    Xceptor Developer

    Job Summary

    • You will be a part of the Apex Group Technology team developing our modern solutions, process development and automation to improve business process efficiencies; provide superior client digital services and support the scaling of our operational model.
    • As an Xceptor Developer, you will be responsible for designing automated solutions and managing various automation projects, ranging from low to high complexity.  These automation projects will be mainly implemented using components of the Xceptor Platform and could involve several other applications and environments. 
    • You will be responsible for supporting and improving existing Xceptor production processes, and for the design, development, implementation and operationalisation of newly proposed projects and solutions.  You will also support the Xceptor Product Owner in promoting best practice design and architecture in combination with exploring and implementing the most current Xceptor platform features.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work as a member of the Xceptor Development team to design, prototype, develop, test, and deploy applications throughout the Apex Group.
    • Support operations teams and troubleshoot production issues.
    • Perform root cause analysis for existing process issues, break down large problems in smaller iterative steps, and propose holistic fixes and enhancements.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders on feasibility and optimization of their processes.
    • Work with Business Users (SMEs and other stakeholders), Business Analysts and fellow Xceptor Developers to sign off on the business automation and technical requirements, picking the most appropriate tool, method, and design pattern to satisfy the requirement.
    • Design automation solutions using Xceptor and other relevant technologies including well-structured Solution Design documentation thereof.
    • Contribute to development methodologies and best practices around design, coding, quality, and performance and drive the adoption of these with the Xceptor development team and operational users. 
    • Take part in code reviews with the Xceptor development team and facilitate knowledge transfers.
    • Oversee technical testing of your own automation projects and support the Quality Assurance (QA) of business user development and projects.
    • Participate and oversee in all stages of the automation project lifecycle, including production deployment, hyper-care, and monitoring.
    • Define and create technical documentation for the automations developed, according to global best practices.
    • Contribute to educating the business on best practices and how Xceptor can assist them.
    • Develop sufficient understanding of peripheral applications and process end-points to assist with the end-to-end enhancements of processes.

    Skills, Qualifications and Experience

    • Experience with standard tools used for software development such as git, Microsoft Visual Studio Dev Ops etc.
    • Familiar with agile methodologies.
    • Experience working with UIPath, IWay Service Manager, Data Migrator and/or Control M would be beneficial.

    Xceptor Knowledge and Skills

    • Knowledge of all components of the Xceptor Platform and the way they are integrated, Data Hub, Reconciliation Hub, Process Orchestrator, Workflow, Confirmations, Document management & generation, OCR, out-of-the-box and bespoke connectors, API, API gateway etc.
    • Knowledge of Xceptor application configuration and setup;

    Senior Fund Accountant

    Summary of the position

    • The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting requirements of our private Equity (SA) clients in line with service level agreements.
    • This includes managing a small team of accountants, client service management, and providing support to the onboarding team.

    The roles and responsibilities of the successful candidate are as follows:    

    ACCOUNTING

    • Act as the accounting specialist within the Private Equity (SA) business.
    • Supervise and control the timely and accurate delivery of net asset valuations, consolidated partner capital accounts, quarterly statements, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
    • Manage the preparation of performance fee, internal Rate of Return (IRR), and equalization calculations as required by Fund documents.

    STAFF AND TRAINING

    • Play a pivotal role in the development and training of direct reports.
    • Set KPIs for direct reports and manage performance both formally and informally.
    • Train, manage, and supervise team members.

    TEAM MANAGEMENT

    • Oversee the preparation and delivery of accounting services as per fund documentation and service level agreements.
    • Review team deliverables and ensure timely staffing to meet client requirements.

    CLIENT MANAGEMENT

    • Conduct quarterly client service review calls for an allocated portfolio and provide client feedback to management and the team.
    • Manage client responsibilities to meet agreed deadlines and best practices.

    CLIENT ONBOARDING

    • Provide feedback to the onboarding team and Private Equity (SA) management regarding operational requirements versus system capabilities and identify gaps.
    • Contribute to SLA timeframes and requirements.

    PROCESSES AND SYSTEM UPDATES

    • Assist with the ongoing development of the Private Equity IT platform and maintenance of reporting templates.
    • Ensure compliance with Closed Ended (SA) processes and identify potential efficiencies.

    REGULATORY

    • Assist with regulatory and reporting requirements as they arise.

    OTHER TASKS

    • Act as authorized signatory on client bank accounts, and reviewer of payment.
    • Build relationships with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.
    • Perform any additional tasks to support the ongoing management and development of the division.

