    Prod Operator Casing Welder (Fixed term)

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To safely install electrode casings, thermo couple pipes and test for cracks on a belly belt. Manage stock levels of casings. 

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

    • Participate and comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)

    CUSTOMERS 

    • Ensure Customer Satisfaction
    • Ensure proper communication with relevant parties when taking long slips.
    • Inhibit the travelling of selected electrode for casing installation 

    BUSINESS PROCESSES 

    Electrodes:

    • Inspect electrode casings prior to offloading.

    Transportation:

    • Transport the casings from the storage area to the casing floor.

    Stocks:

    • Monitor casings, electrode thermo couple pipes and consumables for CO2 welding.
    • Store casings under a shelter to prevent rust.

    Reporting:

    • Update the casing welding log sheets.
    • Installed casings to be properly labelled and signed off.

    Minimum qualifications: 

    • Grade 12 / N3
    • 2 years’ relevant experience in welding and grinding.
    • CO2 Welding Certificate 
    • Valid Driver’s Licence

    Additional qualifications: 

    • Manitou
    • Hoist Certificate

    Logistics Operator CRP - Middelburg

    Purpose of the job:

    • To safely control and monitor the Chrome Recovery Process (CRP)

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Monitor and control the CRP plant from the control room by:

    Transferring:

    • Transfer material by means of a belt conveyor
    • Transfer fluids by means of a centrifugal pump
    • Transfer fluids by means of a positive displacement pump
    • Monitor and control the water reticulation in a hydro-metallurgical process
    • Monitor and control feed rate by means of a feeder

    Separating:

    • Separate material by means of a cyclone
    • Separate material by means of a vibrating screen
    • Separate material by means of a thickener
    • Separate material by means of a jig
    • De-water material by means of a de-watering screen
    • Classify material by means of a mechanical classifier

    Low Level Maintenance:

    • Maintain screen decks
    • Tapping of oil after hours and loosening jig bolts when requested,

    Loading:

    • Loading of current arising and scrot is performed accordingly.
    • Loading of product to Final Product Department

    Other processes:

    • Ensure Flocculent and Ferrous Sulphate dosing is executed accordingly in the thickener by the appointed service provider
    • Frequent inspection of final product for contamination is done
    • Regular inspection of the performance conditions of the tailing’s facility.

    Reporting:

    • Update the CRP log sheets and the MES system

    • Degree in Human Resources/Industrial Relations/Communication/Industrial Psychology
    • Valid Driver’s License (minimum B/ Code 8) will be advantageous.
