    Football Head Coach

    • The Department of Sports and Recreation has a Part-time Football Head Coach position availableat the eMalahleni Campus for a period of 9 months (01 September 2025- 30 May 2026).

    Key performance areas/Core functions:

    • To coach TUT eMalahleni Football Team in SAFA Regional League and other related competitions.
    • Planning, organizing and executing practice sessions according to the needs and demands of the team.
    • Plan and organize trials for talent identification and recruitment of new players.
    • Monitoring players and resolve team issues
    • Provide reports on development of players and matches etc.:

    Requirements

    • CAF C License, CAF B License will be added advantage
    • Code 8 or 10 Drivers License
    • Safeguarding certification/First Aid qualification 1 or 2
    • No criminal record

    Experience

    • Coaching experience at Club level, District or Provincial Level.
    • Coaching in USSA/Varsity/Schools/ Football/Competitions will be added advantage.
    • Knowledge and Skills
    • Computer literacy

    eSport Coach

    • The Department of Sports and Recreation has a Part-time eSport coach position available at the eMalahleni Campus for a period of 4 months (01 September 2025- 30 December 2025).

    Key performance areas/Core functions:

    • Prepare athletes for USSA tournament and other tournaments.
    • Facilitate recruitment of athletes and informational training sessions.
    • Organise Tournaments and monitor equipment usage
    • Innovate and create awareness of the report
    • Organize internal league and Community Outreach program

    Requirements

    • Safeguarding certification/First Aid qualification 1 or 2
    • Professional driving permits will be advantageous
    • Experience
    • USSA /Varsity experience.
    • Local and international

    Knowledge and Skills

    • In-depth game knowledge: Strong understanding of the game mechanics, strategies
    • Communication skills: Effective communication with players, team and stakeholders.
    • Strategic planning: Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies
    • Passion for gaming: Strong passion for the game and eSports industry

    4x Counselling Psychology Internship (12 months)

    • The Directorate of Student Development and Support (SDS) has four Counselling Psychology internship vacancies on the Pretoria West campus. The internship spans one year and is in Counselling Psychology. It will start on the 2nd of January 2026.

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    • Applicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and identity documents. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Further note that candidates may be expected to make a presentation or undergo competency testing.

    Critical Performance Areas:

    • Offer a professional and competent counselling services to registered TUT students
    • To help foster and develop both the academic and personal skills of TUT students
    • Take part in various psycho-educative programmes/presentations/training
    • Offer individual and group counselling services to children at a local children’s home
    • Comply with the administrative requirements at SDS
    • To be able to work within a team and contribute to effective team functioning

    Minimum Requirements (Qualification):

    • Currently registered as an MA (Counselling Psychology) student at a recognized University

    Personal competencies:

    • Ability to work with people individually or in groups
    • Ability to manage stress and time effectively
    • Ability to apply and facilitate effective communication.
    • Ability to counsel, mentor and provide guidance.
    • Ability to prioritize and organize, function independently and take responsibility for tasks.
    • Ability to operate effectively in team context.
