    Unit Manager At Nurture Ilembe – Kwazulu-Natal

    About the role

    • We’re seeking an experienced Unit Manager to head a rehabilitation/sub-acute unit, managing a team of Professional/Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, ENAs and support staff. You’ll own day-to-day operations, clinical governance and patient experience, working closely with the Therapy Manager, multidisciplinary team and support services.

    You will:

    • Provide visible clinical leadership, model best practice within scope of practice and Nurture policies.
    • Drive clinical governance: IPC, medication safety, falls/pressure-injury prevention, documentation, audits and accreditation readiness.
    • Manage people operations: recruit, roster, delegate, mentor, address performance and build a values-driven culture.
    • Coordinate patient journey participate in MDT meetings and family meetings.
    • Oversee stock & assets (pharmacy and non-pharmacy), budgeting inputs, cost control and variance reduction.
    • Ensure OHS compliance: risk identification, incident reporting and closure, drills, equipment checks and safe environment.

    REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

    • Current SANC registration as Professional/Registered Nurse
    • Diploma/Degree in Nursing; leadership/management or rehab/sub-acute post-basic advantageous
    • Proven experience leading a nursing team of mixed cadres: RNs, ENs, ENAs, support in a 24/7 rostered environment
    • >5 years’ experience in a rehabilitation environment

    Occupational Therapist At Nurture Vereeniging – Gauteng

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • As the Occupational Therapist, you will focus on hands-on clinical care—assessing each patient’s functional needs, designing evidence-based treatment plans, and guiding them toward greater independence in everyday activities. You will contribute your expertise to an interdisciplinary team committed to person-centred rehabilitation and measurable, high-quality outcomes.

    REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

    • Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy with community-service year completed
    • Registered with the HPCSA as an independent practitioner and covered by malpractice insurance
    • CPD portfolio up to date in line with HPCSA standards
    • Bobath / Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) training an advantage
    • Basic or intermediate wheelchair assessment/prescription skills beneficial
    • Keen interest in both paediatric and adult neurological rehabilitation
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in neurology, cognitive therapy, and spinal-cord injury care
    • Broad clinical exposure, including orthopaedics, SCI, and neurology
    • Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working within an interdisciplinary team
    • Valid driver’s licence and reliable own transport

    • The Nurture Health Group requires a Registered Nurse who will be based at our Nurture Beacon Bay physical rehabilitation facility in East London, reporting to the Nursing Manager.

    REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

    • Grade 12 with the relevant nursing qualifications
    • Registered with the South African Nursing Council
    • 3 years or more experience as a Registered Nurse within an ICU/High care environment essential
    • Rehabilitation experience is an advantage
