The role
We want experienced Front End Developers to come and join our close-knit agile delivery teams working on creating responsive web applications using the latest JavaScript technologies in React. You will love working in a high performance, entrepreneurial environment that values the craft of building cutting edge and beautiful web and mobile products.
Within a couple of days of joining, you will deploy your code to production affecting millions of users globally and write new features to attract new users and engage our user base. You will develop products globally so we are able to tackle underserved markets and offer better deals to customers.
We are always looking for ways to do things better and encourage new joiners to bring their ideas and ways of working to the table. Teach us some cool stuff and we'll teach you some, but most of all, you'll have fun doing it.
Requirements
Expert Vanilla JavaScript skills and an understanding of React
You live for unit and functional testing, using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library and Enzyme
Good knowledge of build tools such as Webpack, and/or RollUp
Desire to get involved with deployment pipeline technologies like AWS and Docker
Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
Desire to mentor more junior members of the team and to pair program to share your knowledge across the team
Strong collaboration skills and impulse to share your knowledge across the Frontend team and the wider tech community
Understand and drive build processes and CI tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Circle CI)
You have opinions on what technologies and standards we should be using now and in the future - we always want to hear new ideas

About The Role
You will work with the ClearScore International team to optimise the product for our South African and Australian markets
Our global microservices architecture is built primarily using a functional stack and libs like Akka, Cats, Monix, fs2 and a bunch more.
We embrace the 'You build it, you run it' principle, so you'll be working with AWS, Kubernetes and Spinnaker to release your code to production
We have adopted a Quality Assistance program, so you'll be working alongside QA to build, test, release and monitor your work
Our delivery teams are cross-functional and you will be collaborating closely with other developers, QA, data analysts and product managers
We value TDD and detailed peer-reviewing, as it enables us to do frequent yet resilient releases to global markets (we even did a PR on this job spec!)
We're always looking for ways to do things better and encourage new joiners to bring their ideas and ways of working to the table
Requirements
What You Would Be Doing
Deploying your code to production, affecting millions of users globally, within your first couple of days of joining
Using your experience with Scala to write new features to attract new users and improving our current features to engage existing users better
Integrating with new partners so that we can tackle underserved markets and offer our customers better deals
Influencing the direction of critical ClearScore services and building the tools that allow us to scale rapidly
Owning the backend technical function for ClearScore International
Mentoring and developing Junior team members

You will be joining the team in our Cape Town office, working in an interdisciplinary squad, to take the current open beta product to its full fruition and push into the market. You will develop experiences that are as beautiful and visually complex as they are helpful and optimised.

Strong knowledge of Swift
Strong understanding of design patterns and Object Oriented Programming

Solid knowledge of Auto Layout, Storyboards, XIBs
In-depth experience of working with RESTful APIs
Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment and collaborative tools (e.g Jira)
Understanding of build processes and CI tooling (e.g. Bitrise, Fastlane)
Experience with Instruments and advanced debugging
Experience with AppStoreConnect, release process
Experience with Unit/UI testing (e.g. XCTest, EarlGrey).
