lead and define the Advanced Analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with the Group Data Strategy through the effective use of predictive and prescriptive analytics.
    • Lead and oversee a team of cross functional analysts, providing support to various business verticals.
    • Manage advanced analytics initiatives from start to finish, encompassing problem definition, data analysis, model development, testing, implementation, and ongoing oversight.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and convert them into analytical projects and solutions.
    • Establish consistent methodologies for analytics processes, tools, and frameworks to guarantee the scalability, performance, and quality of data products.
    • Train and mentor team members, while fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
    • Manage stakeholder relationships to prioritize analytics workstreams aligned with strategic business objectives.
    • Integrate advanced analytics processes with the group data platform and BI systems. 
    • Ensure adherence to analytics governance standards, data privacy, and compliance policies in all delivered solutions.
    • Provide input and strategic direction on adopting emerging technologies in the advanced analytics space.
    • Drive cultural change toward analytics adoption and data-informed decision-making across the group.
    • Own key data products to ensure that they are catalogued and maintained according to standards.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree or advanced Diploma in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
    • Advanced degrees (Master’s/Ph.D.) are highly advantageous.
    • Demonstrable expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques.
    • Extensive experience working with SQL and programming languages such as Python or R
    • Skilled with data tools and integration frameworks, especially in cloud-based environments.
    • Strong knowledge of advanced analytics platforms and frameworks.
    • A strong grasp of the entire analytics pipeline, from preparing data to deploying data products into production.

    Additional Preferred Experience:

    • Experience in the retail or e-commerce industry.
    • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
    • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.

    Engineering Manager (Discovery Backend)

    Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

    • As the software engineering manager, you will lead a group of software engineers constantly striving for quality solutions that are delivered on time, within budget and scope, and drive a culture of quality and personal accountability.
    • You will need a strong understanding of large-scale full-stack platform development, and have experience building Front-end, Backend, and RESTful web applications.  You need to have a development background and have a good understanding of architectural practices. You will be an advocate of Agile engineering practices, and you will preferably have prior line management or leadership experience with a track record of keeping highly skilled developers motivated. You will need to successfully launch new products quickly, as well as manage a large existing codebase.

    Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
    • At least 5 years of Software Development experience building production-grade backend applications/systems 
    • If you do not have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Diploma (in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering), an equivalent experience requirement must be met, which equates to at least 8 years of Software Development experience building production-grade backend applications/systems
    • 2 to 5 years of experience is required managing a team of engineers, including performance management.

    Additional Preferred Skills & Experience:

    • A thorough understanding of software engineering practices and best practices, including source code control systems, the use of IDEs, and testing tools
    • Experience working within an agile team that is operationally hands-on and an advocate of that culture.
    • Significant technical experience and a proven track record of architectural ownership and understanding.
    • Experience in developing distributed, transactional, and highly available systems.
    • Good RDBMS/SQL experience in a high-load environment.
    • A thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
    • Experience with building RESTful API’s and related microservices
    • Experience working with cloud platforms like Google Cloud, AWS, and/or Azure is desirable

    Head of TDT Projects

    Purpose of the role:

    • Developing and implementing continuous improvement projects across the TDT network to improve efficiency and reduce cost
    • Key responsibilities:(What are you directly responsible to achieve within the scope of your role)

    • Support logistics tenders with 3PL service providers and facilitating the introduction of new service providers within the network
    • Responsible for medium to long term roadmap and subsequent impact assessment on the development roadmap, capex and operational planning
    • Responsible for operationalizing all new business development initiatives within the TDT network
    • Oversee the cross functional Compliance function in support of at all TDT business units
    • Managing a team responsible for the coordination of TDT projects within the main TDT regions.

    Minimum Required Qualification & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Project management related field
    • Minimum 7 - 10 years in senior management role within Logistics / Supply Chain
    • Proven track record of success in delivering projects against operational and profit targets
    • Sound operational background within management of a network
    • Experience of managing customers at a senior level
    • Change management experience
    • Logistics supply chain experience at a strategic level
    • Quantitative analytical capability, with a strong grasp of management and cost accounting principles and metrics

    DC Operations Manager

    Key responsibilities: (What are you directly responsible to achieve within the scope of your role)

    • Productive performance of Inbound, Outbound, Dispatch, Housekeeping operational performance. Budget / cost management
    • Overall management and coordination of all DC activities (Dispatch Department, Inbound and Outbound Department) so that orders are shipped on schedule and product is within quality standards and cost objectives

    General Manager Primary Logistics

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Day to day operational management of operations in the region for Takealot Logistics
    • Ensure 1st time delivery percentage of 98% or higher consistently
    • Manage, lead and grow operational support team
    • Management of 3pl partners in region
    • Intervention and management with Franchises/branches in region to ensure delivery against
    • 1st time delivery percentage
    • Working closely with support teams in Tech, compliance, finance to deliver Takealot Logistics goals
    • Effective management of fleet in region to ensure 100% compliance to Road Traffic Act, and ensure compliance to OEM fleet benchmarks

    • Takealot Logistics operational evangelist, understand clearly the Takealot Logistics business and provide input operationally, tactically and strategically on all operational facets
