PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- Reporting to Marketing Manager- SABC News: To develop, implement and evaluating of SABC News brand, marketing strategy and national campaigns and well as public relations. Contribute to the delivery of best-practice and innovative brand marketing and communication strategies within SABC News, and will work to ensure that the respective SABC News platform is promoted and positioned to drive its platform objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
DEVELOPMENT OF STRATEGY AND BUSINESS PLANS
- Oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of the SABC News brand and PR strategy in line with the network strategy.
BUSINESS OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY AND COST MANAGEMENT
- In consultation with the SABC News platform, lead the development, execution and evaluation of a range of national platform campaigns.
- Develop an influencer management plan for the specific SABC News platform being overseen.
- Develop and implement strategic communication and marketing strategies (both internal and external) for key SABC News projects and initiatives.
- Lead the development, management and evaluation of an influencer/ ambassador program
- Manage the application of the brand across corporate partners
- Oversee the production and distribution of marketing and communications collateral for the SABC News platforms
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the Executive on marketing and PR strategies.
- Build key relations with the media, bloggers and social influencers
- Write regular media pieces promoting the SABC News programmes, profiling key celebrities and highlighting ground-breaking initiatives
- Establish initiatives, policies and procedures that deliver ongoing improvements in service delivery
- Writing, editing and proof reading of all content for internal and external publications including in house magazines, newsletters and press releases
- Provide advice to senior management and leadership on SABC News specific brand and PR.
- Management of budget to ensure effectiveness and cost containment
GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCE
- Monitor and report on the operational risk and compliance matters
- Implement internal control measures to ensure good governance.
- Manage financial risks to protect organisational integrity, create value, prevent financial loss and ensure compliance with applicable policies and legislations.

- Implement Occupational Health and Safety Act.
CUSTOMER AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
- Champion relationships with key external industry and media stakeholder

GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCE
- Ensures the development and review of internal control measures to ensure good governance.
- Oversee the management of risks to protect organisational integrity, create value, prevent financial loss and ensure compliance with applicable policies and legislations.
- Keeping abreast of the latest developments regarding labour legislation in order to provide relevant advice to top and line management
- Accurate interpretation of SABC policies in order to provide advice to management on SABC policies and procedures.
- Develop strategies and policies with regard to negotiations for the SABC.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
- Provide support and assistance to the Chief Negotiator of SABC as employer in the bargaining forum and other relevant collective engagement structures.

- Liaison with lawyers in order to provide them with instructions and assistance during cases referred to the labour court.

INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- National Diploma / bachelor’s degree in human resource/ / Industrial Relations/ Labour Law or equivalent qualification(NQF6/7)
EXPERIENCE
- 6 years’ industry experience in Employee Relation environment of which 3 years should be on direct exposure, with a proven track record, in managing and attending to collective bargaining, CCMA or BC litigation and process, Labour Court and Labour Appeal Court litigation and processes on behalf of an organisation, drafting of legal documents, managing disciplinary and grievance processes.
KNOWLEDGE
- Understanding of employment law and employee relations.
- Understanding of labour litigation at CCMA or accredited bargaining council (conciliations and arbitrations)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- To execute audit assignments (includes financial, operational and compliance audits) in accordance with the Internal Audit Standards. To audit the efficiency and adequacy of financial and operational controls within the SABC to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and the PFMA and to inform relevant stakeholders on the state of the control environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERIENCE

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
