    Engineering Bursaries

    • Before attending university, bursars will investigate their career choice by working under professional practitioners for up to a year.
    • Tertiary studies at a university or university of technology, which includes components of practical training prior to, and during, tertiary studies.
    • Applicants must complete their third year of study in 2021, passing all modules, and must pass the medical fitness examinations

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 pass with mathematics and physical science (pass rate of at least 60% plus English) Passing all modules.
    • Applicants must pass the medical fitness examinations

    HR Intern

    Job Description:

    • The HR Intern will provide assistance to the HR Generalist team with day to day operations. The HR Intern will assist the team in various tasks including, but not limited to, payroll, recruitment, on-boarding and employee training and development.

    Key responsibilities: 

    • Assist with general office duties/dealing with customer HR queries.
    • Resolve issues relating to benefits (completion of the medical & pension fund documentation  - registration of dependents, nomination of beneficiaries, medical cancellations).
    • Request and arrange security clearance, qualification verifications, pre-employment medical bookings on an ad hoc basis.
    • Assign new employees induction modules on e-Learning platform.
    • Assist with completing additional termination letters and forms (UI19, Record of service)
    • Maintain employee filing system.
    • Order of stationery for HR Operations team.
    • Process HR invoices on SAP.
    • Complete and Initiate recruitment requests (RFR) with relevant Recruitment Partner.
    • Administer the recruitment mailbox and capture received applications for screening/shortlisting.  
    • Complete and process onboarding and termination documents to GSS.
    • Draft study assistance contracts and process for bonding and payment.
    • Assist in capturing of training completed on SAP after ensuring relevant supporting documentation is received from business.
    • Consolidate WSP/ATR reports received from business stakeholders.
    • Capture Employee Relations cases on SAP.

    Qualifications:
    Formal qualifications: 

    • HR Degree or National Diploma

    Knowledge: 

    • Begins to develop current knowledge of HR Laws and Regulations.
    • Keeps abreast of new developments in the HR field.
    • Develops a  working  knowledge  of  HR information  databases  and searchable  resources.
    • Personable, able to comfortably and pleasantly deal with a variety of people.
    • Strong customer service skill.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
    • Willingness to learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
    • Motivated to give input and work in a strong team-oriented environment.
    • Detail oriented.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office)
