    Procurement Specialist

    Job Purpose:

    • To  monitor and oversee performance of service providers and suppliers relating to Motor and Non-Motor claims in line with the Group’s overall purpose and vision. This includes compliance, measuring and reporting on service provider performance and conduct, cost and efficiency drivers as well as managing overall customer experience for this Category.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement the Motor and Non-Motor claims supplier management strategy in line with Hollard Insure’s overall Procurement strategy.  
    • Analyse trends by reviewing management information. 
    • Assisting stakeholders with budget forecasting by providing commodity information. 
    • Identifying new opportunities and develop strategies that will result in improved efficiency and cost saving. Conduct benchmarking and negotiating exercises with internal and external stakeholders. 
    • Participate and support corporate social responsibility initiatives for the achievement of key business strategies. 
    • Periodic reporting to relevant stakeholders in line with KPIs/Dash board. 
    • Responsible for the submission of the monthly, quarterly dash board. 
    • Analyse, identify and investigate unusual items and report accordingly. 
    • Ensure customers are treated fairly and that TCF management is done in conjunction with the Academy.  Maintain a high level of service to customers (internal and external) according to the service standards as set by the company. 

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • At least 8-10 years Claims and Procurement or relevant experience.
    • Project Management
    • Sound understanding of the Transformation eco-system.
    • Understanding of the systemic barriers to entry, the socio economic and political challenges.
    • Sound understanding of the business of different stakeholders within the insurance value chain.

    Educational Requirements    

    • Matric 
    • Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain or relevant equivalent qualification 
    • Registered with a relevant accredited professional body (advantageous) 
    • CIPS, MCIPS

    Underwriter- (Fixed Term Contract for-6 Months)

    Job Advert Summary    

    • Hello… an exciting new opportunity has just become available in our Insure, Personal Lines Operations  area.  We are looking to recruit an Underwriter (Fixed Term Contract-6 Months).

    Role Objectives:

    • To underwrite in line with our underwriting guide.  Provide First Call Resolution. Enhance Broker / Client Satisfaction and contribute to savings through effective risk management of policies

    Key Responsibilities:

    Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and standard operating procedures:

    • Assess new business risk in accordance with business underwriting guideline.
    • New business acceptance and declinature of risk
    • Providing technical underwriting expertise on underwriting referrals
    • Re- Insurance referrals placements
    • To act within the agreed mandate in terms of discount, acceptance of risk etc.
    • Endorsements, renewals, multi claimants, refunds and day to day queries
    • Take ownership of queries and provide feedback to clients, internal and external stakeholders timeously
    • Follow the company standard operating procedures on all risk management processes
    • Ensure that protocol is followed in terms of regulatory requirements and necessary disclosures to be made (TCF)
    • Escalate queries or deviations from SOP to relevant manager
    • Act within mandate from the relevant manager in terms of acceptance and rejection of risk
    • Ensure that correct policy documents are sent to the clients
    • Delivering reliable underwriting support and customer service to the various claims departments and improving the overall customer experience
    • Establish and nature relationship with brokers, BDC’s and other stake holders
    • Identifying problems encountered by clients and proposing medium and long term resolutions
    • Proposing new ways to improve technical functionality to facilitate service to meet SLA
    • Foster and encourage team player within the team

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • Underwriting knowledge and experience minimum of 5 years.
    • Basic knowledge and experience in using the eKundu systems
    • Knowledge of Premier product and policy wording
    • Understanding of insurance principles and knowledge

    Senior Legal Advisor

    Job Purpose:

    • The role is focused on supporting the business in managing legal risk, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic and operational legal support. This includes managing contractual, litigation, regulatory, and IP-related risks, while also serving as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders. The role combines both leadership responsibilities (managing a team of 4 – 5 resources) and hands-on legal advisory functions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership & Stakeholder Management

    • Assist the Head of Legal in managing the group legal function and strategy.
    • Build long-term, trusted relationships with all stakeholders (business units, central functions, group compliance, finance, marketing, human capital, specialist divisions, etc.).
    • Act as the liaison for designated business units, fully understanding their operations and providing tailored legal support.
    • Manage and mentor junior legal advisors and administrators.
    • Provide technical legal training and coaching to stakeholders across the business.

    Legal Risk & Compliance (Insurance specific with a special focus on Life Insurance)

    • Monitor and report on legal and contractual compliance in collaboration with compliance and senior leadership.
    • Interpret and embed new laws and regulations, providing guidance, impact summaries, and communication to the business.
    • Ensure compliance with group legal and governance policies.
    • Support Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) initiatives and customer service standards.
    • M&A support and structuring

    Contracting & Documentation

    • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including commercial, policy wordings, and regulatory agreements.
    • Provide legal interpretation on contracts, legislation, policy wordings, and complex claims.
    • Maintain effective contract management systems.

    Litigation & Dispute Resolution

    • Manage litigation matters by appointing attorneys, monitoring progress, and controlling legal costs.
    • Represent the legal function at internal forums (e.g., claims, policy wording, adjudicator forums).

    Special Projects & IP Management

    • Lead or project manage special ad hoc projects requiring legal expertise

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • Minimum of 8–10 years’ legal experience, with at least 5 years in the Life insurance sector.
    • Prior experience in both Legal Advisory and Senior Legal roles, in financial services or insurance.
    • Proven experience managing litigation, drafting commercial agreements, and handling regulatory matters.
    • Experience with M&A and due diligences highly advantageous.
    • Exposure to African jurisdictions beneficial.
    • Strong relationship management and influencing skills.
    • Ability to manage, coach, and develop team members.
    • Excellent understanding of insurance legislation

    Educational Requirements    

    • LLB Degree
    • Admitted attorney
    • Other Postgraduate qualifications advantageous