    Skills requirement:  

    • A good understanding of various Private Equity Fund structures and the administration and accounting of these structures.
    • A sound working knowledge of fund valuations and accounting practices and standards, particularly IFRS, and ILPA.
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of back-office systems. Investran, eFront and Paxus is beneficial.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a pressurised environment.
    • Be familiar with Funds services controls and procedures to ensure compliance and minimise risk.

    Description

    • As a Demand Marketing Manager for Apex Invest, you will be responsible for driving global demand generation across a sophisticated, data-driven private capital platform and supporting services.
    • The Apex Invest platform is a compliant, end-to-end marketplace connecting allocators and fund managers, leveraging Apex proprietary technology, data insights, and integrated capital raising capabilities. Your role will focus on translating this complex proposition into high-performing, audience-led campaigns that generate qualified pipeline across both sides of the marketplace.

    • Define campaign KPIs across the funnel (MQL, SAL, pipeline contribution, platform engagement)

    Sales Alignment & Enablement

    • Partner closely with Apex Invest management team, Sales and SDR teams to:

    Fund Accountant - SA CIS Fund Accounting

    Description 

    • Fund Accountant - SA CIS Fund Accounting must manage to perform fund valuations within the Institutional Funds space. The Fund Accountant will be required to administer the funds efficiently, accurately and within daily deadlines as well as setting up and ensuring checklists and standards are adhered to. 

    Job specification   

    • Generation and distribution of daily valuation files. 
    • Responsibility for income distribution and TER calculations and providing them to clients timeously. 
    • Reviewing all processes to assess continuous improvement and automation opportunities and presenting recommendations to management. 
    • Responsible for all the daily processes that goes into the fund valuation. 
    • Communicating and responding to queries internally and from the client, working with the Senior and Team Leader in resolving such queries.

    • Performing valuation quality assurance reviews and ensuring consistent quality of output. 

    Skills Required:

    • Have minimum of 6-12 months experience as a fund accountant or a similar background.

    • Experience in Asset Management portfolio administration and pricing is preferred. 
    • Experience with investment products (including Unit Trusts, Multi-Manager, Segregated Portfolios, ETF’s, Pooled products) either locally or internationally an advantage.

    Senior Fund Accountant - Asset Allocator

    Role Summary

    • The Senior Fund Accountant – Asset Allocator will be required to administer funds efficiently, accurately and within daily deadlines, as well as set up and ensure checklists, process documents and standards are adhered to. In addition, you will be required to have end-to-end knowledge to assist other APEX teams in resolving client queries, deliver on client reporting requirements and perform ad-hoc processes that are required from time to time.
    • The Senior Fund Accountant will be required to assist the Team Leader in all aspects that might be required. This includes managing, overseeing and performing all the required tasks within the Institutional Funds space.

    Key Responsibilities
    The main responsibilities of the role will be to:

    • Produce and distribute accurate valuation files.
    • Update the Apex systems with all the daily prices and the verification of these prices.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to fund accountants and interns by reviewing all fund valuations prepared by them and ensuring the accurate calculation of fund valuations.
    • Ensure a full understanding of all daily NAV inputs and systems. These include, but are not limited to, Invest One, BEC, EMS, Creations, Expense Calculators, 
    • Reconciliations, Transition/Asset Transfers, Pricing Macros, etc. Systems, processes and responsibilities could change from time to time.
    • Understand and perform ad-hoc APEX processes that might be required by the team.
    • This includes but is not limited to Management Fee Calculator (MFC), income distributions and TER calculations.
    • Deliver under unforeseen circumstances, outside of standard working hours, for a short period of time. (ie. Month-end deliverables, ad-hoc client queries, urgent delivery, systems issues, etc.)
    • Continuously review processes to assess improvement and automation 
    • Opportunities, and present recommendations to management.
    • Maintain and update process documentation when processes change or are implemented.
    • Communicate and respond to queries internally and from the client, assisting team leaders and managers in resolving such queries.
    • Deal with client queries and audit queries.
    • Communicate and answer any queries about the funds from the team.
    • Perform valuation quality assurance reviews and ensure consistent quality of output.
    • Manage and oversee the production schedule and client deliveries in the team leader’s absence.

    • Co-ordination of the induction program for new joiners, including end-to-end training of all deliverables and systems within the team.

    Key Requirements:

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a fund accountant.
    • A BCom or similar, accounting, economics or investments background.
    • Experience in Asset Management portfolio administration and pricing.
    • Experience with investment products (ie. Unit Trusts, Multi-Manager, Segregated,
