    Plant Production Quality Engineer

    Your mission, roles and responsibilities

    • The Plant Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing process control programs that will assure production of finished goods that meet or exceed customer-specified requirements.  He/ she leads continuous improvements by utilizing the appropriate quality tools and provides data analysis.

    The main responsibilities are as follow :

    • Conduct multiple projects simultaneously ranging from feasibility phase to post launch quality assessment and throughout production life
    • Facilitate Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)with engineering in conjunction with advanced quality-planning activities and monitor the status throughout production life
    • Review the Control Plan with Engineering and Production and monitor the status throughout production life
    • Develop, implement, and maintain Statistical Process Control techniques
    • Assure compliance of the documented quality systems (IATF16949/ VDA6.3) and promote consistency throughout the organization
    • Conduct investigations to determine causes of defects, make recommendations for corrective action
    • Maintain internal customer complaint log and facilitate and participate in the QRCI process
    • Instruct and train personnel in techniques and use of audit and testing devices
    • Monitor and revise quality documentations as required
    • Visit customers and suppliers when necessary.  Acts as a liaison to internal customers
    • Review all production methods for compliance to quality standards and for improvement of product and quality standards
    • Perform 8QB and CIO audits and monitor corrective action implementation
    • Contain parts within the plant in the event of customer rejection and dock audit rejections
    • Manage the Gauge R&R schedule and perform the studies as per schedule
    • Perform final inspection validation as per schedule
    • Draw up the inspection instructions for the TQW and Final Inspection, and revise when applicable
    • Maintain FES principles
    • Perform all responsibilities with (IATF16949/ VDA 6.3) system requirements

    Your profile and competencies to succeed

    • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Industrial engineering
    • Strong analytical and proven team oriented problem solving-skills required
    • 3 or more years relevant experience in manufacturing
    • Strong customer satisfaction orientation.
    • In-depth knowledge of quality engineering techniques
    • Knowledge of Metrology
    • Above average communication skills and interpersonal skills

    Plant HSE Manager

    • The HSE&S Manager is responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring full compliance with environmental, health, safety, and security standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. The role supports site leadership in meeting Faurecia's global HSE objectives and South African regulatory requirements, while also playing a key role in regional HSE coordination through support to the SAF HSE Manager.

    As an HSE&S Manager, your main responsibilities at plant are as follow:

    • Analyse site-specific risks and recommend strategic solutions to improve working conditions, reduce safety incidents, and ensure environmental protection.
    • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement effective control measures.
    • Lead investigations of accidents and incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and preventive actions are completed.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the site’s HSE&S policies and programs in compliance with South African legislation and Faurecia standards.
    • Ensure legal compliance and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities and local government.
    • Manage the plant’s emergency preparedness and response procedures.
    • Monitor legal compliance and manage the site's relations with local government and regulatory organizations
    • Monitor the reporting of HSE indicators (FR0t, environmental data, ...)
    • Oversee HSE performance indicators (e.g., FR0t, environmental metrics) and ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
    • Lead the planning and execution of HSE audits and follow-up actions.
    • Facilitate ongoing HSE training and awareness programs for all employees.
    • Coach and support site leadership and operational teams to embed a culture of safety, security, and environmental responsibility.
    • Manage and monitor all on-site and off-site security activities based on Faurecia’s 3-layered security framework

    As a HSE&S Manager, supporting the SAF HSE Manager, your main responsibilities are as follow:

    • Lead and coordinate SAF HSE Network activities, including periodic team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions.
    • Disseminate HSE information effectively across the SAF plants and promote collaboration.
    • Assist with the implementation of new HSE requirements across all 4 SAF plants.
    • Support regional audit readiness (e.g., ISO 14001) and ensure major risk areas are addressed proactively.
    • Support or lead accident and incident investigations at regional level as required.
    • Lead CVR remote audits and 3-layered security audits across SAF plant locations.
    • Coach and support the SAF HSE Coordinators to share knowledge / best practices
    • Coordinate the preparation of weekly COVID-19 and monthly HSE reports for the SAF region.
    • Participate in regional and business group HSE meetings, supporting strategic discussions and decision-making.

    Work Relationships:

    • Internal Collaborations: Engage with the HSE site department and site employees for a united safety front. Collaborate with internal medical and occupational health teams.
    • External Collaborations: Work seamlessly with external partners for safety and sustainability alignment.

