    Manager, Market & Economic Insights

    Job Description

    • To analyse and provide market insights to the Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) Group Chief Executive’s office on the economic outlook, sectors and banking industry within the BCB operating countries across Africa and the provinces within South Africa. In addition, to provide insights to BCB Group teams on trade, agriculture, venture capital investment, or other market insights that may be required.
    • Analysing external data to identify growth opportunities for BCB Group functions and provide a clear structure of the market we operate in. This includes sourcing both the relevant national and sub-national data across the continent by making use of databases such as the World Bank, Fitch Solutions, UN Comtrade, IMF, Central Bank data, Bureau of Statistics data, FAO data, African Development Bank data, UNCTAD, customs data, and others.
    • To synthesise market insights into clear Powerpoint presentation and present such presentation to an executive level audience.

    Qualifications

    • Type of Qualification: Masters Degree
    • Field of Study: Business Commerce or Economics

    Experience Required

    • 5-7 Years experience in industry and economic analysis across various sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa, including Agriculture, Financial Services, Retail & Wholesale Trade, Intra-Africa Trade, and Africa-China Trade.
    • Additionally, experience in roles such as the analysis of markets, sectors, value chains, or industries is required. Proficiency in preparing and delivering advanced PowerPoint presentations is also required.
