    Demand Planner

    • The Demand Planner is responsible to develop, maintain and improve the Demand Plan for a portfolio of products and customers, which also includes the full ownership of generating and maintaining the Statistical Forecast based on insights from Sales, Marketing and external data. Ensure the alignment of this Demand Plan with internal and external partners through the Monthly Business Planning process and Integrated Collaborative Planning processes. Identify and manage exceptions and monitor performance in order to continually improve the quality and reliability of the Demand Plan and the Company’s ability to sense and respond to changing circumstances. Build supply/ production plans respecting the agreed level of available capacity to ensure that finished goods are available with high freshness, at the right stock location to meet customer demand whilst minimizing cost

    A day in the life of a Demand Planner:

    Maintain Data and Systems:

    • Create and maintain the appropriate master data in the planning systems in use, minimizing errors, and avoiding duplication and obsolescence.
    • Maintain system hygiene and health to ensure demand signals are not polluted, in close collaboration with Customer Services.

    Collate Information and Assumptions:

    • Ensure commitment from all functions, build and maintain good communication and collaboration both within Supply Chain and with Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing and Finance, according to the Monthly Business Planning (MBP) best practices.
    • Capture, prioritize, analyze and input causals from Marketing and Sales events; customer, consumer & competitor information; other external / internal trends and influences which impact demand.

    Manage Portfolio and Lifecycle:

    • Effectively use all Demand Planning system functionality to enable an exception-based management approach, inspired by the "Animal Farm" methodology.
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales by providing input on a regular basis regarding product launches, portfolio optimization, rationale of commercial decisions, tenders and customer behavior.

    Develop and Maintain the Forecast:

    • Use appropriate statistical models and parameters using Forecast IQ (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Tool), and enrich statistical forecasts to generate accurate base demand forecasts per Customer
    • Generate and maintain a demand plan for a given portfolio of products, locations and/or customers, at the levels (product hierarchy and time) at which business decisions are taken.
    • Focus on and deliver a stable demand plan, but taking into account appropriately recent events, along with achievement of Demand Plan Accuracy (DPA), controlled variability of accuracy and elimination of systematic bias.
    • Ensure that business planning is operated at the correct level of aggregation (product hierarchy and time)

    Reach Consensus through Alignment:

    • Contribute to cross functional planning activities such as MBP, Scenario Planning and the Dynamic Planning Framework (DPF) according to Best Practice.

    Share and Publish the Forecast:

    • Through systematic reporting, provision of links or ad-hoc reports and communications, ensure that Demand Plan information is available to internal business partners as required.
    • Cascade knowledge of Best Practices and tools to other Demand Planners to build a superuser network

    Track and Manage Demand:

    • Actively follow-up on actual sales to customers and sell-out (POS where applicable and data is available) data to identify exceptional or unforecasted activities.
    • Drive fast, appropriate actions to minimize the impact of deviations from the Demand Plan. Communicate these actions to stakeholders.

    Measure and Track Performance:

    • Consistently improve Demand Plan Accuracy (DPA accuracy level and variability) and drive systematic forecast bias through detailed analyses of past performance. Track errors using DP Reason Codes and maintain an efficient Learning Log.
    • Implement improvements to Demand and Supply Planning processes and tools to deliver tangible benefits (e.g. time savings, increased efficiencies).
    • Analyze net dispatch requirements and prepare/maintain a coordinated set of supply and deployment plans of finished goods in order to meet customer demand within min/max stock corridors, whilst minimizing the total delivered costs, taking into account the network complexity and the supply constraints.
    • Ensure smooth implementation of promotional activities and new product launches protecting COF and minimizing write off
    • Establish and revise regularly the stock policies for Finished Goods for all stock locations, Pro-actively look for solutions in case of deviations.
    • Provide visibility on future supply issues or constraint and support decision making by providing simulated alternative supply scenarios that balance available capacity and demand.
    • Challenge Manufacturing team and Production planners on regular basis to drive optimum FG inventory required freshness level. Conduct weekly reviews with supply markets to ensure demand is reflected correctly and that load plans are honored and there's follow-up on all critical actions.

    What will make you successful?

    • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent
    • Minimum 3 years of any relevant operational experience either/or in Supply Chain (DSP, CS, SC Development), Sales (KAM, CCSD), Marketing or Finance (Business planning)
    • Sufficient understanding and practice in the following areas:
    • Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) methodology
    • Monthly business planning processes and tools

    Skilled Operator

    • In this role you will be responsible to achieve Optimum Manufacturing line/equipment performance during his/her shift assuring Product quality & compliance to safety & Environment policies, ensure Nett Mass within legal tolerance and enforce the Nestle Quality System by adhering to NQS, HACCP & QMS in executing the job.

    A day in the life of a Skilled Operator:

    Line Preparation, Changeover of Filling Equipment to fill different sizes and Products.

    • Assist Line Fitter in setting up Filling Machines, Seamer, Capper, Labeler, Collator/Shrink wrapper, De-Palletizer as per POP for planned product & size.
    • Calibrate scales for size being filled.

    Operation of Filling & Packaging equipment

    • At Start-up, ensure all machine parts are intact on Filling Machines, Seamer, Capper, Labeler, Collator/Shrink wrapper, De-Palletizer, Tote Tilts.                                       
    • Ensure that line starts up on time.                                                 
    • Make appropriate adjustments as per procedure to achieve nett mass and hourly outputs to achieve targets, contact Team Leader and/or HOD in case of deviation.

    QA Functions

    • Conduct OPRP checks on Vibratory Feeder sieves, Tote Tilt vibrator sieves & record.                   
    • OPRP control on X-Ray machines (Validate X-Ray samples)         .                                  
    • Net Mass Control - Check 4 cans every 10 minutes on Free Weigh and record.

    Data Capture – DMO, SAP

    • Material declaration (GR, print SSCC labels and pallet recording on pallet control sheet.
    • Perform DMO transactions - Capture stoppages as per occurrences with reason codes, Capture hourly/shift production outputs.                                         
    • End of Shift/Production.

    Other Responsibilities

    Junior Strategic Buyer

    • The Junior Strategic Buyer will be responsible for developing, validating, communicating and implementing sourcing strategies for locally managed categories at Market level, following the Strategic Sourcing Process tools, templates and policies developed by Nestrade and applying the Nestlé Standardised Procurement Model.     Supply Planner

    • The Supply & IMS Planner is responsible to build supply/ production plans respecting the agreed level of available capacity to ensure that finished goods are available with high freshness, at the right stock location, on time-in full to meet customer demand at the optimum total delivered cost.

    A day in the life of a Supply & IMS Planner:

    • MPS/IMS Planning: Analyze and evaluate the supply plan and net dispatch requirements to satisfy customer needs taking into account the network complexity and the supply constraints. Responsible for 18 months production plans for the factory in the scope.
    • Inventory Management: Balance the need for product availability versus the need to minimize costs of inventory to ensure optimum stocks of the right material in the right location.
    • Exceptions management: Analyze exceptions, take business decisions (based on priorities or after arbitration) and adjust planning results accordingly. Establish production requirements for short and long term and to follow up production plans.
    • Consistently achieve sustainable Customer Service Level for domestic and Inter-Market Supply (IMS) customers within the Working Capital and Freshness objectives by ensuring minimal bad goods impact whilst meeting demand.
    • Establish stock policies for Finished Goods for Inter Market Supply together with Planners of Receiving Markets. Periodically review the stock level of the domestic and the receiving markets to proactively look for solutions in case of deviations.
    • Determine key issues with volume variance that may impact supply, challenge existing Logistics and Supply Planning processes and tools implementing improvements to deliver tangible benefits (e.g.: time savings, increased efficiencies, etc.) monitoring requirements evolution
    • Challenge manufacturing on regular basis to manage lot sizes, cycle times, to drive optimum FG inventory level. Also, to challenge and support Demand Planner (Domestic and IMS) to improve Demand Planning Accuracy

    What will make you successful?

    • Degree or national diploma in Industrial Engineering or B-Tech or an equivalent where Planning, Logistics was one of the majors.

