    Senior Capital Sales Engineer

    • We are looking for a proactive, focused and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Capital Sales Engineer.
    • The role will report into the Business Line Manager - Screening Solutions and will be based from our offices in Spartan, Kempton Park.

    Purpose of the role:

    • Responsible for driving sales for Screening, by bringing the best of Rock Processing’s offering to meet customer requirements and deliver on business lines profitability and sales targets. Actively develop existing customers and seek new customer’s for Rock Processing. Drive and execute Sales Strategy to achieve the organization’s short- and long-term sales goals.

    The job responsibilities:

    • Identify new opportunities as well as develop existing markets for Screening capital equipment, while always ensuring CRM is up to date with valid cases and customer visit reports.
    • Submit, accurate and comprehensive Screening equipment tenders incl. equipment selection.
    • Present on Sandvik Screening portfolio and Sandvik’s strategic advantages during sales calls, meetings, and tender submissions.
    • Working closely with Engineering Houses (EPC/EPCM) for the benefit of the end customer in applications, engineering, and tender submissions.
    • Provide engineering support Inc. DWG 2D & 3D STEP modelling of brownfield applications, understanding competitor market where suitable and provide detailed improvement opportunities for customers on Sandvik Screening equipment.
    • Ensure an understanding of customers’ businesses, which include revenue base, geographical area, installed fleet, sales potential, business cycle and who the real decision makers are, as well as providing significant input into strategic plans for the continued expansion of revenue within the area and across the region.
    • Proactively work with other Sales engineers, internal sales team, field service team and other support staff to grow Sandvik Screening market share while ensuring Sandvik’s core values are maintained.
    • Investigate competitor activities and conduct relevant market research that enables the business unit to maintain market competitiveness. Ensure this information is communicated through the appropriate channels in the region.
    • Promote and develop new products to existing and new customer base to maintain Sandvik competitive edge.
    • Lead and manage capital equipment sales opportunities, from technical solution through to order execution.
    • Support and drive the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting, opportunity qualification, and timely closing of capital projects.
    • Prepare and review Equipment sizing, proposals, costings, and commercial offers in line with Sandvik standards and governance.
    • Support pricing strategies in alignment with margin targets and commercial objectives.
    • Act as the primary point of coordination for day‑to‑day capital sales activities, ensuring smooth execution across engineering, supply chain and project.
    • Proactively manage customer queries.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with key customers and decision‑makers, providing technical and commercial support.
    • Support the BLM in strategic customer engagements by handling operational follow‑ups and site‑level coordination 

    Qualifications & Experience Requirements

    • Degree or Diploma in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical qualification.
    • 5-10 years of extensive sales experience coupled with proficient knowledge in screening capital products.

    Technical Writer Instruction Manuals - P2

    The Role

    • This role combines structured technical documentation and product safety responsibilities with valuable hands-on exposure to underground mining equipment in a workshop environment.
    • We welcome applications from experienced Technical Writers, while also offering an excellent development opportunity for individuals looking to build expertise in technical documentation and product safety disciplines.
    • We are seeking a motivated, technically minded professional to support Technical Documentation activities as well as selected Product Safety initiatives for underground mining equipment in South Africa. The role will primarily focus on RTV equipment (Flameproof Loaders) and selected Continuous Miner applications, contributing to the safe and effective delivery of our products and solutions.

    Key Performance Areas

    Technical Documentation

    • Create and maintain Operator’s and Maintenance Manuals for RTV equipment and other Mechanical Cutting products.
    • Develop structured, easy-to-understand and professional technical instructions based on machine knowledge, inputs from various stakeholders and observing the machines in the workshop.
    • Produce documentation in clear technical English for global customers
    • Develop technical illustrations based on CAD data, photos, and workshop observations.
    • Collect technical input from engineering, service, and workshop teams.

    Product Safety Support

    • Support risk assessments for machines and safety-related functions.
    • Act as local contact person for product safety topics in South Africa.
    • Conduct machine safety audits and inspections.
    • Identify hazards and support development of safety improvements.
    • Support compliance with local regulations and internal standards.

    Cross-functional Coordination

    • Work closely with the technical documentation teams in Austria and in India as well as with engineering, service, and workshop teams.
    • Ensure alignment between design, machine configuration, and documentation.
    • Support preparation of safety-related documentation packages.

    Your Profile:

    Education and Qualifications:                                      

    • Relevant Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mining engineering.

    Experience: 

    • Relevant work experience in similar role.
    • Experience with mining machinery for flameproof environments.
    • Understanding of machine systems, hydraulics, and basic electrical concepts.
    • Experience with Rubber Tired Vehicles or Flameproof Equipment for the mining industry.
    • Experience in technical documentation is an advantage.
    • Interest in creating clear, structured technical documentation and illustrations.

