    Process Artisan

    CLOSING DATE: 2 November 2020

    ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • The main purpose of this role is to ensure efficient operations of the plant. This position requires shift work and will report to the Production Foreman.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Conduct basic first line fault finding
    • Applies Standard Operating Procedures
    • Understand equipment failure modes and defect identification and reporting
    • Demonstrate understanding of how equipment functions
    • Quality assurance of the product
    • Carry out all tasks as allocated by shift leader
    • Carry out plant inspections and take logs
    • Report all at risk behaviours and unsafe conditions to the Senior and/or Foreman.
    • Sampling as per schedules.
    • Maintain required housekeeping standards.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have a valid vehicle driver’s license (minimum code 8)
    • Must be prepared to work shifts
    • Prepared to do uncomfortable and dirty work (dust areas) at times
    • Working at heights and confined space entry may be required

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum Qualifications and expertise required (Must)
    • Grade 12 or N3 with Mathematics, Science & English
    • NQF Level 4

    Maintenance and Engineering Planner (Stoneworks)

    ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    The purpose of the role is to provide a continuous input and support into maintenance and project planning activities at various the business unit and to apply the planning processes at an operational level. To follow the Work Management Process principals.

    FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

    • Carry out engineering planning activities for specific sections / departments that optimise sweating of assets ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to and reduce total cost of ownership
    • Finance – Ensures that engineering planning activities are achieved in the most cost effective manner possible
    • Trains and coaches fellow employees and learners and ensures own career development
    • Report on progress, corrective action, make information available in format as agreed by the planning department to the business units engineering personnel
    • Safe Production – Support departments to achieve set targets by coordinating planning within appointed area of responsibility
    • Implements new methodolgies and technology, within the planning environment aligned with the Sasol Mining strategy and reports back on effectiveness
    • SHE – Accountable for striving towards best in class safety performance and continuous improvement of key safety metric
    • Establish a network of internal and external experts to consult and guide the maintenance planning strategy

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • NQF 2 qualification AND Planning Learnership
    • Minimum of 2 years relevant planning experience

    Maintenance & Eng Planner

    NATREF

    The National Petroleum Refiners of South Africa (Pty) Ltd (Natref) is a processing refinery owned by Sasol (Pty) Ltd (63,64%) and Total South Africa (36,36%). Natref is South Africa’s only inland crude oil refinery. This deep conversion refinery is designed to upgrade heavy, sour crude oil (oil with a high sulphur content) and yields about 89% white petroleum products.

    ABOUT THE ROLE/ PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    The purpose of the role is to enable plant stability through optimization of planning processes and provide support to operations through effective planning to ensure productive utilization of systems and processes. Execute the principles of effective and efficient planning by fully utilizing all the planning tools and resources. Report on own performance and identify areas for improvement in the complete process.

    FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

    • Successful execution of shutdowns, general overhauls (GO), turnarounds (TA), projects and complex jobs.
    • Managing work management for different resources according to work management process.
    • Execute ad hoc projects assigned by line manaement.
    • Evaluate and verify correctness of notifications and take action on deviations - (gate keeping function).
    • Support in supervisory capacity (if required) during shutdowns.
    • Contribute in shutdown program validation.
    • Planning and control of statutory work - ensure statutory process complience.
    • Have influence to reduce maintenance costs, optimise and reduce equipment down time.
    • Resource utilisation and effeiency Provide Bar/ Gantt chart programs for projects and complex jobs.
    • Ensure work package readiness for execution by arranging permits and getting confirmation of availability of equipment material/spares, services and resources.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Qualification

    • Engineering National Diploma or
    • Grade 12 Maths, Science and English or equivalent ( full N3, with English), and
    • Relevant (Engineering/Process) Occupational Trade certificate NQF4

    Experience

    • 4 years field experience as an Artisan or Technician
    • SAP PM module Experience (must)
    • Experience of Shutdown Planning activities
    • Experienced in Plant Maintenance Planning (must)
    • Multi discipline maintenance planning experience  (Operations/Mechanical/Welding/Electrical/Instruments) (must)

    Environmental Practitioner

    CLOSING DATE: 04 November 2020

    Sasol Mining operates six coal mines that supply feedstock for our Southern African integrated value chain. The coal supplied to Secunda Synfuels Operations (SSO) is mainly used as gasification feedstock and some is used to generate electricity. The coal supplied to Sasolburg Operations (SO) is used to generate electricity and steam. We also export coal from the Twistdraai Export Plant to international power generation customers via the Richards Bay Coal Terminal.

    ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To ensure that all aspects of environmental management performance objectives, compliance and targets are achieved by developing and implementation of plans, programmes, schedules and procedures. Assess compliance with best practices and legal requirements. Communication and actin plan(s) set up through the SHE communication system and assist with implementation and tracking.