    Business Process Specialist (BPS)

    • As a Business Process Specialist in Mossel Bay, you will ensure the efficient operation of the production section by managing administration, planning control, best practices, PSA stock management, and maintaining SAP data accuracy. It is essential to ensure that the GLOBE template and T&P processes align with business requirements. You will also advise, train, and support Team Leaders and End Users on how to effectively utilize the GLOBE Application Template as well as the DMO modules to meet specific business needs, as well as assist in its implementation and maintenance. Additionally, you will establish formal communication channels with FICO and QA                                                                      

    A day in the life of a Business Process Specialist:

    T&P Tasks:

    • Manage process orders
    • Release process orders daily and instruct factory planner with alternatives
    • Order from Warehouse & Replenish (stage for) raw and packaging materials
    • Supervise the capture of DMO for downtime; run time and all stoppages
    • Ensures the Capture of the daily consumption of raw and packaging materials against the correct process order (use scanning where applicable)
    • Ensure accurate capture of daily output and labelling of HALB
    • Close off PI sheet daily with 100% accuracy.
    • TECO process orders after all checks and balances is place for daily reconciliation. (Check MUV, hours, clearance of material reservations: MRP)
    • Investigation, Reconcile FERT with 3d party external Warehouse M’ment. [Audit requirement] including follow up resolution discrepancies.
    • Train end user to do daily capturing and assist in any problems

    Financial control and Stock management:

    • Perform daily stock check and ensure that SAP system stock and physical stock matches (Material number, Quantity, Batch number and SSC Label). Differences in theoretical and actual stock must be reconciled immediately prior to process end, Responsible for training the operators on the methodology including competence assessment.
    • Weekly and monthly stock counting of PSA (141,145 & 172) 
    • Monthly Stock verification with management accounting department.
    • Chair and manage weekly variance meetings with costing (ADMIN) department
    • Control variances (labour and material) and implementation of appropriate action

    Rework:

    • Supervise the declaration and movement of rework:
    • Ensure that daily stock checks are performed and that SAP system stock and physical stock matches (Material number, Quantity, Batch number and SSC Label)
    • Weekly and monthly stock counting of PSA - Stock verification with management accounting department
    • Train end-users in Rework Management according to T&P, MH BP                                                                                        

     What will make you successful?

    • 2-year national certificate in Production Management or IP. [NQF 5}.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in Production and knowledge of stock management 
    • Degree or Diploma in Finance, accounting or production (Advantageous)
    • SAP
    • Experience with process definition within the T&P application environment (SAP).
    • Formal Knowledge of Factory end-to-end processes

    Boiler Assistant

    • The Boiler Assistant supports the safe operation and basic maintenance of boiler systems, including water treatment testing, coal and ash handling, stoker maintenance, cold boiler start-ups, boiler banking, and operational optimization to meet production steam demand. The role also supports statutory boiler inspections in line with the Pressure Equipment Regulations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993, as amended. In addition, also assists with the operation and basic maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration plant, water treatment plant and distribution network, compressed air plant, and hot air generation plant using coal and HFO energy sources to support factory operations.
    • The role also requires full compliance with Nestlé Life Saving Rules, including stopping machinery before interventions, applying lockout and tagout before disassembly, obtaining authorization before entering confined spaces, using fall protection when working at heights, and working under a valid permit for high-hazard tasks.

    A day in the life of a Boiler Assistant:

    • Attend to shift hand over meeting.
    • Check through boiler water level.
    • Monitor ash chute for ash blockages.
    • Perform water treatment analysis.
    • Clean air filters.
    • Clean HFO Filters.
    • De-ash boilers.
    • Monitoring coal level and cleaning of silo room.

    Assistant Factory Controller

    • Working in Harrismith as an Assistant Factory Controller you will be responsible to provide efficient, effective and accurate costing support and advice to meet business (Corporate, Division and factory) objectives, consistent with Nestle policies.

    A day in the life an Assistant Factory Controller:

    • Decision Support: Provision of accurate and timely detailed product costings. Variance analysis and reporting (weekly, monthly, yearly). Assist with Preparation of the Standard Cost Budget and Revisions and submit on a timely basis. Co-ordination and Involvement in new product development teams – costings for feasibility studies

    • Co-ordination and Involvement in new product development teams: Costings for feasibility studies. Provision of accurate monthly Actual Cost Calculation with consistent adherence to Period End Close timelines. Ensure that the Nestle Costing Standards Guidelines and Methodologies are observed and applied consistently.
    • Validate and analyses financial and accounting information pertaining to the factory for Management and employees. Preparation of the monthly Raw and Packing materials Working Capital reporting. Involvement with all departments in Continuous Improvements initiatives.
    • Involvement in shop-floor control, daily process order variance meetings with production department Management Teams. Supporting Factory Controller in decision support activities such as, what if analysis, EBA calculations etc. Adhoc Projects. Monitor and Control factory fixed cost.                

