    Senior Process Engineer - Pyrometallurgy

    The Process Engineer will be part of an engineering team providing engineering services and/or field support. The role will require the engineer to develop solutions in all areas of the process plant across various systems, unit operations and process equipment. Specific tasks include the development of process engineering deliverables; solutions to infield problems; and involvement in the execution and commissioning of these solutions.

    As The Successful Candidate, You Will

    • Perform process engineering tasks on pyrometallurgical projects, in a variety of commodities. When requested, act as Lead Process Engineer on projects or studies.
    • Operate with full competence and independence in the execution of all design calculations, design criteria, in the compilation and execution of equipment lists and calculations. Develop new criteria/calculations where required, maintaining high levels of accuracy. Provide frequent training, guidance and supervision to junior colleagues.
    • Actively engage with clients to understand project requirements
    • Define the process design criteria
    • Compilation of Process Flow Diagrams, along with associated mass and energy balance calculations
    • Undertake trade off studies to resolve options
    • Identify, scope and manage process test work (on site or laboratory based)
    • Carryout engineering design calculations and equipment sizing calculations
    • Prepare specifications of process attributes for equipment, through compilation of process datasheets (or process input to general datasheets).
    • Design of the process control logic adhering to appropriate safety standards, and documentation into Functional Descriptions
    • Display full competence and independence in the compilation of P&IDs and all levels of control philosophies.
    • Ensure process specifications portray the appropriate information and design intent
    • Compile operating cost estimates including estimation of consumables, labor, maintenance materials and power

    You Bring To The Role

    • Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering degree.
    • 3-5 years of experience in the design, commissioning and/or operational experience of pyrometallurgical equipment (AC/DC furnaces, converters, kilns, calciners, roasters, etc)
    • Experience in modelling of pyrometallurgical equipment and systems (Metsim or other software)
    • Strong client focus.
    • Ability to lead processing engineering tasks on a project, within the allocated budget and schedule, including mentoring and guidance of junior colleagues and professional interaction with other project disciplines.

    Senior Roads Engineer

    As the successful candidate, you will;

    • Effectively manage and execute design for roads and highway projects.
    • Work in a multi-disciplinary team, requiring coordination between discipline interfaces, such as civil services, drainage, bridges, pavements, traffic, and the environmental team.
    • Must have a high level of knowledge and experience in the geometric design of national, provincial, and municipal roads.
    • Preparation and review of CAD drawings e.g., Layout Plans, Long Sections, Cross-sections, etc.
    • Assist in developing project specifications and cost estimates.
    • Assist with tender documentation and procurement.
    • Must be proficient in technical report writing.
    • Support during construction supervision and contract administration stages.
    • Actively contribute to mentoring and upskilling of junior staff.
    • Preparation of bid proposals for new work opportunities.
    • Assist with any other business development initiatives within the H&B Business Unit.
    • Demonstrate experience and ability to form and nurture long-term relationships with team members and clients.
    • Good interpersonal and professional communication skills with high levels of confidence, patience, and commitment.

    You will bring to the role;

    • BSc, BEng, or BTech in Civil Engineering
    • Minimum of 10 years experience in road design
    • Rregistered with ECSA as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng.
    • Highly competent in road geometric design and drawing production standards for national, provincial, and municipal road projects.
    • Demonstrate experience in the design of complex freeway interchanges, major provincial roads, urban arterial roads, dual carriageways, major intersections, roundabouts, drainage, etc.
    • Experience must also include involvement in tender documentation and construction supervision for road improvement, upgrading, and maintenance projects. Must be able to effectively communicate and liaise with clients.
    • Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD software
