    Logistics Coordinator

    Purpose of the job:

    • To ensure the effective importing and exporting of all Control Equipment (both new and repaired), Cyberdet, EIUs, Accessories, and Spare Parts to Channel Partners Dyno Nobel and AECI Mining Services. Administration of DetNet repair center quotations and support all internal DetNet departments with any export and import requirements. 

    Required outputs: Functional

    • Receive and process export orders from Channel Partners timeously. Manage the export S-Loc, ensuring that goods are appropriately dispatched and the capturing and processing of SAP transactions (Stock movements & Invoicing) are prioritized and done timeously.
    • Formally respond to Channel Partners regarding delivery dates after discussion with relevant heads of departments.
    • Report on OTIF for the department.
    • Administration of repair centre quotes from all repair centres and ensure all documentation loops are closed out and filed accordingly, and SAP transactions are processed (Stock movements and Invoicing).
    • Manage and report on the company’s freight costs.
    • Prepare EIUs' shipping documents as orders come in a timely manner.
    • Handle all imports when required.
    • Establish priorities and collaborate with transportation providers to ensure prompt shipment pick-ups and track shipments.
    • Monitor and manage courier costs.
    • Use Freight Forwarders where possible.
    • Develop and maintain a network of couriers and freight forwarders.
    • Always conduct rate negotiations with couriers and freight forwarders to ensure the best rate.
    • Generate Work Orders and inform the Production Manager of new control equipment orders.
    • Ensure all filing is always up to date and prepare the previous year's filing for off-site storage.
    • Deal with Auditors (internal and external) when required.
    • Handle customer queries.

    Requirements: Qualifications and Experience

    • Diploma or BCom degree in Supply Chain or Logistics.
    • 3 years’ experience in logistics, exports, and imports.
    • Knowledge of Export and Import documentation of hazardous cargo.
    • 2-3 years in Debtors and/ Store management would be advantageous.
    • SAP Knowledge is a core requirement.
    • A sound working knowledge of MS Office applications i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
    • Proven administrative excellence.

    Laboratory Technician: Research

    Purpose of the job:

    • The purpose of the laboratory technician in the explosive laboratory and plant environment is to ensure that all materials and components, both explosive and non-explosive, are safe, compliant, reliable, and perform exactly as intended before release for assembling and testing. In this highly controlled environment, the role focuses on safety, precision, and regulatory compliance.

    Required outputs: Functional

    • Ensures Safety Health and environmental compliance at DetNet Pinelands Laboratory.
    • Ensures compliance with Explosives license quantities.
    • Monitor handling and storage conditions of pyrotechnical materials.
    • Ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
    • Acts as SHE representative for the DetNet Pinelands laboratories.
    • Assists with testing, analysing, and reporting on samples assembled and complaint samples.
    • Dissecting of detonators or development and qualification samples.
    • Assist with x-ray inspection of samples.
    • Responsible for assembly of test and qualification samples at AECI Mining plants and in the DetNet Pinelands N6 Laboratory. (Reporting for Safety to appropriate Safety and Explosives managers of DetNet and AECI Mining)
    • Prepare samples, materials, and equipment for analysis.
    • Safety Health and environmental compliance at DetNet Pinelands Laboratories.
    • Good housekeeping practice. (keep assets and loose tools in designated areas)
    • Maintaining of all testing equipment in good working condition.

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12/ Matric.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an explosives manufacturing plant.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Knowledge of the Explosives and OHS acts.
    • Excellent reading and writing skills.
    • Fully PC Literate Excel and Word.
    • Good people Skills.
    • Proven ability to work with minimum supervision with explosives products.
    • Proven ability to have attention to detail, and excellent quality control.

    Personal Attributes:

    • Strong inventory management skills.
    • Professional Driving Permit (PDP) – transportation of dangerous goods will be a requirement.
    • Basic soldering and product assembly skills.
    • Electronic Detonator assembly and dissecting experience.
    • Experience on AECI Mining near range and CSIR Test range testing detonators.

    Boiler Operator

    Purpose of the Job

    • The Boiler Operator is responsible or in charge for the safe operation and efficiency running of the plant associated machinery under his/her control.  The primary purpose of a boiler operator is to ensure that boilers run safely, efficiently, and reliably to provide heat, power, or steam for processes

    Role and Responsibilities 

    • Start up, operate, and shut down boilers and associated equipment
    • Maintain correct steam pressure, temperature, and output
    • Ensure continuous and efficient production of steam or hot water
    • Adjust controls to keep operations within safe limits
    • Record key parameters (pressure, temperature, water level)
    • Follow strict safety procedures for high-pressure systems
    • Prevent hazards such as overpressure, overheating, or leaks
    • Respond quickly to alarms and emergency situations
    • Inspect boiler components, valves, pumps, and pipes
    • Detect gas leaks and take immediate action
    • Ensure proper functioning of safety devices (flame failure systems)
    • Follow strict gas safety regulations
    • Maintain detailed logs of operations and performance
    • Report abnormalities or inefficiencies
    • Adherence to safety health and environmental rules and regulations

    Education and Qualifications

    • Grade 12 / Matric (or equivalent)
    • Boiler Operatoring Certificate is required
    • Trained Boiler Plant Attendant with minimum 2-3 years with practical experience in firing and operating modern water tube (John Thompson Boilers) and axiallary plant
    • Experience with gas, coal, or multi-fuel systems
    • Ability to:
    • Read gauges, meters, and control panels
    • Troubleshoot faults
    • Follow strict safety procedures