    Internal Control & Secretarial Specialist

    • We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong experience in internal controls, governance, risk management, compliance and company secretarial administration. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial and operational processes, with the ability to assess controls, identify risks and drive corrective actions to completion.
    • You should be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, coordinating audit and governance requirements, preparing high-quality reports and maintaining accurate statutory records.     Purpose of the role:

    • The Internal Control and Company Secretarial Specialist is responsible for supporting and strengthening the internal control, governance, risk management, compliance and company secretarial environment for Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions in South Africa. The role ensures that local controls are aligned with the Global Internal Control Framework, that deficiencies and audit findings are monitored and closed, and that statutory and governance obligations are managed in line with Sandvik policies, local legislation and good corporate governance practices.

    The job responsibilities:
    Internal Controls 

    • Align the Global Control Matrix with local operations, laws, regulations and business processes.
    • Perform and document periodic internal control testing in line with the Global Internal Control Framework.
    • Identify control deficiencies, propose practical corrective actions and monitor implementation to closure.
    • Maintain internal control documentation and evidence in line with Group requirements.

    Process Reviews and Testing

    • Perform walkthroughs over key financial processes, including financial reporting, fixed assets, intercompany, inventory, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, payroll, tax, treasury and IT-related financial controls.
    • Assess the design and operating effectiveness of local internal controls and recommend improvements to reduce risk.
    • Perform data analytics procedures on selected transactions, including purchases, Credit card transactions, expense reports and other risk-based areas.

    Audit and Action Plan Management

    • Coordinate, monitor and report on the close-out of management action plans arising from internal and external audit findings.
    • Support WOKIVA or other control reporting platforms to ensure accurate reporting of internal control status and audit actions.
    • Act as a liaison between management and auditors on control-related matters.

    Company Secretarial and Governance

    • Maintain statutory company records, governance documentation, resolutions, registers and related filing requirements.
    • Support board, shareholder and management governance processes by preparing documentation, tracking decisions and ensuring timely follow-up.
    • Prepare board packs, including the coordination, collation and quality review of inputs, supporting documentation and governance matters for board and committee meetings.
    • Coordinate with external company secretarial advisors and statutory bodies to ensure compliance with local corporate governance requirements.

    Risk Management and Compliance

    • Support the quarterly Business Continuity and Enterprise Risk Management processes in line with Group requirements.
    • Maintain and update risk registers, monitor mitigating action plans and escalate overdue or high-risk items.
    • Monitor adherence to Sandvik policies, procedures, safety regulations and applicable legislation.

    Process Implementation and Improvement

    • Support the rollout of new controls and process improvements by reviewing process documentation and providing guidance to finance and business stakeholders.
    • Drive practical improvements that strengthen compliance, improve reporting quality and reduce operational risk.

    Profile Required: 

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration, Governance, Law or a related field.
    • Internal audit, risk, compliance or governance certification will be advantageous.
    • Company secretarial qualification or relevant statutory governance training will be advantageous.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in internal controls, internal audit, external audit, governance, risk management, compliance or a related finance control environment.
    • Experience in a Big 4 audit firm, multinational organisation, mining, manufacturing or industrial environment will be advantageous.
    • Strong knowledge of risk and control standards, enterprise risk management, business process best practice and financial reporting principles.
    • Practical exposure to statutory governance, company secretarial administration, board documentation, resolutions, registers and compliance follow-up will be advantageous.
    • Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical and report-writing skills.

    Other Requirements: 

    • Driver’s License.
    • Internal audit, risk, compliance or company secretarial certification advantageous
    • SAICA registration would be advantageous
    • Physically and medically fit to work in a mining environment where required.
    • National, regional or international travel may be required from time to time.

    Workshop Foreman CM - M1

    The Role:

    • The Workshop Foreman position seeks an ideal candidate with proficiency in the manufacturing or rebuild process for continuous miners, along with experience in other underground mining equipment. Specializing in the repair and maintenance of continuous miners used in underground mining operations is crucial. This role carries the primary responsibility of overseeing the operational functionality of the workshop. Key objectives include ensuring the designated production area meets predefined goals related to safety, quality outcomes, production volume, staffing levels, and on-time delivery.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Responsible for the employees, machines, and methods.
    • Responsible for reaching tactical targets.
    • Ensure staff competence and that work is done according to the agreed procedures and routines.
    • Lead and distributes work in the production area.

    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the assembly team. Monitor and analyse team performance against set KPIs.

    • Initiate improvement projects, including the implementation and maintenance of 5S principles for workplace organization.
    • Prepare regular reports for management on productivity, quality, and other relevant metrics.

    Profile Required:

    • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
    • Technical qualification - Trade certificate or tertiary Diploma.
    • 3-5 years' experience in a Foreman or supervisory role within a machine assembly or Workshop environment.
    • Experience in implementing and maintaining quality control measures in assembly operations.
    • Product knowledge on flameproof equipment.
    • Proven technical troubleshooting experience.
    • Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis.
    • Excellent communication skills.
