    Bookkeeper

    • An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a forward-thinking accounting practice based in Johannesburg.     What you'll do:

    As a Bookkeeper in this dynamic team environment, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both internal stakeholders and external clients.

    • Attend meetings with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored bookkeeping support across various industries.
    • Perform comprehensive bank reconciliations and cash book processing to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date
    • Prepare detailed monthly management reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, debtors and creditors analysis, VAT reports, and general ledgers.
    • Distribute approved monthly financial reports to clients within agreed deadlines
    • Manage updates to tasks using Microsoft Planner and Teams to ensure seamless workflow coordination within the team.
    • Oversee monthly payroll processing by liaising with clients for payroll information, preparing payslips, pay reconciliations, leave reports, EMP201 submissions, and ensuring timely delivery of payroll reports.
    • Handle SARS submissions including preparation and submission of VAT201 returns, EMP201 returns, EMP501 returns, IRP5s as well as management accounts for review.
    • Assist with SARS reviews and audits related to VAT, EMP201/501, Income Tax matters as well as preparation of income and expenses for IT12 submissions.
    • Support the Managing Director and Financial Manager with ad hoc accounting tasks such as bookkeeping preparations for companies or individuals as well as tax-related eFiling work.
    • Maintain meticulous records by regularly updating client files in the database while staying abreast of changes in tax legislation and industry trends.

    What you bring:

    • To excel as a Bookkeeper in this innovative practice you will bring not only solid technical expertise but also outstanding interpersonal abilities that enable you to connect meaningfully with both colleagues and clients. Your background should reflect hands-on experience managing full-cycle bookkeeping functions including payroll processing and statutory submissions within South Africa’s regulatory framework.
    • Degree or certification in Bookkeeping, Accounting or a related field with 4-10 years’ experience.
    • Demonstrate advanced understanding of accounting principles alongside proven ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
    • Show proficiency in Xero, Simple Pay, Pastel Accounting & Payroll; familiarity with eFiling/uFiling/CIPC/Easyfile is essential while QuickBooks experience would be advantageous.
    • Exhibit strong skills using Microsoft Teams, Excel and Outlook.

    Tax Administrator

    What you'll do:

    As a Tax Administrator based Johannesburg, you will be at the heart of the organisation’s operations - ensuring that every aspect of tax administration runs smoothly.

    • Maintain and update SARS e-filing profiles (RAV01) for individuals, trusts, and companies with precision and efficiency. Capture and assist with various tax returns including IT12, IT14, IRP6, EMP201, EMP501, VAT201, DWTs
    • Handle client queries related to tax matters by liaising professionally with SARS via call centre interactions, appointments, and electronic correspondence.
    • Process registrations on SARS e-filing for VAT, Public Officer status, PAYE, Customs codes, APNs as well as manage applications such as non-resident tax status and directives.
    • Coordinate annual tax compliance certificates/PINs generation and distribution
    • Oversee the addition of taxpayers to the e-filing profile and evaluate SARS assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Manage disputes relating to VAT 217, Income Tax, PAYE as well as Ombud complaints by preparing documentation and following up on resolutions.
    • Support the Managing Director in their tax-related responsibilities by organising client files using OneDrive and Microsoft Teams.
    • Maintain meticulous records by regularly updating client files and ensuring secure storage of all documentation on digital platforms.
    • Integrate daily or weekly administrative tasks into Teams while documenting all activities thoroughly for transparency and accountability.

    • Demonstrated proficiency with SARS e-Filing systems including registration processes for VAT, PAYE, Customs codes, APNs as well as submission of various returns such as IT12/IT14/IRP6/EMP201/EMP501/VAT201/DWTs.
    • Strong administrative abilities with exceptional attention to detail when managing confidential information or updating client files digitally.
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under pressure in a busy office environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to communicate clearly with clients, colleagues, accountants, and SARS representatives alike.
    • High level of integrity combined with discretion when handling sensitive or confidential data related to clients’ financial affairs.