    Your profile and competencies to succeed
    Minimum education level:

    • Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
    • Certified Safety Professional (e.g. SAIOSH, NEBOSCH, SAMTRAC)

    Professional Experience: 

    • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in an HSE&S leadership/management role within a manufacturing, industrial environment or automotive industry.
    • Certified Safety Professional (e.g. SAIOSH, NEBOSCH, SAMTRAC)
    • Strong knowledge of South African HSE legislation and regulations.
    • Proven ability to implement and manage effective HSE management systems.
    • Knowledge of HSE tools and methods: AMDEC, 5 why methodology, job instruction, audits, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18000…
    • Knowledge of the Faurecia CVR Protocols and BG HSE Reporting requirements
    • Knowledge of 3 layered Security requirements.
    • Languages: Minimum bi-lingual (English required)

    Program Manufacturing Leader (PML)

    Your mission, roles and responsibilities

    • As a member of the Program Core Team, the Program Manufacturing Leader is responsible for all the manufacturing aspects of the Program. His/her mission lasts from the Acquisition phase (as Acquisition Manufacturing Leader) until GR4 closure, generally at SOP + 6 months.

    Main Purpose of the job:

    Team Management

    • Coordinate work package tasks he/she is responsible for and ensure their accomplishment.
    • In agreement with the Program Manager (PM), act as a technical interface with the customer & suppliers for his/her perimeter.
    • Interface with Industrial Program Leader (IPL) involved in his/her program from Acquisition.

    Product manufacturability and Process Definition

    • Responsible for Initial Process Concept, update of Process Definition and final release. Together with Program Development Leader (PDL) and Program Quality Leader (PQL), ensure design to manufacturing through concurrent engineering activities
    • Ensure manufacturing feasibility by managing Process FMEA and MVP (Manufacturing Validation Plan) definition and completion  
    • In charge of the definition of the traceability system needed for production and assembly processes
    • Initiate the Process Capability study plan and provide manufacturing data for "make or buy" studies
    • Provide quotation and implement all changes related to process and production system and/or related to the product

    Production System Development

    • Responsible for Preliminary Manufacturing Footprint Analysis and input data for the definition of new or extension of facilities
    • Lead the Production Line definition using standard group methodologies: Equipment Design Workshop & Cardboard Workshop and FECT standard equipments together with program and plant support team
    • Responsible for Initial Equipment Concept, long lead time and standard lead time Equipment, Tooling and Gages specifications.
    • Provide PM with the inputs for CAR (Capital Expenditure Request) preparation.
    • Manage Capacity studies for existing equipment / capital through process experts & specialists
    • Manage CAPex spending within the Program budget. Manage vendor timeline for Equipment, Tools and Gages 
    • Validate design of Equipment, Tools and Gages at supplier together with IPL
    • Provide PM with manufacturing data for product costing including CAPex, Work-Content, material consumption, Launch Costs.

    Production launch

    The PML supervises the following activities led by the IPL(s)

    • Support Production preparation and ramp-up: Plant Launch Readiness initiated
    • Support pre-acceptance (run-off) of Equipment, Tools and Gages at supplier
    • Support all Process FMEA defined actions
    • Contribute to Process Qualification and Production Part Approval Process including Run @ Rate: Production Trial (PT) and Mass Production Trial (MPT) Extended Mass Production Trial (EMPT) for all production lines

    Targets and reporting

    • During the acquisition phase, propose industrial objectives of the program (Capex, work-content/DL, scrap/rework/cycle times/tool change over times, material costs, launch costs…)
    • Consolidate and Validate quality of deliverables of manufacturing work-packages/PMS Mandatory Deliverables & other inputs needed for Program Functional Milestones Reviews
    • Achieve all manufacturing program objectives together with plant(s) at each Gate Review.
    • Lead IDW (Industrial Design Workshop) in Acquisition phase and phase 2b.

    Your profile and competencies to succeed

    The ideal candidate will have/be:

    •  B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
    • 5 to 10 years of experience in production area, including one position in Manuf. Engineering
    • Preferably trained in FES, FES Equipment Design, PMS and GD&T (PFA)
    • Experience in Program launch in plant
    • Proven technical skills on product and process
    • Cross functional Management skills
    • Familiar with Program finance (costing, P&L, investments)
    • English required
