    Store Manager - Pep - 8784 Mthatha Circus Triangle (Eastern Cape)

    Description

    • PURPOSE OF POSITION: Leading a store team to meet business KPIs including driving sales, cost control,  mitigating risks and stock loss, administration and ensuring world class store standards. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Increase sales by focusing on customer service and world-class store standards, maintenance of the store image, stock management and promotional implementation
    • Stock loss is minimised by having a healthy store culture and following security measures, stock and cash handling procedures.
    • Manage cost according to the company low cost culture by driving efficiencies in the store.
    • Ensure administrative duties within the store are done according to the company guidelines.
    • Leading a dynamic team of Dynamos - taking responsibility for team training, coaching and performance.
    • Standards - maintain general health, safety and housekeeping standards

    Requirements
    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 
    • Proficient in English. 
    • Relevant tertiary education - a degree/diploma in a business/retail related field would be an advantage.
    • Ideally 1-2 years experience in a retail environment within a leadership role.
    • Computer Literate (Microsoft and/or Google GSuite - will be an advantage).

    Financial Manager: Management Reporting (Western Cape)

    Description

    • To transform financial data into clear, strategic insights for the executive and Board levels, ensuring informed and effective decision-making that drives business performance and the achievement of strategic goals.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Strategic Insight & Executive Reporting

    • Lead the end-to-end production of monthly management accounts, executive performance packs, and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.
    • Generate proactive, detailed analysis and commentary on financial results, distilling complex data into clear implications and providing recommendations for immediate corrective action or strategic shifts.
    • Review and evaluate financial performance against key strategic metrics (KPIs), proactively identifying areas of concern and providing data-driven feedback to the business to inform critical decision-making.
    • Identify and execute opportunities to continuously enhance management reporting, focusing on predictive insights, scenario planning, and leveraging new technologies to drive a data-informed, cost-efficiency culture.
    • Coordinate the preparation of Board and governance files to facilitate the highest level of financial oversight and decision-making.

    Performance Management & Planning

    • Spearhead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process, including the development and maintenance of standardised models, templates, and procedures across the organisation.
    • Conduct deep-dive variance analysis (actuals vs. budget/forecast) to isolate underlying performance issues, identify missing accruals, and ensure complete and accurate financial representation.
    • Analyse financial data and other operating information to systematically identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and better cost management across all functions.
    • Develop and maintain the financial reporting calendar (monthly, quarterly, annual), ensuring clear, timeous communication of critical deadlines and requirements to all internal stakeholders

    Business Partnership & Automation

    • Serve as a dedicated Business Partner to key operational and support departments, interpreting financial outcomes, analysing expense trends, and providing collaborative support for achieving their financial targets.
    • Work collaboratively with the Systems Manager/IT teams to automate management reporting processes, implement advanced analytical tools, and transition reporting toward predictive modelling and self-service capabilities.
    • Drive process efficiency and continuous improvement projects within the Finance department and in other support functions, focusing on stream-lining workflows and enhancing data integrity.
    • Manage ad hoc data analytics and reporting requests from senior leadership, delivering timely and precise information to address urgent strategic or operational questions.

    Requirements

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (SA), CIMA qualification or related qualification advantageous
    • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced retail or commercial environment is preferred
    • Proven expertise in operational reporting, cost management, and margin analysis
    • Experience with Group reporting structures is beneficial
    • SAP, Google Workspace and MS Excel proficient

    Finance Manager (Western Cape)

    Description

    • The Finance Manager acts as a Finance business partner to the Clothing Footwear and Homeware (CFH) department within PEP by, inter alia, producing and reporting financial & management accounts, analysing key financial information, generating financial budgeting and forecasting, as well as implementing strategies to reduce operational costs. In addition, managing the inventory and gross margin financial reporting of the whole PEP business (i.e. CFH, cellular, FMCG, PEPmoney, PAXI, Sundries).

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Monthly financial and management reporting, supporting commentary and schedules
    • Quarterly forecasting
    • Annual budget and 3 year plan submissions
    • Analysis of movements in general ledger balances (such as turnover, direct and overhead costs, cost recoveries etc.) 
    • Analysis of all aspects of gross margin (front margin, supplier rebates, stock adjustments etc.)
    • Comparison of results  to budget and prior year with related variance analyses
    • Analysis of financial data and other operating information to identify efficiency improvements or better cost management
    • Review of financial performance against key metrics and identify areas of concern by providing feedback to the business to support strategic decision making 
    • Review of balance sheet reconciliations
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of business activity and initiatives and impact there-off on financial performance
    • Own the end-to-end financial reporting for the online business (e-commerce channel)
    • Maintain healthy relationship with internal customers
    • Leadership and management of one direct report
    • Ad hoc assignments, projects and investigations 

    Requirements

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) with 3 years of post-qualification advantageous
    • Financial and management reporting experience preferably  in retail environment and/or commercial environment
    • Commercially astute, articulate, strong technical skills, insightful and an influential leader impacting at both strategic and operational level
    • SAP S/4 HANA proficiency advantageous
    • Knowledge of SAP Business Objects, Qlikview and/or Finnivo advantageous
    • Retail accounting experience advantageous
    • Good knowledge of inventory processes
    • Google Workspace and MS Excel proficient
