    Business Developer (Solar PV)

    Job Summary: The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic Sales professional, who will help candi to lead the solar revolution. Given that candi is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and a new way of thinking. 

    Specifically, the job requires taking ownership of the following for the South African team:

    • Meeting or exceeding quotas for overall sales target and KPIs
    • Generating profit by building and maintaining a sales  pipeline in South Africa and Africa in line with the candi strategy
    • Prospecting clients in the C&I space
    • Developing  strong business relationships with key industry players such as  EPCs, channel partners, industry associations, regulators, etc.
    • Taking ownership of and driving the sales process to guarantee a deal’s success working with stakeholders to clear technical, administrative, regulatory and financial aspects 
    • Working closely with the Engineering team and other support functions to guarantee the delivery of the project to the client in a timely manner
    • Reporting and actively using and updating candi’s CRM tool (Salesforce)to reflect business development activity
    • Analysing sales metrics along with feedback from the market and trends to determine whether current sales strategies are effective and how they may be adapted
    • Supporting the Marketing team with all relevant events, meetings and conferences
    • Innovating and implementing processes and tools to streamline the team’s activities
    • Staying informed on, and analysing the impact of, energy policy and regulatory changes.

    Location: Cape Town or Johannesburg or Durban (combined with working from home)

    Hours: Full time (80%+ will be considered depending on the circumstances)

    Job Requirements:

    • Tertiary qualification (preferably Business Administration, Marketing or an equivalent degree in Engineering coming with experience in sales)
    • First-hand experience of business development in renewable energy, other infrastructure, finance or other related industry in South Africa, preferably in your assigned geographic area
    • Proven track record of hitting target and KPIs 
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks from client acquisition to closing 
    • Ideally joining with an existing network of potential clients, partners (EPCs/ commission agents) to tap into across the C&I sector in South Africa.
    • Exposure to, or a good understanding of, solar financial (or similar/related) products
    •  Financial modelling and commercial contract understanding are a plus
    • Being savvy with creating, selling and clearly communicating techno-commercial proposals to a non-technical client audience
    • Display a track record of thriving in a fast-paced sales environment, able to work towards and hit KPIs. Being a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit is paramount
    • The role will include a significant amount of travelling to meet clients, which you must be very comfortable with
    • Must be very comfortable working in the digital realm, using tools such as Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office, CRMs and other tools such as Asana, Slack, etc.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, written and spoken English required, Afrikaans or African languages is a plus

    Commercial Asset Management in Solar PV

    Job Summary: 

    The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic person to take on the Commercial Asset Management role within South Africa, who will help candi to further deliver premium solar solutions. Given that candi is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and proactive involvement.

    The job requires taking ownership of the following for the South African team:

    • Own the commercial contract management between candi and customer 
    • Maintain contract related information & terms in candi CRM software
    • Coordinate data required for billing & financial model management with finance department
    • Support asset management with service provider / supplier commercial discussions & contracts
    • Deliver customer reporting, contract extensions & other contract amendments
    • Arrange & manage plant insurance and manage equipment warranties
    • Own commercial asset management KPIs for internal reporting
    • Coordinate onboarding of customer during project acceptance & operational start period
    • Own the customer relationship during contract life
    • Be proactive and keep close customer contact driving delivery of the customer success journey 
    • Own feedback of customer & commercial learnings to concerned teams 

    Location: 

    • Within close proximity of Johannesburg
    • Flexibility to work from home on a regular basis (hybrid work)
    • Regular travel to candi customers, sites and candi offices in South Africa

    Hours: Full time (five days per week) 

    Job Requirements:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification
    • 3+ years PV industry or related industry work experience in commercial asset management / contract management / customer management / technical account management
    • Interested in ensuring commercial compliance while driving customer satisfaction through positive and proactive customer engagements
    • Good understanding of general commercial terms, contract and account management
    • Interested in and able to communicate technical PV Solar and energy industry terms related to plant performance, system technical & financial modeling and commercial benefits.
    • Desire to work in an international environment, sharing ideas and learnings across borders and cultures

    Asset Data Acquisition Engineer

    Job Summary: The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic person to take on the Asset Data Acquisition role within South Africa, who will help candi to further deliver premium solar solutions. Given that candi is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and proactive involvement.

    The job requires taking ownership of the following for the South African team:

    • Setup and management of data acquisition hardware & infrastructure from the plants to the data servers. 
    • Examples of hardware include data loggers, meters, sensors, PLC’s, site networking & telecommunications, routers.
    • Utilizing a variety of communication protocols between the hardware types and the transfer of data to and from servers and other remotely connected hardware.
    • Data specification compliance, validity, integrity and delivery consistency 
    • Plant power controller setup between solar, Inverter, generator and battery hybrid system options where applicable. 
    • Support the Asset Management team in resolving plant issues.
    • Plant health diagnostics data quality assurance (string testing, thermography, IV curve tracing)
    • Collection of data required for Asset Management maintenance and plant performance KPI’s 
    • Collection of plant equipment data and plant downtime data for billing and contract management
    • Primary interface between local Asset management team and global Asset Intelligence team on data acquisition topics, issues and related systems development
    • Support local and global Data Intelligence systems development projects where applicable.

    Location: 

    • Preferably, but not limited to Cape Town, JHB or Durban 
    • Flexibility to work from home on a regular basis (hybrid work)
    • Occasional travel to candi sites and candi offices in South Africa

    Hours: Full time (five days per week) 

    Job Requirements:

    • Appropriate qualification (BTech / BEng / Energy Systems / Data Science / Networking), or justified 
    • 3+ years PV industry or related industry work experience in commissioning, diagnosing & troubleshooting data  systems & related hardware
    • Highly analytical and able to manually complement data sets and maintain a BI dashboard. 
    • Interested in programming code and how software contributes to a more sustainable energy supply
    • Hands-on ability and experience working on site, especially with AC/DC Power Systems / IT systems / SCADA / Industrial Automations
    • Experience and skills in Data Analytics and Engineering is a plus
    • Familiarity with SQL and Python is a plus
    • Desire to work in an international environment, sharing ideas and learnings across borders and cultures
