Position Purpose

• Ensure safe and affordable railway operation by executing activities and directing resources related to track maintenance manual. Optimization of a work group doing and maintenance, rehabilitation and repairs of track infrastructure over a specific geographical area to prescribed quality and safety standards.

Position Outputs

• Receive plan maintenance orders (based on the field inspection conducted) from the track inspector on the conditions of the track and other parts of the track to determine if there are any defects or deviations from the maintenance standards and norms. 
• Responsible for the execution of supervision of the track maintenance according to the maintenance plan and train/operational plan. 
• Controls and issues detonators (Classified to Explosives Act) to ensure compliance to explosives act and operational safety procedures. 
• Performs various administration duties of moderate complexity to ensure proper control of the work processes and resources. 
• Supervises and conduct performance assessments for all directly assigned personnel to ensure proper management of the people management and availability of required competences.
• Day to day care and servicing of vehicle and equipment according to company policy and procedures. 
• Protect the track during maintenance according to the protection rules and procedures. 
• Independently performance physical maintenance of the track infrastructure as instructed by the Track Inspector. 
• Responds to call-outs faults. 
• Ensure that the right working tools are in the right condition, are available and returned daily. 
• Ensure that his team is transported to the workplace safely and on time. 
• Obtain occupation from the Train Control officer before working on the track to ensure protection standards are correctly set out, to provide feedback of the necessary activities performed on the track and to declare the safety thereof.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and/or Science or equivalent Track Master Diploma from School of Rail A minimum of 3 years’ working experience Valid Code C1 (10) drivers’ license & PDP and competent to drive such a vehicle Train Working Rules Code of Practice 29 or be able to attend and pass the first available course Valid First Aid certificate or be able to attend the first available course RRV Certificate will be an advantage

Position Purpose

• Is in overall command of the vessel and highest authority at sea, ensuring that all international and local maritime laws and company policies are complied with thereby ensuring an effective, safe and efficient management of the vessel, crew, equipment and overall dredge program, allowing for optimal utilization of the vessel. 

Position Outputs

• Ensure compliance with the vessels security plan as required by the International Maritime Organization.
• Ensure that proper and accurate records are kept by the vessel in accordance with legal requirements and company procedures.
• Ensure all aspects of the operation such as safe navigation, cleanliness, seaworthiness, management of all personnel and inventory of stores are complied with as well as maintaining the vessels certificates and documents.
• Responsible and accountable for the implementation and compliance of all aspects, standards and practices regarding international, national and local maritime laws, promulgations and standard business practices.
• Implement, direct, coordinate, evaluate and control the overall dredge operations, targets and methods of dredging to ensure a safe, efficient, effective and timeous completion of the dredging targets.
• Implement and control the companies polices, rules and regulations with regards to business practices, general safety and adherence to discipline thereby ensuring effective management of the vessel.
• Identify, implement and administer on board training programs for all deck personnel to ensure that there is sufficient training being conducted for skills migration

• As per IMO, State Flag and Local maritime Laws and regulations; First and foremost: Safe guarding the Dredger and Crew by enforcing, implementing directing, monitoring and evaluating subject standards and practices to ensure the overall safe operations of the dredger.
• Responsible and accountable for the legal and practical Seaworthiness of the dredger, thus ensuring continued availability of the dredger for its intended Purpose. (The dredger may not leave the quay if it is not seaworthy) Managing and maintaining IMO, State Fag requirements as stipulated ensure the vessel's certificate and documentation remain valid and in force.
• Responsible and accountable for the implementation and compliance of all aspects, standards and practices regarding international, State Flag and local maritime laws, promulgations and standard business practices.

Position Purpose

Provide strategic leadership and guidance in ensuring effective institutional protection and prevention of crime across Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager (TRIM) through the development and deployment of National strategies and special operations in collaboration with key industry stakeholders such as the South African Police Services (SAPS), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Justice, National Co-ordinating Committee (NICOC), State Security Agency (SSA), TRIM’s Corridor Managers, and compliance to achieve:

Position Purpose

• The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance, installation, repair and problem solving of Radio Telecommunications equipment used by Transnet. These include microwave, trunked and open channel radio network equipment, base station-, mobile- and handheld- radio peripherals, telemeters and marine radio- and navigational- equipment (coastal locations dependant). The incumbent will lead the Radio Telecommunications team to achieve the above. The area of responsibility will mainly be, but not limited to, his/her geographical area

Position Outputs

• Conduct scheduled routine preventative maintenance as per MICA on Radio network and peripheral equipment as well as on Radio transmission media to keep the above-mentioned equipment and networks fully functional within service and operational specifications 
• Responsible for the new installations and the commissioning of the new equipment as well as the programming thereof. 
• Conduct corrective maintenance on Radio telecommunication and associated equipment, test, repair and replace identified faulty items and re-commission equipment to restore systems to original functional condition. 
• Give regular feedback on progress / clearance of faults to Technical Command Centre (TCC), customer and maintenance controller with relevant information to update logged fault notification and time recording. 
• Supervise staff and conduct regular progress meetings to ensure timeous and effective preventative and corrective maintenance is performed.
• Complete reports, i.e. MICA (manual for infra condition assessment), maintenance, technical, vehicle, overtime, fault and open notification, to monitor, control and complete administration processes of above tasks. 
• Implement Transnet Risk Management program on a daily basis through level one meetings, green areas, safety talks and WSWP (written safe work procedures) task observations so that all employees comply to Transnet's Safety policies and procedures. 
• Communicate regularly to the Technical Manager or TCC to customers to give feedback on progress regarding outstanding faults and installations as per customer's expectations/needs
• Co-ordinate attendance of planned training for sub-ordinates, students and new appointees, peers as per agreed Individual Development Plans.
• Regularly undergo training to stay competent in new technologies and equipment deployed in the Radio Telecommunications network and to self-study where required to acquire recent knowledge and skills
