    Quality Engineer, KuGompo City (East London)

    • We are seeking a Quality Engineer for a permanent vacancy based in East London, Western Cape

    Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

    • NQF Level 5; ND/B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
    • (Qualified tool jig and die maker N4) – advantageous.

    Area Manager, Cape Town

    • We are seeking an Area Manager for a permanent vacancy based in Cape Town, Western Cape

    Applicants are required to meet the following criteria: 

    • Grade 12 with retail operations qualification will be an advantage
    • Candidate will oversee and manage stores in Western Cape Area - Total number of stores is 12 [Paarl (2), Belville, Wynberg (2), Mitchell’s Plein, Stellenbosch, Riversdale, Ceres, Worcester, George and Oudtshoorn]

    The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

    Sales & Marketing:

    • Manage the implementation of all marketing promotions to ensure maximum sales opportunities are exploited.
    • Make certain that business direction and strategies are followed.
    • Achieve and exceed store sales targets
    • Monitor and evaluate the daily sales targets of each store in your business unit.
    • Drive sales in area through active participation in promotions & providing sales leadership to staff.
    • Provide regular feedback on products, marketing and pricing of retailers with similar products / promotions and opportunities to the Buying & Marketing team.

    Management of Staff:

    • Manage the performance and development of staff to become a motivated sales force.
    • Effectively manage the Salaries and Wages budget of each store in your business unit and ensure that salaries and wages expenditure is in line with the required sales ratio %.
    • Manage & involve HR in all IR related matters within your business unit (Initiate disciplinary hearings and from time to time represent the company at the CCMA),
    • Determine staffing needs, recruit, interview and place employees in line with the company recruitment policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that the responsible persons in stores adhere to the standard operating procedures (Check and verify necessary documents when doing store visits).

    Risk, Shrinkage & Security:

    • Manage the security in all aspects within your respective business unit and ensure that security procedures are strictly adhered to.
    • Monitor and provide regular feedback to the risk team on the performance of security staff in respective stores (make sure that they are alert and performing their duties as expected).
    • Identify and report potential Risk area within your business unit involve the risk department
    • Continuously monitor shrinkage and ensure that all stores implement preventative measures in place to minimise stock losses in your business unit.
    • Should there be high shrinkage in one of the stores you will be required to investigate the reasons thereof and act on the stock losses in accordance with the shrinkage policy.
    • Ensure that stores are prepped for stocktakes to reduce down time in stores as a result of stock takes

    Stock & Asset Management:

    • Responsible for each store as a whole, ensure that the outside of the stores is kept neat and tidy and that inside fixtures and fittings are accounted for and maintained throughout entire business unit.
    • Manage controllable expenses.
    • Ensure that stores control their inventory and that the process of receiving and capturing of stock at store level.
    • Investigate and take active measures to prevent negative stock on hand (NSOH).
    • Stock management (IBT’s) – move stock between stores to maximise sales opportunities
    • Ensure that there is an equal standard throughout the stores in terms of merchandising and housekeeping standards.

    Customer Service:

    • Must possess strong customer service and communication skills and the ability to apply a friendly and enthusiastic manner on a daily basis.
    • Train staff in customer service.
    • Assist customers with enquiries and complaints.
    • Continuously satisfy customer needs and attract clientele.

    Warehouse Logistics Manager, KuGompo City (East London)

    • We are seeking a Warehouse Logistics Manager for a permanent vacancy based in  KuGompo City (East London), Eastern Cape

    Stock

    • Ensure that the stock flow through the warehouse is efficient without compromising accuracy
    • Liaise closely with buying, finance and operations to ensure maximum flow of stock through the warehouse
    • Ensure that all receiving, picking and packing and shipping deadlines / cut-off times are met
    • Manage, record and minimize IBTs and stock discrepancies in stores as well as WHS returns and claims
    • Identify and minimise risk areas within the warehouse
    • Control stock losses with the Warehouse and respective departments with the help of the warehouse team, departments will be held accountable for the total stock loss in the warehouse

    Staff

    • Identify workload of all given areas and shift personnel to areas where additional personnel needed
    • Ensure staff planning and scheduling is done in the most cost effective and productive way
    • Ensure staffing is in line with budgets and that all staff are productive in each department
    • Assist employee’s with work process problems / Identify training needs and training initiatives
    • Recognize sensitive business and personnel issues and handle issues with confidence, sensitivity and professionalism
    • Maintain harmony among employees and resolve grievances, manage disciplinary issues, and involve HR where necessary
    • Ensure correct policies and procedures are followed according to the company disciplinary code

    Controllable Expenses

    • Ensure that each department manager controls the expenses within their respective departments
    • Ensure that the respective WHS departments Salary and Wage budgets are in line with the company budget
    • Control packing and wrapping costs throughout the Warehouse
    • Manage 3rd party transporters and keep transport costs within the budget
    • The Warehouse logistics manager needs to identify areas where cost savings can be made and ensure waste / loss / over expenditure is reported, recorded and kept to a minimum

    Quality & Efficiency and Accuracy

    • Assist WHS department managers in identifying work procedures in a priority manner to expedite the workflow.
    • Plan co-ordinate administrative activities to ensure accurate results throughout the warehouse
    • Prioritize workflow
    • Communicate priorities effectively with department managers, supervisors and WHS staff
    • Give clear instructions (oral and written) and follow up regularly with respective departments
    • Examine work for exactness, neatness and ensure conformance with company policies and procedures
    • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiencies throughout the Warehouse.

    Logistics & Fleet Management

    • Oversee the fleet and ensure that vehicles are road worthy and licenses
    • Ensure that all vehicles are maintained and serviced regularly and on time.
    • Oversee, manage and negotiate with external transport service providers (couriers)
    • Ensure that delivery routes are well planned and done in the most efficient and cost-effective way
    • Ensure that drivers and stores adhere to the delivery & receiving process of the stock.
    • Minimizes the risks in transporting the stock to stores

    Procurement

    • Purchasing all sale tags, swing tags, promo stickers, stationary, cleaning material and plastic bags for all the stores.
    • Controlling the distribution of it to all the stores.
    • Purchasing everything for a new store
    • Controlling all hangers of the company / distribute and order hangers.
    • Control and distribute uniform for the company.

    Mechanical Engineer, Western Cape

    • Our client, a specialised offshore oil and gas engineering company, is looking to appoint a motivated and technically driven Mechanical Engineer to join its Western Cape operation.

    • Conduct in-house design and development, which will be the primary function of the role, including strength calculations (from first principles) and FEA/Simulation, 3D CAD modelling and drawing using SolidWorks, manufacturing data pack generation (incl. BOM's, QCP's, Works Instructions, Manuals)
    • Manage design and development Projects, which will be the secondary function within the role from inception through to delivery, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
    • Giving expert technical advice to technicians and coaching new technicians
    • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QC policies, procedures, and specifications
    • Detailed reporting and inspection report reviews; regular report and feedback to Management and the customer on the progress of project
    • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions; draft new procedures as required
    • Ensure safe work practices are being adhered to at all times
