    Senior Network Engineer

    Description

    The Network Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and management of the Enel Green Power (EGP) South Africa Offices and Power Plants network and cybersecurity infrastructure. This role will implement, manage, and maintain processes for all network devices and platforms to ensure compliance with requirements, company policies, and industry best practices for EGP in Southern Africa (South Africa and Zambia).

    Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Installation, management, maintenance, and documentation of the LAN and WAN for EGP’s Headquarters in Southern Africa and Satellite offices.
    • Engineer Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions in support of the overall objectives of EGP Southern Africa.
    • Provide technical leadership, governance, and oversight for the design and implementation of ICT systems, projects and changes within the EGP Southern Africa environment, with a core focus on end-user system functionality to ensure accessibility, reliability, and compliance.
    • Work with business unit executives and service providers to introduce required system functionalities onto the ICT environment.
    • Participate in new plants’ ICT network and security infrastructure design and setup, in collaboration with Engineering & Construction and/or other involved parties and on activities coordinated by the Global Digital Solutions department.
    • Ensure the efficient status of plants and control room network and security equipment by making use of appropriate monitoring tools and/or leading the discussions with specific suppliers dedicated for this purpose.
    • Collect and manage equipment security logs.
    • Implementation of control systems’ security and network equipment architecture and configurations.
    • Managing the IP Addressing Plan for their area of responsibility.
    • Producing and keeping up-to-date documentation regarding design rules, network topology, cabling, communication and routing protocols, equipment configuration used in offices, plants and control rooms.
    • Applying software and firmware updates on network and security equipment.
    • Ensure that the proper process for managing changes of ICT architecture in plants and control rooms of his/her own responsibility is followed.
    • Creating and managing centrally located user accounts and related access profiles for network access and process equipment access.
    • Participate in the periodic ICT budget definition process.
    • Managing the requirements of the Engineering & Construction and Operations & Maintenance departments based on Enel’s global standards.
    • Collaborate with the Procurement Department on projects and activities.
    • Managing CAPEX and OPEX, as well as Purchase to Payment processes and requirements on the SAP system.
    • Create and manage Service Level Agreements with third party providers.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
    • Master’s degree advantageous
    • 5 - 10 years’ experience in a medium/big-sized company, preferably with an Industrial Control Systems focus.
    • Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification an advantage
    • CRISC, CISSO Certification an advantage
    • CMNO certification an advantage

    Sustainability Officer

    Description

    The purpose of the role is to build long term sustainable relations with host communities, Co-design, implement and monitor impact of SED/ED programmes.  Ensure that projects are sensitive to the specificities of communities

    Main Responsibilities:

    Stakeholder Relations Management

    • Responsible relations with Project Support Committee (PSC)
    • Responsible for Stakeholder Engagement Strategy and Plan
    • Ensure that community stakeholder groups are kept abreast of all decisions and activities undertaken.
    • Spearheading the processes of asset mapping and community needs analysis, program development and projects implementation and monitoring and evaluation

    Project Management

    • Ensure co-design of projects with locals, implementation and monitoring performance, identifying all project risk
    • Monitor the performance of all activities in terms of schedule
    • Identify and manage all project risks.
    • Compile board packs for 6 sites
    • Responsible for Department of Energy obligations regarding quarterly SED and ED spend for 6 assets
    • Development of yearly Economic Development plan and reporting to the IPPO
    • Management of 6 assets both wind and solar

    Budget Management

    • Ensure that quarterly spend targets are met (and create and implement strategies to avoid related risks).

    Event Organisation

    • In partnership with PSC and CLO organise community meetings and events to introduce, report on and celebrate project progress.

    Global reporting

    • Responsible for PPM for all sites
    • SCS and Sustainable plant for 6 assets
    • Responsible for Preliminary Impact Assessment of selected projects

    Partnerships & Collaboration

    • Constantly identify partners to collaborate with on various tasks.
    • Participation and representation in the renewable industry associations
    • Collaborate with other IPP’s where EGP is present

    Ad-hoc functions

    • Avail themselves for ad-hoc functions

    Qualifications

    Required Skills/Knowledge

    • Minimum Bachelor Degree
    • 3-5 Years’ Experience in: Project management/ management consulting/ community development 
    • Experience in Economic Development Reporting within REIPPPP
    • Excellent reporting writing skills 
    • Ability to articulate and deliver information both technical and general at community level.
    • Mediation, Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
    • Monitoring and evaluation capabilities.
    • Ability to communicate all levels of society.