    What will make you successful?

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Manufacturing Accounting.

    Microbiologist

    • The Microbiologist is responsible for sampling raw materials (ROH), in-process line samples, and finished products, as well as conducting laboratory testing and quality assurance activities in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).     A Day in the Life of a Microbiologist

    Leadership:

    • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of products, food safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards, proactively escalating deviations, abnormalities, or out-of-specification results to the Head of Microbiology and initiating appropriate corrective actions.
    • Drives continuous improvement initiatives within the microbiology laboratory to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance.
    • Supports the Food Safety Specialist during GLP audits and contributes to the improvement of hygiene standards and food safety practices across the factory.

    Technical Responsibilities:

    • Executes environmental and pathogen monitoring programs by collecting swab samples throughout the factory and performing microbiological analyses according to approved sampling plans and methods.
    • Prepares microbiological media, performs method verification activities, and conducts routine and specialized microbiological analyses on raw materials, environmental samples, in-process products, and finished products.
    • Ensures accurate reporting of results within agreed turnaround times and in compliance with established quality requirements.

    Proficiency Testing and Method Performance:

    • Participates in internal and external proficiency testing programs to demonstrate analytical competency and verify method performance.
    • Monitors analytical quality control data and method performance on a routine basis, taking corrective action where necessary to maintain the integrity and reliability of laboratory results.

    Management of GLP, ICPs, and SOPs:

    • Develops, reviews, implements, and maintains Internal Control Procedures (ICPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with laboratory and quality management requirements.
    • Maintains Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements at all times.

    Resource and Equipment Management:

    • Manages laboratory resources, including chemicals, gases, culture media, glassware, instruments, and consumables, to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.
    • Coordinates equipment servicing, calibration, maintenance, and repairs, ensuring all laboratory equipment remains fit for purpose.
    • Maintains comprehensive records of equipment maintenance, calibrations, repairs, and analytical method controls to ensure full traceability and compliance.

    Sample Preparation, Analysis, and Reporting:

    • Performs sample receipt, preparation, testing, verification, and reporting activities in accordance with approved methods, strict work planning schedules, and GLP requirements.
    • Ensures all analytical results are generated accurately and reported within the specified turnaround times to support product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance.

    What Will Make You Successful?

    • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Microbiology, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
    • 2-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment, with exposure to microbiological testing, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), method verification, and quality assurance systems.
    • Knowledge of food safety principles, laboratory quality management systems, and microbiological analytical techniques.
    • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and other laboratory data management systems.
    • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and compliance.

    SHE Specialist

    • Working in Harrismith Factory as a SHE Specialist, you will be responsible for assuring the safe and environmentally sustainable operation of the site through the implementation of the site’s SHE Management Systems, ensuring compliance with Nestlé SHE policies, standards, procedures and relevant legislation.

    A day in the life of a SHE Specialist:

    • SHE Management Systems: Implement and maintain international standards for safety and environmental management, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, across the site and monitor/report on their operation.
    • Legal Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure site adherence to SHE-related legislation, identify and assess SHE risks and aspects, and support contingency plans to minimise foreseeable risks.
    • Safety Culture and Emergency Preparedness: Implement and maintain behavioural-based safety programmes, establish SHE committees and support Fire, First Aid, Hazmat, Evacuation and Crisis response teams.
    • Incident Management, KPIs and Reporting: Ensure SHE incident investigations are conducted, root causes identified, follow-up actions completed, and monthly SHE KPIs submitted with action plans for out-of-norm results.
    • Stakeholder Support, Training and Contractor Safety: Provide SHE advice and guidance to the site, engage with occupational health, identify training needs, develop the SHE training matrix, and ensure contractors comply with Nestlé SHE requirements during site work and projects.

    What will make you successful?

    • BTech / Advanced Diploma in Safety or Environmental Management or Engineering
    • SAMTRAC (Safety and Management Training Course) – Integrated SHE System
    • Minimum of three (3) years of FMCG experience
